Chapter 68: Snowfields Past

Ji Yunhe invited the two to sit down at a small tea table. Qing Ji curiously observed the candles on her table, while Luo Jinsang's words poured out like rain.

She stroked Ji Yunhe's hand like a caring mother, and soon grew emotional again. She cried over her challenges and obstacles in coming to see Ji Yunhe.

"I've been trying to come see you ever since I found out you're locked up here..." Luo Jinsang sobbed a couple of times and turned her head toward the screen, whispering into Ji Yunhe's ear.

"I spent a lot of money bribing people, and tried brute force, but all were unsuccessful. Later, that baldy came and told me to stop wasting my efforts, and that you were about to die. I was so angry I beat him up and went to beg her..." Luo Jinsang rudely pointed at Qing Ji who was still playing with the candles.

"She was also useless as hell! What Green Feather Rebellion?! Jade phoenix! No use at all!" Qing Ji turned her head with amusement.

"Little girl, you dare to criticize even me now?" Her face looked similar to Snow March, it made Ji Yunhe feel as if the three of them had reunited here. But upon a closer look, the charm between her eyebrows was something Snow March did not have.

Qing Ji continued, "Didn't you see me beg that fish the other day? But he's guarding her like his precious baby, refusing anyone from seeing her. What can I do?" Ji Yunhe twitched the corners of her mouth and mumbled,

"Precious…" Then her voice was drowned out by Luo Jinsang's angry rebuke.

"Beat him! This body of yours full of demonic power, what have you been doing with it?" Luo Jinsang said angrily.

"Look at this precious baby, look! If he treasured her so much, how could she be so thin?" Luo Jinsang grabbed Ji Yunhe's arm and shook it in the air.

"Look at this hand! Huh? And look at this face! And this hair! Who raises a baby like this?" Ji Yunhe laughed and pulled Luo Jinsang's hand down.

"I'm a prisoner, but you guys talk as if I've become a guest of honor." Luo Jinsang looked at Ji Yunhe and said sincerely,

"Yunhe, I'd never believe you could do something bad."

Ji Yunhe had never felt regret for what she did six years ago. It was what she had wanted to do, so she was willing to bear the consequences. She always thought she was extremely open-minded about it, but hearing Luo Jinsang's absolute trust in her right this minute, Ji Yunhe suddenly felt very moved. She quickly glanced at the screen and lowered her eyes.

"What's the point of just talking about me? What have you been doing over the years? Encounter any hardships? Learn any new skills?"

"I..." Luo Jinsang looked beyond the screen. "It's a long story..."

The maids in the room had finished cleaning and retreated as far as they could, and the person outside the screen spoke, "Enough. It's getting late, you guys should go." Changyi told them to leave.

"Hey wait. Qing Ji, take a look at Yunhe," Luo Jinsang said.

"Although you are not a doctor, you have lived for so many years. Maybe there's a way..." As expected, Changyi went silent. Qing Ji puckered her lips.

"Then let's take a look." She held Ji Yunhe's pulse, then raised her eyebrows. Luo Jinsang asked nervously, "Well?"

"How long did your Kongming say she would live?"

"About a month." Qing Ji nodded.

"In my opinion, there is only one way to save her."

Three pairs of eyes fell on Qing Ji in unison. Qing Ji stood up, looked around and her eyes fell on Luo Jinsang. Then in a flash, Qing Ji pulled out a dagger from Luo Jinsang's waist and pointed it straight at Ji Yunhe's throat. Luo Jinsang cried out in alarm,

"Hey! What!?" Changyi immediately stepped to Ji Yunhe's side.

Luo Jinsang shouted in anger, "I asked you to come save her, what's wrong with you?!"

"Get out," Changyi also scolded. Only Ji Yunhe sat in the chair without concern, smiling and nodding,

"Exactly." Luo Jinsang was even more angry now.

"Yunhe! What are you talking about? You have a month left!" Changyi shifted his glare to Luo Jinsang.

"You get out too!" With a scolding, both of them were thrown out.Ji Yunhe laughed alone in her chair.

"That girl, there's always laughter wherever she is. I don't know how she and the Jade Phoenix were able to become friends..." Changyi's stinking expression eased a bit after seeing her smiling face.

"Changyi, let them come visit me from now on, okay?"

He did not answer her. A moment later, he turned around and left. Ji Yunhe thought he did not agree since he always ignored her requests. She was used to this and did not dwell on it.

Unexpectedly, a set of quiet footsteps rustled up from the stairs when dawn approached.
