New Life

It´s been a while since my parents died from a spaceship accident. I have been laying all day in my room, gazing at the universe out of my room window, thinking about, how did we end up like this. How did my sister and I deserve this?...

My name is Sasi. I just turned 17 last week. But I didn´t really celebrate my birthday, because of my parents' death. They died at the exact same day when I turned 7 years old. As of now, I´m studying Astrophysics in a private class. My dream job is to become an astronomer and work for SpaceX or NASA someday. I was working in a laboratory for science in nature last year. I love working in a lab, so I´m still thinking about going back there and work for some years in order to earn some Money. Now it´s the year 2456. Our beloved home planet Earth was destroyed by us humans. Population, environmental pollution, wars etc. Humans aren´t smart… really. We thought we could save our home planet, but everything failed. The presidents said they would do something against it, but they all were just lying right at our faces without any shred of shame, they must be pretty thick-skinned. They only cared about money and how to fill their pockets with it. Well, at least that is what I heard from my grandma. She told me that our family evolution lived on earth many years ago. But as she got to know as a child, our relatives died because of the problems which were caused.

I hate people, I never really liked them. A government company called "WBPB" what stands for "We build planet B" was working on technology stuff for the future. They wanted to safe the people from earth, and it took years for them, to build over 50 huge spaceships for the people who managed to survive earths dooms day. My parents once were among them. Now here I am. I´m just an ordinary 17-year-old girl who lives on a huge spaceship with other 800 people on board. This life is depressing. Just-… only the thought that we had such a beautiful life down there on a ball what was floating around the universe in a solar system with a beautiful and unique nature that we destroyed with our own hands. This is ridiculous! My great grandma from my relatives side, who lived on earth at that time, always said: "God gave us a beautiful little world, where we all had our chances to make something beautiful together out of it. Now see, what we have done to our precious gift from God.". My grandma was so right…

My little sister Aleyna must study at our home base. Because my parents wanted it like that, most likely it´s better for her too. She still got some friends though or sometimes she just spends time with grandma, grandpa and me. But our aunt Susi is like a mother to both of us. So, when our grandparents are busy, we are in her care. But I´m rarely here. I´m outside most of the time. We have a huge base full of spaceships and labs. I mostly spend time in the lab with my dear best friend Xenia. She is a bit older than me. Next month she will turn 21. Xenia is the daughter of MR. Gerhard Kolador. He is a pilot and first officer. Her mom, MS. Anna Kolador is best friends with my aunt Susi. They used to work together in the strictly private laboratories where they make experiments with chemicals and unfortunately with animals too sometimes. Xenia is the only close friend I got there. The other ones are unfortunately in the other spaceships. We both mostly video call them and hang out with them like that. We only meet up with them twice in 1 year. The spaceships are connected all together, so people can travel around like that by our high technology flying cars. We even got flying boards now. China has been working on a lot of high- techno stuff. That´s why they also got an own company with the second biggest laboratories in all the spaceships. They are so rich and popular. Most of the customers come there and look for special offers. My grandpa is a mechanic and he loves his company very much.

"HEELLOOOO!!"- Xenia screams and shocks me behind over my shoulder. "Oh my god, Xenia, please, how many times did I tell you to stop that? You always shock me the crap out of me!", I tell her. Xenia starts laughing- "I´m sorry Sasi. It´s just very funny what faces you make when you get shocked, ha-ha-ha!". I roll my eyes and Xenia takes one step closer to me, looking and watching me what I´m doing. "Are you writing your diary again?", she asks me with big eyes looking at me. "Ye- yeah?- Is this a problem?", I ask her with one eyebrow up. "Hmm…"- This is everything what came out of her mind. She slowly sits down beside me on the board in front of the huge window glass with the entire galaxy as the beautiful view in front of us. "You´re so quiet always, you must have a little fun and action, you know? I mean, I know, I feel sorry for what happened, but you must get over it soon… I know right, it isn't easy for you, but I´m always here for you.", Xenia pats my head and leans it against her shoulder. I take a deep sigh and push her away slightly. Silence between us. We both watch the stars passing the spaceship. "… I am glad you don´t have to deal with this. This feeling… It´s indescribable…", I tell her, looking at her with tears. She looks at me sadly and hugs me very tight. I have her blue hair on my face when she hugs me as I suddenly hear the sirens and alarms shouting: "Attention! Attention! Please get back to your home base! Attention! Attention! Please get back to your homebase!". The sirens keep repeating and we both get shocked. "What is happening?", I ask Xenia with a worrying face looking around. She grabs my arm and runs back to the general station. All people are running around in panic, trying to get their things and their people together to get back to their home base. Xenia tries to find her parents while my aunt shouts my name from behind: "Sasi! Come! We must hurry!". Without thinking I run to my aunt as suddenly the spaceship goes not straight, and I fall at a glass window which is about to break. My aunt looks at me shocked and goes in panic: "No! Wait, Sasi I´m coming to help you! Don´t move!". I fell on my arm in a wrong way while some pieces of the broken window get stuck in my arm and neck and head. I feel the blood running. Thank God my grandpa came here to help my aunt to get me out of this situation. "Okay Sasi, don´t move!", he shouts to me while he slowly tries to take steps to me on the broken window glass. I start crying full of pain as the glass continues to break. "Please grandpa help me! I can´t deal this, it hurts so much!", I shout to him while crying. My aunt tries to calm me down while grandpa ties a rope around his waist. The Spaceship keeps moving around, which doesn´t make the situation easy. "Screw this!", my grandpa says angrily and runs to me and at the exact moment the glass completely breaks as I scream, but grandpa caught me and quickly carries me to the ambulance station.

The pain makes me faint, and I see everything blurry as soon as I close my eyes. I only can hear my aunt and grandpa screaming: "Please help! We got somebody who is badly hurt!". The doctors take me to the ambulance room. Everything goes black around me and I completely faint.
