Chapter 24

It took about 3 months for Robin to reach Fish-man Island. During this time Robin went back to her sea king hunter mode and since she had taken a lot of seasoning and ingredients for side dishes she only had sea king meat as her main course. She barbecued it, boiled it, broiled it, baked it, sauteed it. She made Sea King meat-kebabs, Sea King meat creole, Sea King meat gumbo, She Pan fried it, deep fried it, stir-fried it. She even made pineapple Sea King, lemon Sea King, coconut Sea King, pepper Sea King, Sea King meat soup, Sea King meat stew, Sea King meat salad, Sea King meat, and potatoes, Sea King meat burger, Sea King meat sandwich.

She knew she was approaching Fish-man island as she had already detected a larger number of lifeforms together through her observation haki. At first, she could only see a giant illuminated bubble, it was like a beacon of light in the cold dark sea. As she got closer she realized that the light wasn't coming from inside the bubble but from the roots of a gigantic tree. She realized that the island resided in a giant double-layered bubble floating above the sea floor, seemingly filled with about half water and reef and half air. There was a palace resting in a smaller bubble on top of the main island's bubble.

Soon they approached the bubble and surprisingly as soon as Squirt touched the bubble she was absorbed into it. As soon as Squirt got into the bubble it startled many mermaids who were minding their own business, at first they were scared thinking it was rampaging sea King but when they realized that it wasn't aggressive in the slightest they calmed down and soon their curiosity got the best of them, especially the young merfolks started to slowly get closer , there on their toes rather on their tail fin ready to escape the moment the beast decided to be aggressive. The bravest soon touched the shell and sat on it, soon others followed him. Robin who sitting inside and watching all this chuckled but was saddened thinking even though she had two lifetimes she hadn't experienced childhood even once, shaking off the gloomy feeling she resolved she was going to enjoy enough this time so that even the deficit from her previous life will be filled. ( A/N Forgot to mention in previous chapters Squirts shell allows for people to see outside while inside the shell but people outside cannot see through the shell.)

Robin soon got out as they were about to surface, the kids were shocked when a small human suddenly appeared on the shell, kids being kids swam quickly towards the adults, even the adults, who were watching kids were surprised by the sudden appearance of the human child.

Robin didn't mind this as she herself wasn't sure how to approach this situation. Just as she surfaced she was greeted by a group of fish men who were pointing tridents towards her, they were floating on the ground and had a tube around their waists, in front of them was a giant-sized and muscular coelacanth merman.

The giant merman then spoke " Who are you? and why have you lead a Sea King here ?"

"I am Nico Robin, an archaeologist, I am just here for sightseeing. This here is Squirt, she is my ride and my partner, unless threatened she won't cause any trouble"

The merman was still not convinced, but he could see that the little girl had somehow tamed a sea king, before he could continue to question her further, a goldfish mermaid with golden blonde hair that was partially held up in two loops by an orange headpiece approached Robin.

" You really are Robin, professor Clover's apprentice, it's nice to meet you. I am Otohime Queen of Fish-man Island, and this here is my husband, King Neptune. We welcome you to Ryugu Kingdom. Please feel free to look around and do visit the palace once, there is so much I want to talk to you about." saying this the goldfish mermaid, Queen Otohime dragged her husband who was still wary of Robin back, seeing their King and Queen leave the guards also followed them back to palace.

Seeing that there was not going to be any more action even the crowd that had formed dispersed, a fish-woman from the crowd approached Robin and spoke " Miss the Queen has instructed me to help you during your stay in here, I recommend that you stay in the Mermaid cafe during your stay.

Robin although a bit sceptical of the fish-woman, thinking she might be a spy sent by the Queen to keep track of her whereabouts, still accepted the fish-woman's suggestion as she did need a place to stay and there were malicious intentions coming from either the Queen or this woman which helped Robin take her decision the faster.

And so Robin had finally arrived at Fish-Man island.
