Gopal

Gopal was a very intelligent boy. He came from a poor family. As his parents could not afford to buy a house, they stayed in a forest. Their house was made of broken barks of trees, leaves and other materials found in the forest. His father used to walk miles to reach his work place. His mother decorated their house by making a small garden at the entrance. She also planted many vegetable plants in order to help her husband.

Often the kids at the school used to tease Gopal by calling him "Jungle boy". Saddened by this, Gopal used to complain to his mother and would avoid going to school sometimes.

His mother thought of a solution and asked him to invite his friends for lunch at their home and explained him her plan. Gopal agreed.

Next day Gopal went to school and invited the class to visit his house the next day as it was a holiday for them. Nobody accepted his invitation. Then Gopal said only brave hearted people will come to his house, it was perfectly alright if they were scared to come. The trick worked and everyone accepted his invitation to prove themselves to be brave.

The next morning everyone met at the decided time and place. Gopal welcomed everybody with a bunch of flowers. As they headed towards his house Gopal explained how he enjoyed playing on tress, clinging to the branches, eating fresh vegetables and living with mother nature. When they reached home, he introduced everyone to his parents and they also met Gopal's unique friends laali - the cow and bholu - the monkey. Everybody was amazed to meet his friends. All the kids had a hearty lunch and enjoyed playing in the lap of mother nature. While going back home all his classmates apologized to Gopal for their behavior and became friends with him.
