Magic Art Training

The sky was already dark and the street lamps were lit.

Vivian was walking on a street and heading back to the compound where the members of the Temple of Priests reside.

Her brown cloak fluttered and the gold necklace with a vertically stretched sun was displayed proudly around her neck.

From time to time she could notice people, especially men, throwing a glance at her. Some would even just straight out stare at her. 

But after days of living inside this new body of hers, she was more or less used to it already and paid it no mind.

Up ahead, she saw 2 scary-looking men in their mid-20s standing in the corner and looking at her with lustful eyes.

They weren't armed or anything. They were only wearing normal clothes and had normal builds.

Vivian couldn't help but scoff inside her head.

Fortunately for them, she wasn't in the mood right now to "ask" for compensation because all she wanted to do right now was to rush back to the Training Grounds and level up her Magic Arts so she didn't bother to change lanes.

As she got closer, one of the men opened their mouth. 

"Hey Priestess, come over here. I've got something to tell you," one of the men said.

She pretended to not notice them as she passed them by.

The other man's face twisted into a dark expression and reached out his hand to grab Vivian's arm.

"Hey! I'm talking to you --"

Pah!

Thud!

The man was punched in the face.

Vivian turned around to see what just happened.

After all, the attack didn't come from her.

She saw the man who tried to grab her lying on the floor while his companion was staring at another person.

It was a very handsome man in his early 20s. He had blonde hair, blue eyes and a blinding perfect smile. He was dressed in a beautiful set of leather armor with intricate designs and had two beautiful long daggers on his waist. And lastly, he had a Gold I Rank pendant around his neck.

"Don't you people have better things to do other than harass women?" the man said and smiled. 

"YOU!" the remaining man said and pulled out a knife before thrusting his knife.

The handsome man easily caught the man's wrist and twisted it.

"AHH!"

Clang.

The man cried out in pain and dropped the dagger.

The handsome man held the man for a few seconds before pushing him away.

"If I see the both of you here again I'm going to make sure you're going to regret."

The man gritted his teeth and glared at the handsome man before pulling his companion away and leaving.

Seeing the two men running away with their tail between their legs, the handsome man turned his head back to Vivian.

Unfortunately, she already left and was already a few meters away.

He immediately rushed to Vivian's side.

"Hi, I--"

"Leave me alone," Vivian said coldly without even looking at him.

He was startled for a moment by her response, causing him to stop. 

When he regained back his composure, he rushed in front of Vivian and stood there, blocking her path.

"Isn't it a bit rude to treat a fellow adventure who helped you?"

"What do you want? If you're here to invite me to your party, I'm not interested."

"Who said --"

Whoosh!

Vivian moved so fast that the next thing the handsome man knew her hand was pointed on his throat like a knife.

A single bead of sweat appeared on the handsome man's forehead and all of his senses were screaming at him.

"LEAVE. ME. ALONE," Vivian said coldly.

The handsome man swallowed.

Vivian pulled her hand away and resumed walking.

When Vivian was already a couple of meters away, the handsome man quickly relaxed and touched his neck to check if it had any injury or whatsoever.

Some time later…

Vivian was at the Training Grounds.

She arrived at the compound about an hour ago.

When she first arrived, she immediately headed to the cafeteria to eat her second free meal of the day.

After that, she rested for a few minutes before coming here.

She reached the building she was looking for and entered.

Just like last time, it was old man Samuel behind the counter.

"Good evening, Brother Samuel. I'm here to train."

"It's you. Sister Vivian, right?"

"Yes."

He took out a key underneath the counter and placed it on top.

The key was engraved with the number 8 on it.

"I'll be checking on you after 48 hours."

"Thanks, but you don't have to. I'll only be here a few hours. I've got a test to take tomorrow morning."

The old man nodded.

Vivian hurriedly went over to her training room.

Her plan was to spend 4-5 hours inside the training room. After that, she will go to bed so that she can take the final exam for her first Holy Mission.

When she entered her room, she closed the door, sat down on the floor and removed her left glove.

"Let's try this."

She activated a skill.

[Poison Strike].

A green water-like aura enveloped her right hand.

She pressed it on her left palm.

Psssh!

The green water-like aura exploded into a green mist. The attack was similar to the sunflower monster's orange gas.

Cough!

Cough!

Vivian immediately felt like she was sick -- her body felt heavy and weak.

She immediately activated another skill.

[Heal].

A faint yellow light enveloped her entire body.

Vivian's eyes became wide.

Despite the [Heal] skill, her body still felt heavy and weak.

She cast another skill.

[Heal].

A faint yellow light enveloped her entire body once again.

However, the same feeling that her body felt still persisted.

'So [Heal] doesn't cure poison…'

'I already had this suspicion…'

'But I still wanted to try it just in case…'

'I wonder how long will this poison last…'

Some time later…

The heavy and weak feeling that Vivian's body felt earlier finally vanished.

'I see…'

'So it takes around 30 seconds before the poison vanishes…'

The skill [Poison Strike] was a skill that doesn't cause any damage at all but puts the opponent in a weakened state and lasts for about 30 seconds. However, the weakening effect solely depends on the Intelligence points between the owner of the skill and the target. The higher the Intelligence points of the owner compared to the target, the weaker the target gets that it could even leave the them completely immobile. But of course, the higher the Intelligence points of the target compared to the owner of the skill, the weaker the weakening effect would be to the point where it won't even have any effect at all.

'I have to try it again…'

An unknown amount of time later…

The room that the members of the Temple of Priests use for training their Magic Arts was very small, just enough to fit 2 double-size beds. It was made out of cement and wasn't painted. There also wasn't anything inside the room except for a symbol of a vertically stretched out sun plastered on the wall and a small window on top of it.

The rays of sunlight seeped in through the small window, illuminating the person seated on the floor in the middle of the room.

Vivian raised her head.

Her eyes red and there were eye bags underneath.

"Shit!"

"It's already morning!"

Last night, her plan was to spend 4-5 hours inside the training room. After that, she will go to bed so that she can take the final exam for her first Holy Mission.

However, she kept telling herself one last time before leaving. And the next thing she knew, it was already morning.

It reminded of herself back in her previous world where she would play a mobile game in bed before sleeping and make a promise to herself that she would just play for 30 minutes only to end up playing until 5:00 am in the morning and she had to be at the office at 8:00 am.

She looked down and stared at her hands.

"Just a little more…!"

A few minutes later…

Psssh!

She gritted her teeth.

"It still hasn't come out!"

"WHY?!"

She waited once again until her mana reaches 20 points.

A couple of minutes later…

Psssh!

"SHIT!!!"

Once again, she waited.

A couple of minutes later…

Psssh!

She raised her fist and drove it down but stopped a few centimeters before it touch the floor.

"I CAN'T…"

"I CAN'T PAY FOR THE DAMAGES…"

She waited once more for her mana to recover.

A couple of minutes later…

Psssh!

Ding!
