The Unforeseen

Peter carried Diana on his back while following Green behind. One hour after walking around the forest, they arrived at a creek with a wood bridge, and right after they were on the other side, Green touched one tree at the height of Peter, and a portal appeared.

After walking inside, Diana woke up and looked around, amazed. The baby blue color roots around the top of the fairy houses on the ground gave light to that part of the forest.

Peter put Diana on the ground and disappeared without letting her see his face.

"Who was that?" the girl asked Green.

"My boyfriend."

"No!" someone said behind them "You will not date an Atheaus!"

"I already told you that he is not like the others."

"I don't care. That is final." Right after saying that, she noticed Diana and got confused "Why is she here?"

"She is the granddaughter of Ethan."

The woman checked the girl from head to foot and walked away before giving the sign to follow her. Green took Diana's hand and obeyed. After a while, they arrived at a small fountain with houses around.

"This place is gorgeous, just like I thought about fairy houses."

"Yeah! The humans had a good job describing us, well...! not everyone... I don't know how they knew..."

"Maybe it is better not to think much about it!" Diana said with a hand on the shoulder "Now... Are we here for the zodiac power? But did I not just..."

"Don't say anything else, it might bring trouble."

"If you say so."

Green smiled again, and Diana noticed that the fairy was trying to be happy no matter the problems. She was jealous of Green. The way that the girl confronted the woman made Diana remember the fight she had with her parents.

"If I did not snap, I would not find this amazing place." she thought, smiling "Everything is so magical."

"Is everything okay?" Green asked outside one of the houses, with the hand on the door "Let's come inside first."

Diana shook her head and followed the fairy inside the house, but due to the height of the door, she was forced to bend down a little to pass by it. Already inside, they saw a little sofa, an orange bed against the wall, and a small wood table with four chairs right in the middle.

"Help me take this out of the way."

"Sure."

As they took the table and chairs to the side, two women appeared with a piece of a dark grey stone with gold engraved drawings, and they put it right where the table was.

"Come closer." the woman had talked to them before, command. "You two, get on guard."

"Why do they have to be on guard?" Diana asked, but Green didn't answer.

The girl walked over to the stone, and right when she was in front of it, the woman started interrogating her.

"Name, age, and zodiac, please!" she stopped talking for some time, and she spoke "You are lucky that your grandfather was a great man, and I owe him."

"Oh! I never met my grandfather, so I don't know..."

"Just tell me what I want."

"Very well. My name is Diana Brown, I am 16 years...."

"Wait... Brown?" she asked alarmed.

"There are a lot of people with that name, mom." Green immediately intercepted.

Diana got terrified. Why did the woman react like that about her name?

"For once, you are right. Continue the ritual, Diana!"

"And my zodiac is Aries, I think."

"Very well. Put the hand on the table. The stone will turn the color of your power."

While reaching the stone, Diana saw, from the corner of her eye, that Green was ready to run with a worried expression.

As the hand made contact with the stone, everything got quiet. It was supposed to turn into one color, not three.

"Light, dark, and fire." the woman repeated two times with a surprised face, but soon it turned dark "Guards, arrest here!"

As if Green knew, she ran to Diana and touched her arm, making her disappear.

"Green? What are you doing?"

"She is not like them. Diana is a good person, and so are her parents and brother."

"And how do you know it...?" the woman asked, but got quiet, shocked "Don't tell me... that boyfriend of yours..."

Green was too scared to look her mother in the face, which confirmed the woman's suspicions.

"Arrest my daughter in the bedroom, please."

"Mom?! You can't do that!" she told her, surprised while trying to get away from the hands of the guards while they took her away. "I am her fairy guide. I can't leave her."

"You should have thought that before. You know where she is from... that's all that matters."

"You changed mother. I don't recognize you anymore."

As Green was taken away, a girl came inside, and with a knee on the ground, she started to speak.

"The High Guardian wishes to speak with you."

"Thank you for telling, dear. Where is he?"

"In front of your house, lady."

Meanwhile, Diana appeared in a dark and mossy place, then got terrified when she saw a bed and cell bars.

"No way! There is no way I am stuck in a cell."

"You arrived." a fairy said, appearing out of the shadow of the space she was "Took you long enough."

"Who are you?"

"I am a friend of Chad. He asked me to help you."

"Where is he? Is he hurt?"

"I don't know! I lost contact with him since he went on a mission."

"And what was the mission?"

"That is something you should ask him. It is not my place to say."

Diana understood and didn't say anything else until she heard a known voice and the fairy disappeared.

"I am not surprised that you went there!"

"What do you want, David?"

"Oh. I was David, but not anymore. You can call me Aian."

She got confused, but as soon as she looked into his eyes, Diana saw that it was different from the other time.

"Are you his twin or something?"

"You can say that... but with the same body!"
