Chapter 10 Just For Money

"No grandmother I think lunch will be better..."

" Hahaha I'm happy you understood, you need to know each other first. I'll let her parents know then ... Oh my grandson, I'll tell you the details when you come home." Grandma Vero had not made any reservations but said that so that Jack would agree first.

"I'll come back home late grandma please don't wait for me, but don't worry I'll see you tomorrow before I go to work. Please go to bed okay."

" It's not even 6pm , okay my lovely grandson bye , bless you my child haha" *click*

The moment the call ended, the smiling man turned cold and dangerous once again and called for his Assistant John Adams.

"You called for me Sir."

"Get me a background check on the Rockson's, especially the daughter. I want it done early tomorrow morning."  Adams was surprised when Jack mentioned the daughter but recovered from it early. '

"Yes , sir is that all. " he asked but in his mind he was thinking why his cold boss was asking for a background check on a woman.

Jack motioned for him to go and started signing some documents. But he got distracted and for some strange reason couldn't stop thinking about the hospital girl . 'How could such a pretty child be so sad' . He shook his head and went back to business. 'This isn't the time to think of unnecessary things' he thought.

Meanwhile Betty went to her mother's grave and cried a little and told her what has happened after she left them. While she was there she decided to go and look for a job to do that night. Even tho the first day is almost over, she had two days to get the $2 m . 

Betty was now in the office of the manager of Star Club. One of the most attended clubs . 

"Hm what can cause a beautiful young girl to look for job in a haste like this mmm , do you mind telling me."  The manager asked. Betty didn't want to answer but she remembered a saying that the more you sell your problems the higher the chances of getting solution so she told the manager everything.

"Mm such a story indeed . Are you aware the bartender job is the only available one and pays $10 per hour?".

"Yes sir, I know buh I believe even if I don't get all , getting majority is enough."

"Mmm " the manager stood up and walked around the room. "Mm I can give you half of the money, that's if you accept to have sex with me for just a year. Be my woman lovely "the manger said, and started unbuckling his belt.

Betty didn't believe her ears and eyes. It's true she needed the money but she wouldn't do this. she stepped backwards a little and shouted" Are you not ashamed of yourself? I would never lower my standards just because of money. !! And even if I did, not with a goat like you." She threw a book on the manager and run from the club. 'Was this the only way she could save her brother? No ! she was going to work harder. There might be a way'

She started crying again after she left. Is this how the world has become, she thought. She went to Henry's hospital room and decided to spend the night. Tomorrow is a new day and I pray to be successful she prayed .She didn't stop missing her late mother that day.
