Where is he?

Feng Tian eventually arrived at the front of her apartment building 30 minutes later, and immediately her eyes landed on the familiar male standing in front of her apartment building, she paused in her tracks.

"Qi Yan," she muttered lowly, wondering why he was in front of her apartment,

"Seeing Detective Qi here must mean you've agreed to my proposition," Feng Tian breathed out with a gentle smile, watching as the male in front of her stood still for a moment before turning to face her,

"But, I must ask, which one though?"

Earlier that day.

Qi Yan who had been on the watch for Sui An at the city outskirts for the past two days smirked as his mind wandered to Feng Tian, he couldn't help but marvel at her boldness, she had certainly caught him off-guard but no matter how hard he racked his brain, he couldn't point out where he had seen her before.

He was suddenly pulled out of his thoughts as his eyes landed on the silhouette of a man who had secretly made his exit through a secret entrance he had not noticed was there, immediately stepping out of the car, Qi Yan rushed towards an abandoned cart nearby to take cover as he watch the man leave.

A few minutes later, after making sure he was gone, Qi Yan immediately entered the secret entrance only to find out it actually led to an abandoned barn. Pulling out his gun as he slowly made his way into the barn, Qi Yan exhaled, the foul stench of motor oil and trash garbage filling the air as he cautiously continued to walk further into the barn, suddenly he halted his movement as his eyes landed on several pictures indicating Sui An has truly been the one staying at the barn.

Qi Yan moved closer towards the wall and stare at the several pictures and information of Wang Hai which were glued to the wall but what really caught his eyes were the pictures of Feng Tian that were glued separately to the side. Qi Yan stared at the pictures as a lot of questions continue to wander in his mind, what does Sui An want with her, does she have any connection with him, could she also be one of Wang Hai's associates?

Suddenly, Qi Yan felt a movement in his periphery, and before he could react, he was struck with a sharp object, causing him to stagger. His leg landed on a small photograph with the name "Chun Huan" written boldly on it. Qi Yan turned to face Sui An, who was ready to strike again. Before he could attack, Qi Yan managed to evade the attack, and the sharp object plunged into a keg of motor oil, causing it to spill on the floor.

Lurching towards him, Qi Yan grabbed Sui An by the neck and threw him against the wall. "Well, Sui An, I've been looking for you for a long time. Where is he?" Qi Yan demanded, his voice laced with determination.

Sui An groaned in pain, struggling to respond. "You… What the hell are you?" he managed to gasp out.

"Me, I'm your worst nightmare." Qi Yan smirked as he pulled out his handcuff.

"Come on, psycho, let's get you back to where you belong."

Sui An shook his head in protest, quickly bending to reach for his dagger, but before he could pick it up, Qi Yan knocked it out of his hand and punched him,

"Where is my brother?" Qi Yan yelled, grabbing him before throwing another punch to his face.

"Why don't you ask her?" Sui An said, slightly turning his head towards Feng Tian's pictures on the wall before bursting into laughter.

Confusion washed over Qi Yan's face. He was about to question Sui An about what he meant, but before he could speak, Sui An knocked off a lantern on the table, causing it to shatter on the ground. The puddle of oil on the floor burst into flames instantly. In the chaos, Sui An pushed Qi Yan, causing him to stumble and crash into a large pile of wood.

Groaning loudly, Qi Yan then watched Sui An as he dashed out of the barn.

Slowly pulling himself up, Qi Yan coughed as he noticed that the fire had spread to the entrance, immediately he rushed towards the window, jumping out just in time before the barn exploded.

Meanwhile, Sui An yelled angrily as he continued to watch the barn burn from afar,

"Qi Yan, you bastard, just wait, you will pay for this." Sui An spat, roughly grabbing his injured arm before disappearing into the woods.

Hours later, a pale-looking Sui An hissed in pain as he examined his bleeding arm before proceeding to tie it with a handkerchief to stop the wound from bleeding.

He sighed, whining slightly before making his way towards an abandoned ship hidden at the far corner of the city's harbor, lightly lifting his fist, he banged on the ship's door, and immediately a small door slid open, revealing a pair of eyes, which immediately squinted as it scanned his appearance. After some seconds, the man who seemed to have gotten his confirmation finally spoke;

"State your business."

Quickly reaching into his pockets, Sui An pulled out a piece of paper and showed it to the man, who nodded and gestured to him to pass the paper through the door.

"1, 2, 4, 15, and 45." Sui An stated to the man, who nodded before disappearing. Few moments later, the small door opened again and a small piece of paper appeared,

"Ten minutes from here, No. 9."

Immediately grabbing the small piece of paper, Sui An quickly turns to check for anything suspicious before taking his leave.

Ten minutes later, he finally arrived in front of a shabby-looking motel, quickly stepping in, he headed toward the counter, secretly passing the piece of paper to the receptionist who stared passively at him before handing him a key.

On entering the room, a small duffle bag was already sitting on the lumpy mattress, immediately zipping it open, he emptied its contents which consisted of two bottles of alcohol, a phone, a pair of new outfits, and a mini first aid box. Roughly tugging the bottle cap open, Sui An groan, instantly downing its content,

"Qi Yan, that bastard, does he have nine lives or what? Won't just die, causing problems for me," Sui An muttered before picking up the phone, quickly punching in a number, he raised the phone to his ear which immediately beeped on its third ring,

"Speak." The voice at the other end of the phone said coldly,

"It's Sui An, we have a problem?"

"What is it?"

"That kid, Qi Yan, he suddenly came by to the barn, but Luckily I was able to escape."

"Where are you, what about the evidence?"

Immediately, Sui An expression darkens,

"You know, it wasn't only Qi Yan that visited the barn, Li Bin can you tell me what is going on?" Sui An asked Li Bin who immediately became quiet on hearing the change in his tone,

"Li Bin, don't tell me the boss is trying to abandon me," Sui An muttered,

"You should tell him it's a bad idea because if anything happens, you know how it works, I won't go down alone, I think I have a lot of packages that those police dudes will take a lot of interest in."

"What the hell are you talking about?" Li Bin whisper-yelled.

"Ok, ok, no need to be so tense, but I think it's time for you to get me out of here, what do you say, ten million to keep my mouth firmly shut."

"Hey, let me remind you, you do not want to go against the boss, just keep yourself well hidden and shut your mouth!" Li Bin warns before abruptly cutting the call.
