Chapter 42.5 - Moon

Worthless.

All worthless.

Not a single soul.

Not a single fragment.

Mindless.

All mindless.

Weak.

Weak,

Weak.

Eyes like a full moon, hung in the dark.

What had it not seen.

What had it not heard.

So many new things.

Small is the well it walks, despite eyes that hang over the world.

It's gaze rippled like a rock on still water.

Memories.

So many… memories.

Emotions.

Thoughts.

It's paw soundlessly touched ground.

Scales.

Was this how it looked, to them?

To those souls… how terrifying.

Fear.

Was this fear?

This pit.

Fear… vain.

Why fear?

It is inevitable.

It's paw dashed the memories.

An aftermath of the souls that swirled in those eyes, devoured and trapped.

It bore it's teeth.

Strong warriors fighting.

Stronger than even Mother.

It slinked through the dark, it's eyes glimmered.

One furry ear turned backwards, twitched.

Rocks.

It turned it's head.

A little light.

Spirit.

Food calls them spirits.

Why?

Rocks.

Spirit.

It's ethereal gaze became tiny, it's eyes moved like comets leaving trails of light as it threw itself into the dark sky of the cavern.

It's mind recognized the wrongness, this feeling was something it knew well.

Sharp rocks broke through the ground.

It's whiskers tasted the air, balancing it's whole body despite it's size.

An ambush.

Who?

The Nightmares dove for the little light as it's eyes searched the ground like a moon casting light upon the earth.

Food… It did not look like food.

It was him.

It burned his face into it's memory as it dashed away after landing onto one of the great earthen spikes.

Good evening.

I haven't written a monsters perspective in some time.

I modelled it after what I imagine a feral cat the size of a bus might be like, except it has mind bending powers and such.

A small change.

Thank you for your support, and as always,

Enjoy.
