Chapter 16

QuiverWing tried to roll over to get comfy but only wiggled in pain for a few minutes, she wasn't able to roll over. "You good? you look like your trying to ich" Tusile hold back laughter.

"Nope just trying to roll over" QuiverWing hufft. QuiverWing tried to crowl back to the prey centre but Chaker refused to let her go until Scorch got back. "Just let me go I'm fine" she argued.

"No the last time you did that you had to be carried" Chaker nocked her back on her moss bed.

"Huff" she hold back a hiss.

"Control that attitude whilst you're at it" Chaker went back to Tusile. QuiverWing quietly raged and waited for Scorch to get back since she has nothing else to do. She tried to move her tail into a stretch and felt that she is a little better or it's the bugberrys kicking in.

She then felt her scales ich with dryness and then began to scramble towards the shallow end of the underground lake. "Hold it" Chaker jumped infront of her, "stop trying to wonder of I can clearly catch up to you" he pointed out.

"I just need to soke my scales there a little dry" she argued.

"Fine but stay in the shallow part and if I see you move into a deeper part I'm not gona be happy" Chaker wornd.

"Good now move" she gently headbutt him and he walked back to Tusile once more. QuiverWing crawled to the shallow waters and rested on the rocks on the bottom, she felt the sea grass stroke her belly scales and she closed her eyes and drifted asleep. She felt something nudge her ribs and she woke up, "come on your wings need a soke too" she heard Scorch say sycasticly.

"Rrrummm" she mouned as she rolled on her back, "humf" she cried as the pain flooded through her. QuiverWing saw Scorch swot his claws towards her then felt water splash on her snout, "Really" she sneezed.

He laughed, "come on take your herbs".

"Oh it's that time already?" QuiverWing questioned.

"Yeah you sleeped through the evening and it's almost time for bed" he mentioned. QuiverWing rose from the water and immediately fell back down from the shock of pain. "Now you can't get out of the water" Scorch observed her. QuiverWing just slowly crawled out and back on the the moss bed and heard the water squish on the moss. "Eww" Tusile laughed.

"It's the pain that if eww" she cried. Scorch gave her the combination of herbs and she took all of them. "Let's get you to your sleep chamber" Scorch lifted her wing over his back and with his help she was able to walk. It wasn't the best walking, she had to admit, but it was walking.

Scorch layed her down her bed and she saw him move towards his own, "are you going to sleep on your own bed tonight then?".

"Yeah I was thinking that I might make it worse, because of all the bones" he explained.

"No I find your bones to be pretty soft" she mentioned.

"Really?" Scorch tilted his and his voice went very high pitched.

"Yeah are they ment to be?" QuiverWing felt a little concerned about it now.

"No there ment to be sturdy" his tone went very slow.

"Oh" she reached her claw out and Scorch looked uncomfortable when she stroked his ribs. "Please don't pet me" he walked backwards and onto his bed. "You're still soft" she grind.

"Just go to sleep" he begged.

"Why don't like the affection" QuiverWing teased.

Scorch looked up with an annoyed exertion, "don't test me" he warned.

"Why?" she lifted her head up keeping a smile.

"I will snap" he warned again.

"And what would you do?" QuiverWing was genuinely curious.

"Just go to sleep!" He demanded.

"Alright" she agreed, "but you don't have to shout and I took a nap so I'm not tired" she added, Scorch just sighed.

"I'm too old for this" he mumbled, QuiverWing just saw an opportunity. "But not too old for me" she shot a look and Scorch went from annoyed to amused. "Really you just had to pull that one, didn't you?" he couldn't hold back a chuckle. "Fine, fine now go to sleep" he said whilst walking to her bed. "I just can't help but feel guilty for the pain you're in" Scorch admitted.

"Why? it's not your fault" QuiverWing assured.

"You pushed yourself too far to save me from Petles gards, I mean you had to carry me and the ice thang from one side of the jungle to the other" he flicked his tail in the moss.

"I'll be fine if anyone can heal me it's you" she nuzzled her nose on top of his head.

"So if anything you're saving me" QuiverWing mentioned and Scorch smile (the ghostly shape of his face) hugging into her. QuiverWing heard his breathing as the whistle and she soon fell asleep to it. She awoke the next morning and found that Scorch was not there and she then stood up and the pain was not as bad as it was before. She then slowly walked out, keeping focus on her movement, and she exite the small tunnel and saw Scorch tending to the plants. QuiverWing noticed that they were not as full of life as they used to be, she then headed to Scorch. "They look like their struggling to survive here" she said mournfully.

"They are" he agreed sadly.

"I know they mean a lot to you" QuiverWings started, "it must be hard for you to see them like this"

"It's all because Petle's gards found the location" he snarled.

QuiverWing rested her chin on his head and she noticed instantly that he is not responding at all, "that upset" her tone was pure concern.

"Yep" he raised his head up with a huff.

"You know plants are very adaptable they will recover" she tried.

"I know but at the moment I'm gona lose some of them" he sounded angry.

"You're acting as if they are your hatchlings" she kept her chin on his head.

"They are" he spoke sternly.

"I see..." she wrinkled her for head.

"Quite judging, they are the only thing I have left of my kin and my old king" he jerked his head so that her chin wouldn't be resting on him.

"How?" QuiverWing tilted her head.

"My old king tought me and my siblings all about herbs and how to maintain a garden" he sounded more upset then she thew he could get.

"Maby you could plant them here, if you get the dirt from the surface" QuiverWing suggested.

Scorch looked thoughtful for a minute, "maby that'll work" he twitched his tail. "So how is she?" QuiverWing pointed her nose at Tusile.

"She is actually well enough to leave the herb station" he pointed out.

"Good to hear" she nodded in delight.

"You can tell her she can go, I'll try your idea" Scorch instructed and QuiverWing just nodded and walked towards Tusile and Chaker. "Tusile Scorch said that you're free to go, you are all healed" QuiverWing instantly saw her eyes light up.

"Yes I'm all healed" she smiled.

"But you should keep taking poppy petals when ever it hurts" she added.

"Ok" she bounsed out of the moss bed and ran towards the pry center.

"She has a lot energy" Chaker sighed, "I'll have to make sure she doesn't hur her self again" he then power walked up the tunnel.
