Goliath

Officially made it to 300k viewers, quite a milestone to get this many viewers, though some might say it's little compared to others, I always celebrate this kind of achievement, no matter how big or small it is because it doesn't matter if others think it's insignificant, it's the little things also matters in the long run :)

Observing our surroundings, I noticed numerous bedrock walls enclosing the area.

"Stay alert. If you spot any signs of Bell's party, notify the rest immediately," Alfi instructed, and I rejoined the group. We were en route to the 16th floor. Sensing Hestia approaching from behind, I continued walking, and she joined my side.

"So... what do you think are the odds of Bell making it through?" she asked anxiously. While she held an unwavering faith in Bell's resilience, a subtle undercurrent of concern lingered in her thoughts.

"He will be fine" I answered without explaining

- Bell's POV -

After hours of meticulous exploration on this floor, taking refuge in small caves to reduce the risk of encountering monsters, we stumbled upon a staircase leading downward. Our hopes soared at the prospect of reaching a lower level where survival seemed more promising. However, as we descended to the bottom of the stairs, our expressions twisted into horror upon encountering the Goliath.

"We're too late," I uttered in despair.

"Damn it!" Welf punched the wall beside him in anger before collapsing onto the ground.

"Lili, what do we do now?" I turned to Lili for guidance, but she, too, was in a downcast mood.

"Th- there nothing we can do, our supplies are too little to go back up, and with our current level it's impossible to beat the goliath, all we can do is sit here and wait for potential rescue" Lili collapsed onto the ground as well, clearly disheartened by the hard work that seemed to have gone in vain.

I soon followed suit as we recovered at the entrance. No monsters pursued us, given that they instinctively kept their distance from the Goliath. As we regained our lost stamina, we waited for any signs of fellow adventurers to cross our path.

After hours of waiting and with our supplies depleted, our hope of survival dwindled with every passing second. Frustrated, I stood up.

"Huh, Bell?" Both Welf and Lili looked at me with confusion as I raised my hand to my chest.

"O flame, enchant my blade to aid me in my fight," I began to chant, alarming both Welf and Lili.

"Engulf my enemy with your flame, and leave nothing but ashes." A small flame manifested on my hand.

"Bell, what are you trying to do?!" Lili shouted, but I ignored her and fixed my burning gaze on the towering Goliath.

"That Goliath is blocking our escape, right? Then I'll eliminate it in one strike." I drove the flame into my dagger, enveloping the blade in flames. However, a new idea sparked in my mind. Visualizing the flame extending upwards to elongate my blade, a flaming sword emerged from my dagger.

"O flame, grant me strength, cover my very bones with your warmth, and protect my flesh with your shielding burn" I chanted again as a flame appeared I pushed a large amount of my mind into it and pushed it as well

The world slowed down for a moment but came back to normal and my confusion was apparent

I stared at the elongated flaming blade with determination, my eyes reflecting a newfound resolve. The Goliath, towering before us, became the singular obstacle to our survival. Welf and Lili, still puzzled and concerned, watched as I prepared to face the colossal foe.

"Bell, are you out of your mind? You can't take on a Goliath!" Welf exclaimed, his voice a mix of worry and disbelief.

"Bell, that thing is two levels higher than you!" Lili warned me

Ignoring their protests, I stepped forward but sensed both Lili and Welf grabbed onto me, I shook them off and pushed them with relative ease as both of them looked at me with disbelief

"I can't just sit here and wait for rescue. If we're to survive, I have to face this challenge head-on," I declared, looking at the towering and still Goliath and entered the room

The Goliath instantly noticed me and roared in anger as someone intruded into its domain. It swiftly sent a punch my way, but I reacted quickly, narrowly dodging the attack. Another punch followed, and I skillfully dodged backward, slashing at its fist and managing only to leave a small scratch.

Roaring furiously, the Goliath attempted to grab me with its massive hands, but I leaped out of harm's way, narrowly evading the attack.

'I need more power,' I thought, searching for ways to increase my strength. One skill remained untapped.

"Argonaut!" I shouted, and the sword enveloped in a sparkling blue aura materialized, its brilliance reminiscent of twilight. I recalled Goddess Hestia's words about this skill.

"A single hero strike to tip the balance," I mumbled under my breath. If it was indeed just a single strike, I needed to make it count. My gaze fixed on the Goliath's neck, setting my target with determination.

The Goliath, now enraged and recovered, charged toward me with thunderous steps, unleashing a powerful punch. Fearlessly, I faced the attack and, with a daring leap, landed on its arm, narrowly evading the crushing blow.

Swiftly, I ascended its colossal hand, a looming shadow beneath me. I instinctually dodged away as the Goliath, in its fury, missed its mark once again and inadvertently struck itself.

"ROAR!" The creature bellowed in pain as I climbed higher, reaching its neck. Assuming a determined stance, I concentrated all my strength into both hands and delivered a forceful strike to the Goliath's neck.

However, as I beheld the aftermath of my powerful blow, a wave of disappointment washed over me.

'Only a small cut,' I muttered under my breath, disappointed by the minimal impact on the Goliath's massive frame. The shoulder I stood upon trembled, and I braced myself for an imminent strike.

Closing my eyes in anticipation, I felt no impact. Perplexed, I opened my eyes to witness the Goliath's arm severed from its body, and Xian in the midst of delivering a strike.
