As soon as Marcus was ready, the pair set off and were driving from ONYX in one of Gabriel's more inconspicuous cars he owned. Esme sped down the street in a black SUV and turned up the heating for Marcus, whose damp locks still dripped water down his white shirt. Esme rolled her eyes at his carelessness, not that they got ill easily, werewolves immune systems are strong. However, the weather was getting colder, and soon it would become frosty and possibly snow.

Not long after, Esme pulled the car up down the long country road and towards the Hub that seemed quiet compared to the other times they had been there. Gone were the rows of motorcycles and the few cars parked up like before. Esme pressed the window button and sniffed the air once the window was rolled down; the scents mixed in the air revealed what they were both thinking.
