upgrade token and dawn city

when ken holding mary in a princess hug was just a few minutes away from the dawn city , he burst into sudden laughter scaring the cute girl in his arms ..

" sorry mary , I just remembered something funny . dont mind me .." ken lied to Mary and apologised for suddenly scaring her .

the reason behind his unusual laughter was because of the monthly item that system gifts him every month . ken had forgotten about confirming the new items as he was cultivating and enjoying his new flying ability afterwards. so meeting mary calmed him down and he found the time to confirm it with maniac . the item this time truly made ken so happy that he couldn't help but laugh loudly.

maniac told him that he was provided with an upgrade token this time and there were just few days left till his next monthly item . this upgrade token was the culprit behind Ken's unusual outburst. maniac told him that upgrade token was a rare system item that could be used to upgrade one single item purchased or gifted by system .

ken thought about it and when he asked if it could upgrade the time chamber , maniac confirmed it was possible . maniac told ken that the upgrade token was one of the most rare item in the system shop and it was only possible to get it though random monthly draw . its function was to upgrade a single item to its peak so ken was told that the time chamber could be upgraded and the benefits would be much better than before .

maniac with his usual unemotional tone informed ken that after the upgrade , the cost required would increase a bit but then one minute outside would be equal to 100 days inside the time chamber . after hearing this beautiful information ken found the unemotional voice of maniac the most soothing melody in the world and couldn't help but burst in laughter after thinking about the too good to be true benefits.

after apologising to mary , ken calmed down and instructed maniac to immediately use the upgrade token and upgrade the time chamber . ken couldn't care less about the increased cost while using it and just looked forward to the the upgraded chamber . maniac told ken that a day 24 hours were required for the update to complete and ken obviously couldn't use the time time chamber in that time. ken heard it but chose to not pay attention to the time required as it was not much disturbing for ken anyway . he could easily wait for a month much less a single day

" mary , we are going to arrive soon " ken looked at her cute eyes and said casually which caused mary to blush . " are there rules regarding flight in the city premises? "

" no , not in the dawn city . it's only a small city where the most powerful mayor is only a peak spirit core realm cultivator . other big cities have such rules and the security is very strict. father told me that the security in every city under our Atom empire due to the new order established by king Atom the seventh ."

" oh ? .. " ken was surprised as he didnt expect that there would be empires in the cultivation world . looks like there was a need for him to know the power structure of this world for reference . " aren't there any powerful sects that rule the empire ? " ken decided to clear some simple doubts with mary first .

" I heard that other empires are under the protection of many powerful sects but our Atom empire doesn't rely on such backing after the new king ascended to the throne fifty years before " ken was surprised because this king seems to know the right thing. an empire couldn't possibly thrive under the rule of a sect which only protected it casually because they want to suck their resources dry . ken decided to remember this king Atom the seventh and would meet him if fate allowed .

ken asked a few more simple questions about the structure of the Atom empire and got some answers from Mary. while they were busy talking, the city came into view . it was different from what ken had imagined . the walls were towering and protected thr city and there was the huge iron gate which was more than 20 meters tall . a few soldiers were stationed outside the gate and inspecting every one who wanted to enter the city strictly which impressed ken as he believed in discipline.

ken landed at the end of the straight line to wait for his turn with Mary as he didnt want to break the rules due to his personality. ken saw the huge line and confirmed that there were at least a hundred people lined up before him . so it looked like Ken's turn would come after a long time. ken watched the procedure the officers followed and came to know that it was simple as they checked some identity papers of the people and recieved the tax of some coins that ken deduced to be the currency here . there was an artifact that looked like a simple glass sphere which was being used for something . it interested ken so he spread out his divine sense and found out its use . the artifact was a type of lie detector that was used to confirm whether someone was disguised or not . there array used was basic so ken knew about it with his knowledge and confirmed that it could see through the disguise of any cultivator till spirit core realm besides the complex techniques . ken was impressed as it was a fine security procedure for a small city where the strong cultivaore rarely visited .

ken asked mary about the currency and found out that it was called simply gold coins . the currency of the empire was like this -

100 gold coins equal a purple coin

1000 purple coins equal a low grade spirit stone .

ken found out the currency rate here and confirmed that spirit stones were a luxury in small cities like the dawn city . mary told him that the low grade stones were rarely used in the auction inside the city sometimes and the most expensive items were purchased with purple coins .. half an hour late finally the turn of mary and ken arrived and they met a beautiful lady officer who was in charge for checking them ...
