== impression as of chapter 19 == Yao Tang was exchanged at birth and was found years later as a teenager in the countryside. The only reason her family brought her back was because they were told that she would bring good feng shui (good luck) to the family. Yao Ran (adopted daughter) and her parents doesn’t treat her well on their first meeting but are willing to provide for her as long as she doesn’t embarrass them. Yao Tang is the most beautiful girl that anyone in the novel has ever seen as she has inherited the good looking genes of the Yao family. She’s cold and aloof and emits this aura that makes everyone scared of her even though they’re drawn to her beauty. She’s a prodigy child but all her exams has 0s on them. We know that Yao Tang doesn’t care for the Yao family and only came to the city with some sort of agenda that has yet to be revealed to us. She probably has some sort of successful business/side hustle going that will be revealed later as Yao Tang has someone working under her. I’m assuming the male lead is the infamous young master of the Cheng family who followed Yao Tang to the city. I’m also assuming that he is the man that Yao Tang saved in the beginning of the novel. That man seemed to be enamored by her even though she wanted him to leave. So far, I’m not too impressed with the novel. I think because there’s no clear goal to what Yao Tang is doing in the novel. It’s not a revenge trope because she’s not back with the Yao family to take revenge, she’s not attending school to become the top student, nor is she chasing the male lead. So, in a way, it feels like it’s getting dragged on and I don’t know if I want to continue to see what her goal is. But if you enjoy a smart female lead with a hidden agenda, you may enjoy this one.
Review until Chapter 40: Translation quality needs improvement. Using the word BROUGHT to denote an item paid for in this novel was wrong. It should be BOUGHT. CORE for CAR. etc. Too many wrong spellings and pronoun used. Also, mistaking one character’s name for another.🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ Characters are okay. Typical delusional villainess who thinks the FL’s family is hers. Well, she can have since Yao Tang doesn’t care a bit about it. For once, the FL has a better store card than the ML. Hahaha!!!😈😈😈😈. The FL is like Qin Ran.😉 Plot is okay too. I’m curious about that Taoist Master who made the prediction for Yao Tang. I want to know the full prediction. This is a good read. I need the raws too.😇😇😇
Why I think that the story is quite similar to madam you have been uncovered except for the baby exchange plot or saving the male lead Concept is lie similar My question why all the contemporary romance novel have to have same plot [img=faceslap][img=faceslap][img=faceslap][img=faceslap][img=faceslap][img=faceslap][img=faceslap][img=faceslap][img=faceslap][img=faceslap][img=faceslap][img=faceslap][img=faceslap][img=faceslap][img=faceslap][img=faceslap][img=faceslap]
Review after reading around chapter 55: I gave this story a chance even after reading comments that it seemed the same ("plagiarized" was even used) from other multiple hidden identities stories in Web Novel itself. Why? It was available for free limited reading! It started out pretty typical for a multiple hidden identities story... then I hit chapter 51 (or close to that) with a typo... a very suspicious typo. For me, that typo is enough to say that some chapters and probably huge chunk of the plot is copied from another story. It is disappointing that Web Novel will allow things like this. I would rather they promote the stories that have already been translated OR if there's plagiarism between two or more original and/or translated works, acknowledge and address it appropriately.
This is based on 40 chapters. One may wonder why does FL return to her family when she doesn't want to be there & she knows that they don't want her there. We know that FL is curious about why they finally wanted to bring her back home but I think there's more to it than that. FL's true identities haven't all been revealed yet but she's more smart & powerful than her family thinks. So, I think that those who enjoy stories with FLs who have multiple identities & faceslap others will like it. For those wondering about ML, though FL has already met him, their interactions have been little to get a feel for his character. However, he's powerful as well & already has an interest in her.
FOR NOW (chapter 40) - decent. A couple of things come out of nowhere/there's some dodgy descriptions, but mostly it's okay. We've already encountered one of the things in the description (FL whipping out the ol' black diamond card) which is a nice change from the usual 1000-chapters-in-and-haven't-gotten-to-X-Y-or-Z-in-blurb-yet. Characters are pretty standard. Not exactly sold on the ML - he seems like an idolised stalker? But the interactions FL has with her classmates are nice (and the "class bully" already knows that the FL is not to be messed with so that's a nice change of pace). I'd be sad if this wasn't one of the chosen stories, but I'm also wary about how the quality will be going forwards. (There's also some weird translations where she/he/him/her are mixed up).
I really wanted to enjoy this story but it killed itself. The story starts relatively strong. Good level of family conflict truly annoying white lotus/ worm tongue of a fake daughter. That persists for the first few hundred chapters (they are very short). Then the story just derails. The author or authors just seemed think they want to go a couple thousand chapters or more so they just started putting in side quests and distractions all over the place that do nothing to move the story forward and are fundamentally uninteresting.
