Chapter #8 The Phone Call

Aran completed his flight and reached Austin, Texas in the morning and went straight for Chris's house in a cab and finding nobody there. Then he went to his own house and left his suitcase in the living room.

And he then went straight for his garage to get his car, and then went to the police department to find Watson.

He found his office to be locked and then went to the receptionist to ask him about Watson.

The receptionist said, "Don't you know? Watson was shot while guarding the alley behind the department and is in critical condition and is in public hospital".

Aran's face became white in shock because he was the one who dragged Watson in this problem. He sped towards the public hospital and found Chris waiting outside the operation theater.

Chris was walking around in tension outside and seeing Aran coming towards him. Aran hugged Chris to make him feel better. Watson was the only family Chris had because his mother had died in an accident on the motorway and died.

Chris said, "I could not ruin the party, so I did not tell anyone and left. Your father is a very close friend of my father and I could not ruin the party of his long awaited promotion, even I could see how hard he worked for the promotion. And we were the one who dragged father into this problem and look where it got him."

Aran after waiting for two hours but the operation had to take eight hours to complete and only five hours had passed in the operation.

He then went to get food from a restaurant nearby. While waiting he called his father and told him what had happened. His father said that he will try to get a leave for his department.

Aran while returning back to hospital he passed the police department. He stopped his car and went to the back alley only to find some known police officers and there was no one allowed to go inside. He asked a police officer if anything had been taken or the attacker had entered the gang's base. The police officer, who knew Aran, replied that no evidence have been found about the attacker.

Aran then went back to hospital and then ate food with Chris. He told Chris that he had told his father and he might come if he got a leave.

After a little while the operation ended and doctors came out and said, "We are sorry but we were not able to save him because he had eight bullets and the poison had spread in the body.
