The Eye Of The Moon Plan

Erik Saltzman was a young man, a normal student who spent his time studying and playing games. Enjoying his time with his family, annoying his little sister, singing songs and much more. His life was plain and simple but he didn't have any complaints with it. He was happy with what he had. Unfortunately, his simple life came to an end when he died at a young age of 17, courtesy of [Truck Association]. Upon his death, instead of finding peace, his soul was abducted by an Outer-God. The dangerously powerful entity was able to "convince" Erik Saltzman soul about the world being riddled with pain and agony. He asked Erik if he wanted to end this "Cycle of Eternal Damnation". Outer God:- I will grant you strength, to end this all, no more suffering and everyone will be happy. Erik:- What is the price? True Paradise is just a fantasy which can't be achieved no matter what you do. Outer God:- It is true that a thing such as True Paradise can only be dreamt of but what if we change the reality into a dream? After all, everything is possible in a never-ending dream. Erik:- What do you propose? Outer-God:- To create a True Paradise, you must first make the "Impossible" into something "Possible". Erik:- Swapping reality with an everlasting dream..? Outer-God:- The "Eye Of The Moon Plan" Erik:- Madara wasn't able to succeed, and I don't need to tell you about his capabilities. What makes you think that I would succeed in doing something that he couldn't? Outer-God:- Firstly, You aren't affected by Plot-armour and secondly, you don't blindly believe in anything, you're caution and decision making sets you apart the rest. Erik:- Hm...How do you propose to even start this "Plan for Salvation"? Outer-God:- You will be sent to a dream world, [Irregular at Magic High school]. You will need to successfully put everyone in that world into a dream. That world is heading towards its destruction, so begin from there first. Erik:-Irregular world? You do know the danger that infests that world right? Not to mention the broken protagonist and his sister, how am I even supposed to survive there? Outer-God:- That where I come in, I will grant you a few abilities which shall help you in your endeavour. Erik:- Hmm..... Outer-God:- You would ask about your family? How they are? Erik:- Unfortunately, I can no longer affect that world and from my observation, you too can't....otherwise you would have chosen someone with a higher success rate. Outer-God:- On-point observation indeed. Erik:- I can only pray for them to have a happy life and move on. Outer-God:-Indeed... ----------------------------------------------------------- •Cover:-Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint. •Release rate:-4 chapters worth 1000 words per week. Chapter:-121 The Opening Ceremony pt-2

(A/N:-I haven't really explored much of Erik's business side so this chapter will be focusing on his background.)

(A/N:-The theory in this chapter is my own thinking of how magic works in the Irregular World.)

"Behold Masaki! Here he comes, the one and only!" (George)

"...Erik Saltzman" (George)

***

George was a big fan of Erik Saltzman; not only was he a business Emperor but also a pioneer in CAD development and research.

The advances made in integrating magic in society were heavily affected by the actions of this young man.

Usually, magicians would be treated as third-grade citizens or weapons; limited to partake in government facilities.

A magician affiliated with a country didn't have any freedom of choice concerning their future.

Due to the potential powers commanded by the magicians; there was a large number of restrictions placed upon them.

But an individual of Erik's status had boundless independence, and he was trying to make it so for other magicians too!

He had been recruiting lots of magicians to work under the Saltzman Empire; all over the world.

The government of a country would try to restrict him in any way possible, thus to counter this opposition; he devised an ingenious plan.

He chose to simply transport the magicians of a country to another country where they would work under the Saltzman Empire while being treated as hired labor by the other countries.

The headquarters of the Saltzman Empire in any country were treated as embassies which made the "Great Saltzman Network" which connected every country; for technological exchange.

This not only helped in the rapid development of technology; after all, great minds from all across the world would come together to focus on humanity's development as a whole.

But it also limited a country's opposition as they would have zero control over the magicians in other countries; even if these magicians belonged to the former.

Erik's latest project was termed, "A Revolutionary Technology" by the experts of various countries.

He had partnered up with Juumonji Katsuto, Kudou Retsu, and another hidden individual to turn his idea into reality.

A CAD that could bridge the differences between [Ancient Magic] and [Modern Magic] would change the world forever; and hopefully, unite the entire Magical Community.

Aside from his contributions to the Magical Community, he also had an attractive personality and easy-going demeanor which made him approachable.

This combined with his talent in Magic, extremely handsome looks and his high intellect made him a heavily idolized individual.

George himself wanted to join [The Saltzman Cooperation] so that he could spread the fame of the Ichijou family all over the world.

Masaki turned to look towards Erik who had a calm smile on his face as he engaged in a conversation with one of the organizers.

The glass slowly twirled gracefully in his hands as he picked up a drink from one of the waiters around him.

"I gotta say, George." (Masaki)

"Mr.Saltzman got class!" (Masaki)

"He reminds me of my father when he is conversing with the clan elders." (Masaki)

"A powerful presence filled with elegance!" (Masaki)

"One wonders how he managed to achieve something like that at such a young age." (Masaki)

"Of course! He got class!" (George)

"Let's go and meet him!" (George)

The short-statured young man was obviously excited at the prospect of meeting his idol, he couldn't wait any longer and moved towards Erik with Masaki in tow.

(Erik's POV)

"I must thank you, Mr. Saltzman." (Organizer)

"It is only thanks to your 'donation' that we are able to introduce this year's special event." (Organizer)

"Not a problem, Mr. Zetsu." (Erik)

"It makes me happy to see the infinite possibilities the [Nine-School Competition] can present." (Erik)

"This competition has already become the biggest job placement event in the whole country; for magicians." (Erik)

Yes, personally I believe that this competition is a great opportunity for the government or other facilities to recruit budding talents.

And the great thing about it was that it still had the potential to evolve even further and become something...more.

I couldn't stop a smile as an intriguing thought emerged in my mind.

What if we combine the Thesis Competition with the [Nine-School Competition], rather than organizing both of them separately?

Not only would it save the organizers a lot of money but it would also attract more variety of facilities to show interest in this event.

"Mr. Saltzman, do you have a minute? (George)

An unfamiliar voice broke my chain of thoughts; bringing me back to the real world.

I turned towards the source of this voice and was pleasantly surprised by the newcomers.

"Kichijouji Shinkurou and Ichijou Masaki? What a surprise!" (Erik)

"Welcome gentlemen! It's a pleasure to finally meet the famous "Cardinal George" and "Crimson Prince" of the Ichijou family." (Erik)

Hearing me speak with such casualness, Masaki had a surprised expression on his face which turned into a smile while his friend looked shellshocked.

"Y-You know me, Mr. Saltzman?" (George)

Hm? Do you perhaps underestimate yourself too much?

Your idea is revolutionary and yet you fail to realize the potential behind your theory.

"Well, of course, I know both of you." (Erik)

"I have read about the [Cardinal Codes Theory] you presented to the Magical Community, last year." (Erik)

"I found your theory very interesting and even conducted some research using the idea you presented in your theory." (Erik)

"Really? Please tell me what were you able to find?" (George)

This young man was too excited at the moment, not that I blame him; even I would act similarly if I found the last two pieces of the Dream Tech.

"From what I have observed so far." (Erik)

"[Cardinal Codes] is the name given to the 16 fundamental Magic Sequences that are postulated by your [Cardinal Code Hypothesis]." (Erik)

"The theory states that there are 16 fundamental Magic Sequences, from the Four Great Systems and Eight Major Types with the corresponding positive and negative poles." (Erik)

"The theory further states that any magic from the Four Great Systems can be recreated by using various combinations." (Erik)

"Within Modern Magic, effects occur after redefining an object after phenomenon rewriting." (Erik)

"The driving force behind the change is defined in the Magic Sequences; however, the driving force would not exist without defining what happens after the magic affects the target." (Erik)

"The Cardinal Codes on the other hand can create the driving force themselves; in theory." (Erik)

"They are Magic Sequences that literally define 'Speed', 'Weight', 'Movement', 'Oscillation', 'Convergence', 'Dispersal', 'Absorption', and 'Release'; the Eight Major Types." (Erik)

"Rather than having an overall effect on the Eidos, these act on a single object and render them possible." (Erik)

"Magic created by using the Cardinal Codes doesn't need to define the phenomena it alters, instead it recreates the driving force itself." (Erik)

"However from what I have observed after experimenting, this theory seems partially incorrect." (Erik)

"There are spells within the Four Great Systems that cannot be recreated using the Cardinal Codes. They do exist as building blocks, but not every magic can be recreated." (Erik)

"I-Is that so? I still think that my theory holds some merit." (George)

"I believe that if given enough, I can prove the existence of other 15-codes!" (George)

Even though he spoke with strength, I could see the slight tremble and doubt hidden underneath his words.

George had a conflicted expression on his face as he tried to counter the arguments presented by Erik.

He was obviously struggling as he didn't have anything to back his belief; other than the fact that only one Cardinal Code had been proven to exist so far.

Masaki also had a sad expression on his face as he looked at the downcast expression of his friend.

No one would want their idol to contradict something they spent many years refining.

"While my research and a few 'others' prove that your theory is incorrect, I don't agree with them." (Erik)

George and Masaki looked towards me with a shocked expression as he questioned.

"B-But why!?" (George)

"Why? You ask...well, I believe that those who think that some spells can't be recreated are wrong." (Erik)

My words confused both of them while I continued with my explanation.

I pointed towards George and spoke with a tinge of excitement within my voice.

"Using your theory as a base, I have come up with a little theory of mine. Take an example of a person riding a bicycle and compare him with a man riding an electrical bicycle." (Erik)

"Both of them cover the same distance in the same period; the only difference being the nature of the energy that is used in both cases." (Erik)

"The bicycle uses mechanical energy while the electrical bicycle uses electrical energy; to do the same work." (Erik)

"Now, replace the word 'work' with 'phenomenon of change' and keep in mind that both electrical energy and mechanical energy are variants or different forms of energy; which is a single thing." (Erik)

"Basically, the 'force' belongs to the same origin." (Erik)

"All magic in the world is based on the 'phenomenon of change', while sequences are the 'force' which makes things happen." (Erik)

"When people say that some magic can only be achieved through a single way, they are wrong." (Erik)

"I believe that the reason why is it so is that; we haven't found the right substitute for the 'force' to make it happen." (Erik)

"And single 'force' is a single entity with various variants; it is possible to use any spell to achieve the 'phenomenon of change' as long as we know the correct substitute to use to replace the 'force' or the old sequence with one of its variants." (Erik)

I finally finished speaking and looked at Masaki and George who seemed to be absorbing all the knowledge I had just imparted to him.

"Th-This..is insane! I never thought about it like this! This is truly a genius theory! Oh my god!" (George)

The young man could help himself but lose his composure after digesting the information he just gained.

His seemingly excited behavior attracted lots of attention while Masaki had an admiring look in his eyes.

"I had heard of your genius from my father but you are just in a league of your own." (Masaki)

"Haha....all this knowledge is based on George's theory and the previously established theories, I just combined all of them together to get to a conclusion." (Erik)

"You shouldn't be so modest, Mr. Saltzman! Your theory holds a lot of solid application and if proven true can win you Noble prize in Magic." (George)

"Can I use your theory to make changes in my own theory; I will submit both of them to the association." (George)

"I am sure that your contribution to the advancement of magic will be awarded a Noble Prize." (George)

"Sure, Why not? Do as you see fit." (Erik)
