The Crown Of Ice and Blood

I find myself dreaming about foggy voices and lights and outlines of people. The only thing clearly pictured is a girl, laughing maniacally as she swings her sword above her head, then back down, creating a sickening squelching scraping sound upon impact of an unseen target. Blood partially coats her body, her face cruel and unrecognizable, her hair braided into a crown atop her head. She looks up and sees me, her wicked grin widening. She takes a step towards me, her eyes flashing evily. She readies her sword to strike, and I step back and find myself teetering on a cliff's edge. She thrusts her sword, and just as her blade reaches me, the dream turns back to mist and I snap awake to the early morning light, lying in a pool of sweat. **Fair warning! This is my first completed story, and I'm the proud mom to it. However, I do realize I've made Asta a slight bit Mary Sue, so forgive me for that. I do apologize, and I do promise I am attempting to perfect my writing, but it takes time, and this work is far from perfect. Lots of love!

Chapter 22

I rip out the sword from the giant's chest, then look to see how the others are doing. The wolf rips one giant in half, and Loki seems to be fine with battling two at the same time. One advances towards me, and I ready myself to fight him, but Fenrir jumps into the air and pounces onto the giant, biting his head off with a growl.

I take a breath, trying to steady myself when something comes whizzing through the air and smashing into the ground, causing dirt and dust to be thrown up into the air. I shield my face from the debris, then look up to see Thor standing there.

"Brother, so good of you to join us, although I regret to inform you that you've missed the party." Loki says, collecting his knives out of the fallen giants.

"Loki, what happened?" He asks, looking around at the bodies on the ground, then to me.

"I returned a favor and in the process gathered vital information regarding the upcoming invasion." Loki replies, then turns to Fenrir. "Your help was very appreciated, now run along." The giant wolf jumps up and away, running down the hill.

"Stark, send the transport." Thor says, and I freak out. I back away, and without realizing it, I raise the sword.

"I'm not going back to a cage." I say as a truck-like thing zooms into the clearing and parks next to him.

Thor laughs. "Of course you're not! You destroyed it, remember?" A small smile tugs on the corners of Loki's mouth, but I don't share their humor. I'm not going back to being imprisoned.

"Look, this has been fun and all, but I'm leaving." I back away, and Thor shakes his head.

"Stark wants you to come back with us. Come, we shall feast for your victory." He gestures to the bodies on the ground. I turn to run, but a jolt of electricity smacks me in the back and knocks me down. I face-plant on the grass, and strong hands lift me up and I'm thrown over Thor's shoulder. I thrash about, desperately trying to free myself as he walks back to the transport. When we reach the vehicle, he releases me and I once again fall to the ground. I raise my hands to try to ward off any more, and he presses something metal to my wrists, and my hands are cuffed by an intricate set of cuffs.

Shit.

My puppy says hi!
