Chapter 33 Commissioned by Asuna Kirito, Nirn Nonsense Ahoy!

Riding the trains back to the capital of Midgar wasn't an issue especially when I just took a nap in my first-class private cabin that was warded to keep people out. But once I stepped out I realized something was... Off with the people in the capital of Midgar, they seemed lethargic and exhausted beyond what could be explained.

'Did the Cult do something?' I couldn't help but wonder as I eyed the people who were literally stumbling along their way but I heard Bhudda grunt within my soul.

"Nah, kid their souls have all been touched when they slept the night before. I can tell they lost a bit of their life force." The Sage explained and I frowned at those words as nothing the Cult could do that I knew of would be able to cause such an incident.

Then it hit me. I was looking at this in the eyes of someone still thinking only the Cult of Diabolos was the issue. No there was a whole ocean of issues just on the other side of the dimensional pond and I think I knew exactly what was going on.

"Vaermina's ethereal dream realm has already touched upon this world hasn't it," I said with my frown tightening as I could already see people being used as fuel in some kind of Deadric ritual like the one that, that priest Vaermina in Skyrim used and we either broke the skull of Vaermina or took it for our own but still ended the ritual that was affecting Dawnstar in the game.

Instead of Buddha answering I felt Scathach rise up within my soul with her speaking in her husky voice that tickled my soul. "Correct, it's likely that over the last few days, Vaermina has twisted some people's heads into worshipping her and thus allowing her to pilot their bodies while they sleep and are reveling within her insane realm of nightmares and idle dreams seeing as even she cannot manifest within this realm besides within the dreams of mortals," Scathach confirmed my thoughts and I had to take a breath as I didn't fucking expect Vaermina, one of the pure evil Daedra's to get involved in this world first...

Was it wrong of me to wish it was Dommy Mommy Merida instead?

Anyway, with proof of that confirmation, I clearly knew dealing with Vaermina's bullshit was more important than being a guest teacher at the magic knight school but I couldn't get around the capital unchallenged... "Whelp looks like I need to pay Alexis and Iris a visit," I muttered as I was more than aware that Iris and Alexis would be a potent tool in helping me find out the site of worship for Vaermina's cult that was growing here in the capital.

So I made my way back to Gamma's indoor mega mall she was in charge of and once I arrived, I took one of the elevators into the underground floors where Shadowgarden members typically rested when they weren't on assignment here in the Capital.

"Sir, it's nice to see you here again so soon." The security agent greeted me and I didn't give her any trouble as I let her thoroughly inspect me to make sure I was in fact who I said I was. "Would you like me to send a notice to Lady Alpha and the other Seven Shade members on site?" She asked and I nodded.

"Yes, 232, please send them a message to meet me in... Which meeting room is open?" I asked and she looked at her pamphlet and told me so I nodded and told them to meet me there.

So I went and sat down in the meeting room with some notes and observations I had gathered already and within not even two minutes of me sending out the call I heard Delta on the way... You know when you have a stained wood or linoleum floor and the dog comes around the corner too fast and you can hear their feet scratching across the ground before with a loud thudding noise they run into the corner or directly into a wall due to them running too fast.

I could literally hear Delta as she instead of smashing into the wall or corner instead leaped into the air so she could use the momentum to stick herself to the wall for the second she needed to push off the wall even faster down the hall towards me and as she threw off the door to the meeting room I could only smile wryly as Delta's large floofy tail wagged frantically at the sight of me.

"Boss you are back already!" She roared excitedly and I could actually feel my ribs scream in protest before she even made contact with me via her leaping dive of a tackle, as though my body was already conditioned to seeing the black-haired beauty leaping at me and thus activating my pain sensors.

But either way, I just smiled indulgently as I scratched Delta's head between her black dog ears atop her head making her snicker, chuckle, and just chortle like the overly excited dog beastkin she was. "Delta worked super hard killing all those Cult weaklings in the alleys and catacombs in the city Boss!" Delta enlightened me excitedly and I couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of Delta's excitement-filled purple eyes and wagging tail as I did the obvious thing and started congratulating her as the other Seven Shades filled the room that was in the area.

"Yes, Delta is the best girl," I whispered to her and her tail thumped across the ground loudly as I patted her one last time on the head with Alpha and Beta coming into the room. "Now be a good girl and go sit to listen we have a new target to hunt." I said and her eyes tightened at the words 'hunt'

Gods, she somehow inherited Heracles berserker insanity and she was probably even more excitable and uncontrollable than in canon.

But as Zeta, Alpha, Beta, and Delta sat in front of me I lost that easy-going smile as I took a deep breath and spoke. "Ladies, we have a major issue. The merging of realms is starting to show itself as one of the evil Daedric Princes has begun touching upon the minds of the people of this world with a cult of their followers had already taken root here in the capital." I eyed the girls who sharpened stiffened at the news of one of Nirn's gods already making moves here in the realm and after I explained it was Vaermina who was causing issues to the people they understood what needed to be done.

We were fairly well versed in magic so we knew that with Vaermina's realm being so far away she had no chance of actually forcefully manifesting on this plane thus for a ritual that affected such a massive city filled with hundreds of thousands of souls there would a large and magically potent ritual site we could destroy and even hurt her via breaking her tether. The gods within myself even saying that they would happily assist in punishing Vaermina for her actions of touching the souls they already claimed.
