CHAPTER 93

"Finally…" Houryu's signature wicked smile appeared on his face as he realized that his body had finally adapted to the spiritual energy, and he was almost back at his peak. Unfortunately, he had reduced his healing speed by quite a lot, due to burning up a lot of his phoenix heart essence blood, but that would fix itself soon enough now that he was now adapted to the current spiritual energy, flowing around.

Sylvia put her paw on his lap, bringing his attention to her. Houryu picked her up and brought her into his lap, patting her head, but Sylvia wanted something else as she pointed to her open mouth, "Kyuuuu…" she let out a small cry.

"Haha…" Houryu chuckled as he realized that she was hungry as she hadn't eaten since they got to this world… or to be fair, she didn't really need to eat as she could survive on just spiritual energy alone, something that all mythical beasts could do. Houryu and Sylvia actually only ate because of the taste, and it gives them a sense of filling.

Houryu started bringing out different delicacies already cooked and still steaming as he always made sure to visit 5-star restaurants to borr… I mean stock up on different delicious foods, just freshly cooked.

It was only while doing this that he remembered where he was and looked at the people who were just looking at him astonished at the fact that he just started bringing out food like he was here for a picnic.

"... What?" He asked like he didn't understand why they were looking at him weirdly,

"... Carry on…" He said and went back to bringing out more food, ignoring them like they weren't even there.

He and Sylvia began eating while watching them set up tents and take the injured Yuhao and Qui'er inside so they can give them better treatment.

As they took them inside, Houryu managed to notice that Qui'er seemed to have started healing up and it was abnormally fast for a human, but at the same time, not fast enough for someone who had taken Houryu's blood, 'Seems like she finally started healing, but what the hell is with that slow healing speed… or did my blood lose some of its healing effects due to burning up most of my phoenix heart essence blood,' He wondered.

'Should I test it with Yuhao…?'

'...Nah, it doesn't really matter anyway, I don't plan to go around giving my blood out like healing potions,' He concluded.

Cai Mei'er had looked around and so had the students, yet they were at a loss for what had happened and the only thing that told them that a fight had happened were the obviously devastated surroundings and the six identical spirit bones that were just lying around.

After not being able to gain any information, she ended up walking up to where Houryu was having an 'all you can eat' buffet.

"... Master Houryu, could you tell me what happened to my students," she asked gracefully as soon as she was in front of Houryu.

"... Oh, that… first that Wang Qui'er pulled me along like some 'handbag' while they were running from your dark spirit master friend… speaking of which, what happened to the other two dark spirit masters?" Houryu responded.

"... About that…"

"... We managed to kill one of them, but the other one escaped, and…" Cai Mei'er was struggling to give the full details as Houryu may end up flipping, given that he already seemed a bit annoyed that Wang Qui'er pulled him like a 'handbag'.

"... And what?" Houryu asked as he noticed the hesitation in her voice.

"...The dark spirit master that escaped… may have found out your pet's specie and gotten away with the information," she said hesitantly, half expecting him to lose it as soon as he heard that.

"... Is that all… I mean, sure you guys were incompetent in letting him escape, but him having that information does nothing but brings more cockroaches for me to stomp to oblivion," Houryu expected the matter to be something worse, but it was just this. He didn't really mind the challenge from the dark spirit master, and it was even better if he came with company.

He'd get to beat up some people, gain some interesting resources from them if he was lucky and find a way or a lead to accelerate Sylvia's growth if he was luckier.

Houryu turned back his attention to Cai Mei'er who still stood before him, "For the rest of the details of what happened here, ask your students, I'm no longer in the mood to explain," he said to her as he lay back down on the grass, even though he could actually just show her the memory with his Sharingan, but he didn't feel like it as he was feeling lazy.

Cai Mei'er left after realizing that Houryu wasn't going to bother telling her anything of what happened, and she wasn't going to push for it, as it was something she could find out when either Yuhao or Wang Qui'er wake up.

As Houryu lay down on the ground while waiting for Sylvia to finish eating, he decided that it was about time he left this group and started moving on his own. Sure, he was back at his peak and could now take care of most issues that would likely arise even if he stayed around, he wasn't really inclined to stay around 'trouble magnets' and also the added fact that he wanted to get away from Wang Qui'er.

Some would say that he should face his emotions and give himself a chance and that he was running away from his feelings… but how could he not. Sure, he had lived more than 5000 years, but let's not forget that he had spent those years in pain and even before then he was already emotionally scarred, so he knew he wasn't ready for anything like love. He wasn't ready… and was scared to feel that much for someone again, only to lose the person.

He wasn't omnipotent nor omniscient and could not prevent anything. He was fighting against his fate, but let's face it… fate had been winning since he was born. He wasn't powerful enough to defy fate then and even with the power he had right now, there were still many things he could not stop.

'Maybe if we meet again after today… but who am I kidding… unless some kind of dumb luck is at work, I'll probably never meet her again until I find a way to leave this world,' He thought as he rose up from the ground and looked at the tent where she was recovering.

Without any warning Houryu's body caught fire and started to expand, alerting the group as they watched in astonishment what was going on as Houryu grew in size and reformed until he fully transformed into his phoenix form and spread his wings wide.

Sylvia, lying on the ground after finishing her meal, started to float, and then a ball of fire surrounded her as she continued to float on Houryu's side as he flapped his wings and took off into the sky.
