Chapter 4 - Every Woman's Desire

Chapter 4: Every Woman's Desire

"The camera!" Maggy looked across to Alyssa, who had been frozen for  good few minutes.

"Oh sure." Alyssa held it steady and hit the record button, trying to aim it so that both Maggy and Marcus were in frame. It was difficult to look at his face now that she knew who he was.

It wasn't possible that she was mistaking him for someone else. She would know even if she was drunk that night. It was surprising just how much he looked like Georgie.

"Good afternoon Riverton!" Maggy said to the camera with a bright smile that Alyssa could tell was entirely fake. "It is your favorite, Maggy Green, and today we are speaking to the one and only Marcus Hunt, CEO of Jager Industries.

While she spoke, Alyssa noticed that Marcus wasn't looking at Maggy or the camera. His eyes were on her as if he was trying to look right through her eyes and her soul. It took a lot self control to keep her focus on her job. He must have been to thinking about where he remembered her from, because it was clear to her that he recognized her.

"Me. Hunt!" Maggy swung herself around and forced his attention back to her. "Let's get right into it, with the topic that everyone thinks of when it comes to you-romance!"

A sly smile made its way to Marcus' face. "What do you want to know?"

"You are young, extremely wealthy, and so hot that the sun should be ashamed of itself." Maggy drawled, leaning forward slightly. "And yet, as we all know, you are still single! How can that be? How come you haven't found love in this big city yet?"

Marcus seemed to be calculating his answers in his mind. A few times, his eyes flicked towards Alyssa. Maggy seemed to be very interested in what he was going to say, as if she desperately wanted him to confirm that he wasn't in a relationship.

"I am not sure where you got that information from." Marcus finally said. "I have never said that I was single, especially not to a television presenter."

The tension in the room suddenly skyrocketed. Maggy seemed to falter as her face turned red and Alyssa could see that she wasn't used to not being in control.

"My apologies, Mr. Hunt." Maggy said with an uncomfortable little laugh, trying to get get the interview back on track. "In that case, Sir,  I will change my question. Is there a lovely little lady in your life?" She asked.

"Yes." Marcus answered simply. It was clear that he was bored with this interview and would prefer to leave. Maggy would have to work a lot harder to keep his attention.

"Oh amazing! You heard it here first, folks!" Maggy was faking her excitement, and pretending as if this was the most important news in the world. Alyssa found it annoying, and she had to fight herself not to roll her eyes.

She wasn't sure why it hurts to know why Mr. Marcus wasn't single. It was jus a one night stand three years ago, after all, he didn't know that he had children. It was rediculous of her to feel jealous now. She would just need to grit her teeth and get through his interview, then she would hopefully never have to see him again.

"Well, Mr. Hunt, tell us - who is the lucky lady?" Maggy continued, leaning forward so far that Alyssa worried she was going to fall right out of her chair. "Do you know her?"

"That's none of your business, I am afraid." Marcus answered coolly, much to Maggy's dismay. "As you know, I prefer to keep my private affair out of the limelight."

"Of course, of course." Maggy nodded as if she entirely agreed with him. "Well, then, Mr. Hunt, let's change the topic. It is said that you are planning on expanding your estate by buying the nearby golf. Is that true?"

"No comment." Marcus said. "Private affairs."

"Oh, alright." Maggy seemed more and more unhappy how this interview was turning out. It made Alyssa feel a little giddy to see her squirm like that, after being so self-entitled earlier. "Uhm, well, I guess…..

Could you tell us what the future holds for you and for Jager Industries.

"I believe that Jager Industries will carry Riverton into the world of economic giants, bringing the city level with places like Singapore, New York and London." This answer seemed practiced, as if it was what Marcus regularly told the media.

"Success is what I live for, and I will not slow down until I get what I want."

With that sentence, Marcus glanced over to Alyssa again, and she felt her heart beat slightly gaster. It was no wonder that she had taken her to bed that night. It would be incredibly difficult to resist him, even if she was sober.

"Okay, thank you Mr. Hunt." Maggy seemed to be trying to think of more questions to ask him.

"I think that's enough." Marcus said, looking over towards the door. "I have business to attend."

"Uhm….Oh... Okay." Maggy looked at Alyssa.  "Stop recording."

Alyssa did just that, but it didn't seem that Maggy was ready to leave yet. It was clear that she was looking for an excuse to stay, even though Alyssa wasn't really sure why.

Maggy undid the top buttons on her blouse and leaned forward to make sure that Marcus saw as much of her cleavage as possible. Alyssa blinked few times, wondering why Maggy though this would work.

Marcus already said that there was someone in his life and he had been bored for the whole interview, but Maggy still thought that she has a chance with him.

It is rediculous

"Mr. Hunt," Maggy said slowly, probably thinking that she was being seductive. "Are sure you wouldn't want me  to stay….. a little longer?"

Marcus' eyes turned into ice as if he thought that she was making a complete fool of herself, and as if he couldn't believe the audacity.

"I have told you that the interview is over." He answered, and Alyssa could see his fingers tighten into a fist on the sofa's armrest.

Maggy didn't seem to notice. "I know, but that doesn't mean the two of us can't get to know each other better."

"Maggy…" Alyssa said with the tone of warning, but she was ignored. Maggy put her hands on the coffee table in front of her and leaned even further towards Marcus.

"James, get them out of here, would you?" Marcus got up from the couch with an irritated look on his face.

"

And note down that we will no longer grant interviews to the RT station."

"What?" Maggy was surprised.

Alyssa has seen the answer coming from a distance. It was like Maggy had no idea of how to read someone's body language. "But, Marcus….I could be the woman of your dreams!" Maggy said.

"You call him Mr. Hunt." James said, appearing behind them with two security guards. " You have not earnes the right to use his first name."

Maggy pouted unhappily and stayed seated. Alyssa was already walking towards the door, trying to be respectful. Besides that, she really just wasn't in the mood to be manhandled by Marcus' gaurds.

Suddenly, one of them grabbed Maggy by her arm and dragged her onto her feet. Immediately, she put up a fuss.

"What are you doing?" She shrieked, trying to shake the guard off and failing. "Do you know who I am? I will tell the whole world about this."

Miss Green, I don't think you will, if you would like to keep your job." James said evenly, nodding to the other gaurd who clenched his hand tightly around Alyssa's upper arm, preparing to treat her just as roughly.

Marcus glanced over his shoulder, and noticed what the guard was doing. "Let go of her. She will walk by herself."

Alyssa was surprised when he made eye contact with her, and the grip on her arm loosened.

"I expect that you will respect the rules of this establishment. Am I right?" He said, speaking directly to her.

"If the establishment respect me." Alyssa answered cheekily, glaring at the guard. She expected a harsh answer from Marcus, but he only laughed. Maggy was staring at Alyssa in astonishment, completely forgetting that she had been throwing a tantrums.

"There you have it." Marcus said with a sly smile. "Nobody touches her if she doesn't try anything funny. That other one, though, you have my permission to get her out of here with any means necessary."

Maggy clearly wasn't impressed with being called 'that other one'. and she Continued pouting as she was roughly pulled out of the room.

Alyssa followed, escorted by the guards, but none of them lifted a hand to touch her. It made her feel powerful- a feeling that she found she wanted more of.
