Let's Make It More Fun

It didn't matter to Jessica that Jimmy would come with her. She wasn't planning to flee anyway. Satisfied with Jimmy's answer, Jessica set up a wide grin and said, "Great! When will we depart?"

"There is nothing to prepare for, so let's leave now," he answered and raised from his throne. Turning his head to a Mad Demon, he shouted, "Prepare the Flying Demonic Beast."

The Mad Demon hurried away with heavy stomps, leaving the marble floor shaking in fright. The dull stomping sounds echoed off the walls and tiny cracks spread from under the demon's feet.

Under Jimmy's lead, he and Jessica walked out of the hall and toward a winged demonic creature. It was nearly the size of a van and void of feathers. It had more similarities with a bat than a bird. Its black pop-eyes glared at Jessica and left her in disgust of it.

It looked hideous!

Jimmy stepped next to its wings and used them as steps to its back. He plummeted with his butt onto its back. Sitting steadily, he turned his head to Jessica and said; "Are you coming?" with a big grin on his lips.

'Don't stress me,' thought Jessica and walked up the creature's wings to sit behind Jimmy.

"LET'S GOOO~" shouted Jimmy with a wide grin on his lips and slapped the winged demonic creature on the head.

*GRAAWK~*

The demonic creature screeched in a horrifying voice and flapped its wings, setting off into the air and flying towards the nearest human village.

The winds howled by Jessica's ears and torrents of violent wind blasted her silver hair backward. Slowly, she slithered her hands around Jimmy's waist and hugged him from behind.

"Don't misunderstand me. I'm just doing this so that I won't fall off!" said Jessica as Jimmy turned around and looked at her.

"Obviously~" laughed Jimmy, showing his white teeth, and widened his grin till it nearly reached his ears.

'He is more muscular than I imagined. It feels like I'm hugging a rock,' thought Jessica and tightened her grip.

Minutes flew into an hour and Jessica could finally see the beginning of a forest. It was a pleasant change for sure. The desolate land of the demons filled with stench wasn't enjoyable after all.

'Should I explore the town on my own? I'm sure that would be way more fun,' pondered Jessica and loosened her grip around Jimmy's waist.

Unnoticed by him, she pressed her palm against the winged demonic beast and explored its gene. It seemed like a mess made of a bat, vulture, and bear.

Jessica closed her eyes and focused her attention on her own gene. After a few seconds, she understood the general structure of her gene and the demonic beast ones. "I think that should do it."

She laid her hand on her chest and clutched it tightly. Under the sound of tearing cloth, a pair of bat-like wings sprouted on her back. Luckily, the howling wind was so loud that Jimmy didn't notice anything.

"So far, so good," she thought and laid her hand on the demonic beast again.

As she tightly clutched its skin, her hand turned ashen-black and blazing spots emerged on it. The embers crept along her veins and etched black lines into her skin, turning it to cinder.

"Just a little longer," prayed Jessica with gritted teeth, grinding them on another in pain.

And finally, at the same time as her magic ran out, she finished changing its gene. The winged demonic creature slowly decreased in size and its neck became longer. It began to change into a pure-raced vulture without genetic changes.

Jimmy's smile faded and he shot his gaze back to Jessica.

"Sorry, Jimmy! But I think it will be more fun this way," laughed Jessica with a big grin on her lips and jumped off the creature, falling toward the ground.

"Hahaha~. Let's make a bet! The first one at the town wins!" she shouted and extended her wings, flying in the same direction as the demonic creature did before.

Jimmy raised from his sitting position on the creature and stood with an emotionless expression on it. The demonic creature kept shrinking in size and was now the size of a wolf. With Jimmy on its back, it rapidly lost in height and shot toward the ground.

Shortly before they crashed into the forest, Jessica glanced a last time back at him. Instantly, a pugnacious grin cracked onto Jimmy's lips and small, blood-red horns drilled out of his hood.

"DEAL~" he loudly hissed and disappeared into the forest.

"... Oh no. Did I make a mistake?" she wondered. "No that can't be. He can't fly!"

Casting the distracting thoughts aside, she flapped her wings faster and hurried through the air.

Minutes later, she could feel her wings aching. It was too tiring to fly for such a long time, constantly flapping the wings at least a few hundred, maybe even thousand, times.

"Urghh~ I'm hungry. And my wings and hands hurt~" wailed Jessica.

"I think I have no other option than to land in the forest and find something to eat."

As the flapping of her wings decreased, she lost in height and slowly approached the ground. Suddenly, she saw two humanoid silhouettes in the forest. "Oh, humans. Maybe they have some meat to spare for me."

Her tummy was already growling in starvation, making her feel somewhat unwell. And additionally, her magic was drained from changing her and the creature's genes. She was really tired and needed sleep.

"I should land further away from them or they will know I'm a witch," she thought and landed a few trees away from them.

Taking a deep breath and biting her teeth, she clutches her chest again and changed her gene with the last bit of magic which she collected during the flight. Her wings disappeared under her skin and she looked like a normal human being again.

"Pahhh~" she released her breath and said, "that should do it."

Slowly and cautiously, she approached the two hunters in front of her. Each one of them was clad in a leather armor and had a sword attached to their waists. One of them wielded an ax and the other one held a bow and arrow, ready to shoot at any time.

Jessica tilted her head to the side with a cracking noise and took a deep breath. "I got this," she whispered and cleared her throat.

"Ahhh~" she screeched and ran towards the hunters. "A- A demon! There is a demon! Help me!"

My current aim is to enter the top 12 of the RTW-competition ranking.

I would be glad if you guys could support me.
