In the woods

Gavin started laughing with Gabby. Their laughter was cut short, they stopped when they heard something, but they didn't pay much attention to it thinking it was probably just a squirrel. Turning back to look at each other, after they looked at the direction the noise came from, Gavin said:

- Sorry, I guess it was a little cheesy.

Gabby just chuckled and said:

- It is okay I hear those kinds of things all the time.

Gavin looked at her a little confused; surly she didn't have another admirer. She definitely had the looks so it wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary if she did, but Gavin has never seen anyone else flirting with her. With these thoughts filling Gavin's mind he didn't notice that a sad frown appeared on his face. However Gabby did notice and it's safe to say she panicked a little.

- N-not that it was directed at me…

Gavin looked up at Gabby, she put her hand over Gavin's intertwined hand that were resting on his lap. He looked down at Gabby's hand and then back at her.

- Ace and Eve are always flirting with each other, no matter who's near so I hear a lot of the cheesy stuff that they say to each other.

Gabby finished her previous sentence while smiling sweetly at Gavin. Gavin smiled back and the continued to covers in total oblivion of what was going on around them. The thing that they heard earlier was slowly making its way towards them from behind. Its bright wolf like eyes were fixated on them, its slight, quiet growling was getting more and more quiet, as the creature, that was most definitely not a squirrel, approached behind them. It was minutes from pouncing on them when it heard a quiet set of footsteps and when it turned to that direction it saw two male figure silhouettes. I turned around and vanished the same way it came. Those two silhouettes belonged to Levi and Jay who heard laughter and went to check it out. Both of them arrived to where Gavin and Gabby were having their chat. Both Jay and Levi approached them. Gavin and gabby turned to them when they heard their footsteps.

- Hey, what are you two doing here?

Jay greeted the two with a smile and a slight hand wave as he went next to them. Levi however stayed in his spot, something seemed off to him. He looked around and his eyes landed to the place where the creature, that Gabby and Gavin heard, had been. Levi turned to the three people that were sitting on the rock.

- Was anyone else here with you?

He asked them. They looked at each other and then back at Levi.

- No, it was just us. Why?

Gabby asked.

- It seems like someone or something was lurking around here before we got here.

Levi moved some grass away, crunched down and said:

- It made a slight path right here.

Gabby got of the rock, went to Levi and looked to make sure. She saw what Levi was referring to. The grass was slightly trampled by some creature that was definitely a lot larger than a squirrel. She turned to Gavin and asked:

- Isn't this the spot that we heard some kind of noise coming from?

Her voice filed with concern, face laced with worry. Gavin went to her and checked out the spot.

- Yeah, I think it is.

Levi, who was listening to their conversation wasn't pleased at all, as a matter of fact he was furious. He wasn't angry at Gabby, no; he was slightly worried for her safety, although he didn't know why he even cared. He was only angry at Gavin for bringing Gabby to the woods, where the border of their territory was, where there have been several attacks on their people, where it's the most dangerous at the moment, where she could have gotten hurt, or worse she could have ended up like most of the victims of these attacks- dead. Something about those thought infuriated Levi, and the object of his hatred was Gavin.

- You heard something, yet you didn't hurry to get her out of here?!!

Levi shouted at Gavin, he grabbed Gavin's shirt and pulled him closer. They were face to face and you could see that Levi was ready to murder the guy in front of him. Gavin put his hands up as a sigh of surrender.

- Let me explain. I was right here with her, I could have protected her if something did happen.

Gavin tied to get out of this life threatening situation. He looked a little scared and a drop of cold sweat rolled down the side of his face.

- Oh really?! How exactly do you know that?! What if you can't, what then, huh?!?

Levi was drowning in fury and even he didn't even know why. Jay wanted to stop Levi from lashing out, but he was too scared to. Levi was about to hit Gavin, but Gabby stopped him.

- Stop it!! Don't hurt him! We didn't know what that was, we thought it was just a silly squirrel, how were we supposed to know.

Gabby was holding onto the arm that Levi was planning to hit Gavin with, while looking him in the eyes whit guilt, worry, and slight anger in her eyes. Levi didn't fail to notice this and he lowered his hand and let go of Gavin's shirt. Levi was still angry, but for some reason he just couldn't argue with Gabby. Levi turned away and Jay, who was no longer that scared of him, pulled him aside.

- Dude what was that? You can't lash out like that to a fellow pack member, especially in front of newcomers.

Levi was just standing there with a frown. He started walking away; he grabbed Gavin and began dragging him with him.

- We have to go meat with Ray, Jay you take her home safe.

Levi said walking away and passing Gabby on the way. Jay and Gabby were left standing there alone while Levi dragged Gavin away. Jay turned to Gabby.

- Anyway shall we go home? It's getting late.

Gabby just looked at him and nodded. She was still in the state of shock from how Levi acted earlier. Levi was a laidback guy, who didn't seem to care about anything. It was shocking how he lashed out like that. Even Jay hadn't seen him get like that over something so simple as a small animal threat in the woods. He only got that angry once before and back then he couldn't control his anger because someone really dear to him was threatened. Other than that there was no other time when Levi would even remotely care about anyone. But now he did that for Gabby, why? Even though Gabby was a little shaken she still noticed Jay's silence. Jay is rarely silent and he rarely has a serious expression on his face, however he had one on his face now and Gabby didn't like it.

- Hey, are you okay?

Jay came out of his thoughts and looked at Gabby. He gave her a reassuring smile.

- Yeah I'm okay. It's just rear for Levi to act like that.

Since Gabby didn't really know Levi, this was new information to her.

- Really?

Jay nodded.

- He usually doesn't care about anything. Or at least that's what it seems like to me.

- Yeah I got that impression of him too.

Gabby agreed to Jay. They didn't even notice how they were standing in front of Gabby's house. Gabby and Jay said their goodbyes and Gabby went inside her house and went to her room to rest. Meanwhile Jay was headed to the Ray's place, where he was supposed to meet with Levi, Ray and apparently Gavin. On his way there he kept trying to put all the pieces of Levi's strange act together. A few more steps and he had arrived at Ray's doorstep. He opened the door and saw the three men patiently waiting for him. They were sitting at the table, drinking some tea. Jay made his way to the table and sat down.
