Chapter 1 - Huntingden Burrow

1373 - Huntingden Burrow

My four friends and I don't live in the capital, nor do we live in a large commercial city.

Come to think about it, it isn't even a town nor a small countryside village.

With a population of only 300, it can only be classified as an isolated settlement lost in time.

The houses in the small settlement of Huntingden Burrow are made up of detached and semi-detached rows of thatched cottages.

They weren't very large or spacious but most are two floors.

There is a centuries old mansion on the hill.

It is the only building in the entire settlement that has 3 floors and multiple rooms.

It has been unoccupied, unkempt and derelict for ages.

No one lives there, no one dares to go there.

We kids didn't understand why the adults always kept telling us "NEVER go to that derelict mansion on the hill! Promise me, never set foot in that mansion! There is a demonic guard dog stalking the mansion grounds! NEVER go to that mansion!"

Demonic guard dog eh?

Huh…

Impossible!

Have you ever heard of such a creature and do you think demonic guard dogs really exist?

No, I haven't.

Perhaps it's just a rumor the adults use to ensure we kids don't end up going on an adventure to the mansion which is out of bounds and off limits to everybody.

My four friends and I, like typical curious adventurers, decide to take an investigative trip to that mansion.

We grab our gear and head towards the monolithic structure on the hill in a steady trot.
