Chapter 2- The Black Demon
2065, September 5, Oymyakon, Russia.
It's very cold and snowy. The vision for a human in that climate is merely up to a one-meter range. No wonder why 'Oymyakon' is called the coldest city in the world. Now the city is completely isolated because of the research going on there.
A huge research facility that looked like a 'Nuclear power plant', but it has triple the size of an ordinary Nuclear power station. The inside of the research plant is enormous, with a lot of huge storage containers marked with danger signs in them, mostly in Russian and English. A red light is beeping in that facility, "Warning" a background alarm went on. The researchers there are in a chaotic predicament. All of them are wearing a familiar white lab coat and some of them are running around with a touchpad in their hand.
"The fusion reactor is overloading, I need help to manually override the reactor", a black guy called out for help, then suddenly someone went with him. Seeing that a female researcher walked past him in hurry. She is a mature, white, adult, American woman. She also has a touchpad in her hand, with a lot of statistical information in it, and that info is peaked. She reached the major control room, where they can see the reactor almost through a window and also the core of the reactor on the monitors. She sees a black element inside the reactor via a screen. Boris Otton is there. He looked like a solid Russian man with a small mustache and beard, he is in his forties, "that element looks alive'', the female who entered the room just now said,
"Sir, I think we need to evacuate forthwith".
She gave Boris the data, he looked at that info very curiously, and started to scratch his head,
"haa..what the fuck is this?", in Russian slang. "The NVE fiction went competently, we were so close to collecting the negative energy, now we need to repeat everything from the beginning...Susan, We need to collect the black element from the reactor, a small portion is enough, also start the evacuation procedure..". Susan, "Yes. I need to say something to you."
She looks at Boris with a fascinating face, "We haven't seen this much constructive result regarding controlling the NVE, humanity is going to change because of your work, sir". She walks away to do the thing told by Boris. "Thank you, Madam. Now we don't have any time for this and all, you should hurry..." Susan went away.
The snowfall outside became calmer, and a lot of choppers are flying away from that research lab. Boris also enters a chopper alone, he takes his phone and connects with Susan, "Susan, hope no one is in the lab anymore... and do you have the sample of the element?"
Susan is on another chopper with some fellow researchers, they are looking at the touchpad analyzing the live data from the reactor. "Yes, everyone is departed from the lab, and yes, I have the sample." Boris, "be safe I need to meet you after this chaos, and please don't call me sir anymore...", Both of them flew into the sky, and the helicopter went away from the lab. Boris, "Susan can you hear me?", the lab is getting distanced from them, "Yes, I can, Boris. It looks like something is interfering with the communication network." Suddenly the signal between them was lost. "Manual Overriding Activated", the pilot looks at the screens on the helicopter" the network which connects the chopper with an AI is not working, he suddenly activates the radio transmission," Roger that, can you hear me?" The other pilot from another helicopter replied, "Roger, Yes I can."
"Looks like the AI is not responding, we need to manually override it or wait for re-establishment..."
"Roger, it's the same situation over here, can you ask the senior supervisor what to do?"
Boris," what's happening? Susan, can you hear me?" Boris looks around, he looks at the other choppers which are flying around him, and he also looks at the research facility with a binocular, he can see the facility very clearly.
Pilot, "Sir I think we need to do an emergency landing here now, the network is bricked right now, I am manually riding this chopper, I don't know how much time this will hold up exactly, it is risky to fly now without the support of AI. "Boris didn't reply, he looked at the research facility. Susan is also confused, her touchpad is not working, a fellow crewmate, "what's happening? This pad is dead, black screen?" Susan also searches for her binoculars, she gets them and looks at the research facility. "Hey, what's happening there?"
"Sir, I need an answer,...Sir.." the pilot sighs and he initiates to land the chopper, "Roger, can you hear me? I am landing the Chopper." Suddenly something happened, an electric impulse went by, the air vibrated, the helicopter started to malfunction, and an alarm sound started beeping, beep...beep. Boris looked at the facility, and the facility started vibrating. One of Susan's crewmates saw the box which was vibrating, "hey". Susan also notices the research facility shuddering, "what the hell?" and she felt a pulse in the chopper, in that box, which has the black element. Susan looked at the box, "we need to throw away that box, ASAP", one of the crew mates said.
The box started to vibrate like crazy, Boris also sees the same phenomenon in the research facility. "I don't think that it will be a good idea to touch that box," a researcher in Susan's chopper said. An eerie sound started to hear from the air, and the air starts to tickle everyone on Susan's chopper. Susan unconsciously moved her hand into the box. Fear, she can feel it, that eerie sensation, on that cold itself she suddenly started to sweat, it had the smell of DEATH.
Suddenly the vibration stopped. Boris, "Oh no...". Huff, a black thing suddenly appeared for a second, wrapped around the facility and it is gone, a shock wave went away. Everyone started to hear a scream, a scream of a lady in pain, Boris's ear began to hurt, and the pilot couldn't safely land the chopper. Boris couldn't hear anything, he looked outside and saw choppers going down out of control and two of them colliding with each other in the air and exploding. He can feel that he is going to crash. Boris's ear is bleeding, bump, the helicopter crashed into the snow.
Everything is dark,
"si...
si...
sir... Sir?"
the pilot wakes up Boris, he occurs to be in the snow. His ear is not completely back to form. The pilot rubbed Boris's hand, "What happened?"
Pilot, "Everyone crashed..."
The chopper is not damaged that much, because it is made with more than some military-grade types of equipment. Boris sits down, "I need to speak with Susan immediately. Help me."
The pilot takes a phone," hopefully the network is reestablished sir, help is on the way, here is your phone." Boris tried to connect with Susan, but he couldn't.
Boris,"haa...I think We need to find a crashed chopper.."
"Don't worry sir, help is on the way."

52 Hours later,
The snowfall in Jicama was severe after that incident, and the temperature dropped even below normal, it touched -60C. Boris is walking in the snow, with some soldiers, also his pilot accompanied him. They reached a crash site, Boris got an awful face when he saw that crashed chopper in front of him. The chopper is broken into two pieces, he sees the dead crewmates, one of them is split into half and his internal organs are dripping frozen blood. He walked close to the chopper, he whispered, "Susan", and his lips shivered. He finally saw a hand which is holding onto a metal holder of a box. But the box is not there. He looked at the body, he sees the lab coat id, it is Susan, her face is not there, it is ripped like something cut out her face from top to chin vertically. He can see her brain, eyeball socket, and throat, very clearly, everything is frozen. Boris is shocked after seeing her like that, her hands were also like that, torn. Tears started to come from Boris's eyes, they froze while dropping down.

2066 London
Boris is walked into an imperial room. The room has a wooden finish overall, giving a historical vibrant to it. There are a lot of aesthetic paintings, small statues, and antiques. On the ceiling, there are flags of every country. The guards who entered the room left after delivering Boris. "Welcome to the court of the world, Mr. Boris Otton", a lady in the center of the round table spoke, He looked at the round table, it's huge. Many seats were absent. But there are some members. They are the leaders who are representing their nations. They are primarily from India, the USA, China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, and so on. It's like the ones who are not presented are the ones from the least dominant countries and vice versa.
"So Mr. Boris, this is your first time here right?" the lady spoke. She is old, grey, has wrinkles on her face, with black hair, and wearing a custom-made black and white coat.
"You can sit there or you can roam around inside the table, that's said you can't attack or disrespect anyone on the table, it will be a dishonor for the court." Boris, "What will be the retribution for that?... Mrs?." I'm sorry, I am 'Marium' one who exemplifies the counties presented here today, and for your information, there is no punishment for what you've asked right now. This is a court for peace and unity, you need to act like that. Clarification, everyone needs to conduct appropriately. Now I am commencing the trail to begin." She hits on her table, a classic court method.
Boris sits on the wooden chair which is placed in the center of the round table. He looks upward and he sees a round hand-made big globe which is spinning, "haa...", Boris looks tired and sad, his beard is grown also his mustached, it's white. "So why am I here? I told everything that happened on Oymyakon to all the CIA, and The Intelligence in the past months, you people are brandishing me and squandering the time you all have."
The US President, "We need an overview of what happened in Russia, with your mouth."
Boris sighs, "Look I lack patience and I said this to everyone, the research facility went away in an instant like it was not there from the beginning itself.
The PM of India looked like a 40-year-old man, educated, he is bald, wearing a pair of glasses, "Thank you for your forbearance, Mr. Boris, we need to hear a well-summarised answer of what happened there. How did that happen? And most importantly what did you find out from what went on?"
Boris smirks lightly," I had a sense before entering this room. I tell you, people, the truth with some scientific data, well-explained understandable data, and I thought you people won't understand a fu... sorry, candy, that I said because you people are some bunch of old gags who only know about some political bullshits that needed to be changed. Many of you don't know about the fundamentals of science. But I think ..."
The Russian President suddenly stands up and says, "You already brought shame to our country by failing that NVE research, and now...Now you are insulting the leaders including even me and bringing more and more shame to our country."
Boris stands up, he is calm," Failed? This is what I am saying, you people don't know the picture here..."
The judge, Marium, "The court shall not allow any political arguments specifically on this subject." She beats her dusk, "Move on please..."
Boris walks around in circles inside the round table, he again looks at the globe above him, "I have been probing NVE for more than a decade, and I comprehended many things from it. The world was in chaos, it is now. I know that NVE can change that, change everything, Like how the invention of higher power like the atomic bomb changed the world forever, both politically and scientifically. I only had one motive, I need to change the world, I crave a united world, I need to end the never-ending cold war between the countries, I need to.."
Japan, "Naani.." he laughs. "Mr. Boris, you said before that, we politicians don't know about science..." he continued laughing,
" and I must say that you don't know a single thing about politics either, conceivably that's because you are a scientist."
Boris stops walking,
The PM of India," he is right, you can't unite the world, you can't end the war or put a stop to war for all at once, because..."
A lady President who is representing France, "because war is inevitable, it breaks the cycle and puts a foundation for another new cycle which leads to new expansions. You already said an example, 'The World War 1 and 2', if that war never happened, we would have been thwarted from inventing nuclear energy, and can you imagine what our situation will be now?"
The President of America stands up, "we will have depleted all our Natural resources, burned everything, the air will be polluted many times more than now, another big war, not between countries, but between the same people. The greatest civil war between humanity may have happened, and for you, there won't be any moon landing, no CERN, no scientific developments that can change the world, and maybe there won't be a 'you' to begin with." He sits on his chair.
Japan, "Put simply, chaos invokes war, war invokes discoveries, It's simple right? As a fact because of this itself, the world won't be united, there will be wars and more wars in the coming days. WAR IS INEVITABLE, IT IS NATURE. We politicians control those wars."
PM of India, "I have asked a bunch of questions, now you understand what our roles are..."
Boris starts to laugh, "hu hu hu..." he sits on his chair, "do you people think that I don't know what you've said now? You people don't know what I am doing with the NVE?"
Indian PM, "What? Building some meditative stuff?"
Boris, "It's a joke right? Then it is bad, FYI. I said I am gonna stop the war, and I will if you gave me enough time. NVE is out there, unused in a large quantity, it is everywhere on the planet. If I can convert a piece of NVE that is only 10cm into usable energy, then the energy can power a whole NY city for years. It's that much power, I was so close to being touched by that power, still, I got the glimpse of what that power looked like."
Everyone looked at him curiously. Marium, "What did you see?"
"I saw one of the greatest power in the universe, which devoured and destroyed the facility including its atoms and it killed the women I loved." Tears started to come from Boris, "If you trust me or not, NVE was alive at that moment, I call it the 'Black Demon'."
Indian PM, "What you've said is scientifically impossible, destroying atoms will release a tremendous amount of energy, it never happened that day."
Boris, "then what is your explanation for the facility being gone? Do you have one? No. But I have an answer for everyone that should be a win-win for all."
Marium, "What?"
"I said, I was too close to controlling that energy...I can do that again successfully. Handing out some NVE and the resources that I need, I will end the world crisis in a few years by providing pure energy and starting a new cycle of mine... I will convert that Black Demon into 'Holy Deity'."
...
It is not clear, everything is dark, a male voice,
"Boris was right about changing the world, and he changed it by stopping the war. He found the ultimate power which solved humanity's problems one by one. But he lied one thing to the world, The Black Demon Incident.
It was not what he said that happened, and he knows that. I clearly understand why he lied."
Someone lit a candle, a beautiful red-haired female, she was looking in the opposite direction, her face was not clear, only her naked back was seen.
"What did Boris say wrong?"
He was lying on the bed when the candlelights reached him,
"He said the research facility was destroyed, into tiny bits of pieces, smaller than you can imagine, and dissolved into air. But that is not the real thing that happened. The reason why I am here is because of that.
On that day Boris's lover died and the research facility was gone because he accidentally created a time machine."
The candle blows out suddenly.
