~Chapter 5~

Two months Later

I think I'm ready. I've been training with Leon for the past two months, after I decided to tell him about the rank complication. He took it very well, and told me that I had a very good reason for not revealing sooner. He helped me with my Mana controlling, and we also trained for the Alpha test.

Leon has been really helpful, he guided me until I got all the basics right, and could keep up with the class. I'm very grateful to have him, no one really supports me that much, or at all, so it's better to be grateful for who I have. I also learnt a lot about him.

He likes playing with sticks from the forest, but he hates splints, he likes chocolate milk, but hates sweets, he's a germophobe but likes dirt, and a lot of other weird things. I really enjoyed his company.

I also shared with him some of my likes and dislikes. I hate things that are too pink, but I love girly things, I like reading, but I don't have much books, I love dressing up, but I don't have that much clothes.

When I told him that last one, the next day, he surprised me. He changed my whole wardrobe and it looked like a walk-in closet. I thanked him by treating him to a mc Donald's buffet, which they give us in the cafeteria.

We don't really go out of town unless we are on vacation, or for essentials because we have a lot of work after the Alpha test. I was very nervous to enter, but Leon held my hand. "Don't worry, let's work together ok?" I nodded and felt a bit better.

At the fighting Arena

"So! as you all know, this is your test day. The rules are, no using more than 50% of your mana, when you cross the line between the arena and the school grounds, you are considered a watcher. If you're still in the arena after the limited time, you are a winter, and If one of you didn't sustain any injury, you are the Alpha of the pack. Then you get a 2 week vacation. Is that clear?" We all nodded.

"Ok, your time starts now. Begin." We all held our stance. The first to attack was a guy, whose name was Roy. He was very bulky and he looked stronger than he was, I don't know how I could tell. He was actually aiming for me. Then Leon stood in front of me and picked up the guy with one hand and tried to push him out of the arena.

While Leon and Roy were fighting, two more guys came and one tried to knock Leon out, the other just stood in front of me, trying to calculate where I'll move. Leon already taught me this. 'whenever they're standing in front of you waiting, they're trying to predict your moves. You have to be cunning, and outsmart the enemy.' And that's exactly what I did. I intended to move to the left and put him in a lock head in order to flip him out of the circle, but I swerved to the right a bit, and as expected, he followed my stance.

He bumped into the other student that was trying to attack Leon, and they fell over. I attacked, feeling faster than usual, and kicked Roy away from Leon onto the other 2 guys. The other 15 students tried to charge at us, but Leon kicked them out, he used about 20% of his Mana, and the rest of his energy, he relied on his training skills.

One by one, they were kicked out, remaining 6 more students, including Roy and the other two guys. They seemed to be targeting Leon, then use that time to kick me out, but when I saw that Leon was struggling too much and I was being only defensive, I started getting onto an offensive stance.

I ran so fast attacking each of them, I didn't think I would go any faster. I had only used 5% of my mana, and took Roy down, then the other two guys, and they were right near the line separating us from the school ground. The remaining 3 looked paralyzed. They were just staring at me. 'I can't imagine what would happen if I used 50%.' I was quite surprised with myself.

Then the horn was blown. "The tournament is over. Introducing the new Winter members of the Winter/Watcher pack. Roy Jameson, Liam O' Brianne, John Locke, Jacob Dave, Daniel Wayne, Carl Miller, Leon Prince, and lastly, Alpha Arabella White. Congratulations students, I'm expecting to see you in my classes in the future." What? I'm alpha...I actually made it.

"You made it Bella! I'm so proud of you. We need to do a celebration." Leon hugged me, and I hugged him back. It felt so good to be appreciated. I'm so happy!

The teacher called me to his office. "Arabella, congratulations, I knew you had it in you."

"Thank you sir"

"You realize that you have a vacation now, so I suggest it would be best if you visit your pack first before you want to go somewhere else, you know?" I stiffened. right.

I made a promise to respond to the invitation.

"Yes sir, thank you for reminding me. I'll go pack right now, and thank you for putting your trust in me from day 1. I'm very grateful" I smiled. He looked teary and also smiled. 'He's like a grandpa'.

I told Leon the situation and he said I should 'come back early to choose him as my beta'. He's very funny. I hugged him and got on the train. "Good bye Bella!! Come back soon! Don't keep all the nachos I gave you to yourself." I just laughed and relaxed on the train seat. 'It felt nice to finally accomplish something, with help from my teacher and big brother.' Then I drifted off to sleep, with my mind fully at peace.
