Chapter 50

Alvin's P.O.V

"Yeah, it seems like it." I chuckled and couldn't help feeling happiness bubbling up in me as I look at Emily staring out of my bedside window as she was totally captivated by the moon in the sky.

"Emy, I hope I am not rushing you or anything but my parents are coming back tomorrow and there is a party organized for you too." A few minutes passed and there was no answer, I furrowed my brows and went closer to her, all of a sudden she was having a convulsion. Her whole body was shaking erratically and she fell back onto the bed, the freakiest thing is that her eyes seemed to be flipped back and it was fully white.

"Emy, Emy, are you okay?" I rushed over to my bed and was currently beside her seizure-like state. I brought her into my embrace and hugged her but as soon as my skin touches hers, I couldn't see a single thing. It was total darkness, but that didn't stop me, I brought her tighter into my embrace.

I mind linked Ricky and Carly as well as the pack doctor so that they can figure out what was going on. Within minutes they all rushed over and Carly freaked out as soon as she entered the room.

"OMGOSH, EM ARE YOU OKAY???" I couldn't see what she was doing but I could hear from her elephant footsteps that she ran over and when she was about to touch Emily, something happened.

"I am the light in the darkness. I am the light in the darkness. I am the light in the darkness. I am the light in the darkness." Emily began chanting the words over and over again and before I know it I felt an incredible force field pushing me back causing me to let go of her and her body flopped back down onto the bed.

Once we broke contact my sight regained almost instantly and my eyes felt slightly irritated due to the sudden exposure of light. Ricky was beside me at this point trying to help me up and Carly was slightly pushed away but it wasn't a big reaction as she did not have any bodily contact with Emily.

"What is happening to her Kale? Save her!" I frantically approached the pack doctor and asked.

"Alpha, I am sorry this isn't a medical issue, if I am not wrong I think Sofós might be able to tell you what is wrong." Kale apologized and explained.

"Bring Sofós over now!" I looked towards Ricky and ordered him, I am still pissed at him, he knows how the mating process goes so how dare he mark Carly, but that aside he complied and immediately went to get Sofós over. Kale was standing at the side in case of any situation where he might be needed while Carly was putting pillows all around the bed in case of a situation where Emily might fall off the bed as the convulsion was getting bad to worse and the chanting as well.

"Alpha, I've heard you need my presence." An old and cracking voice could be heard as a man with a head full of white hair and wrinkles on his forehead came into view.

"Yes Sofós, we need to know what is going on with my mate, she started having a seizure and her eyes turned full white. There is a force field or some sort around her as well which does not allow anyone to have any body contact with her. A while back she began chanting 'I am the light in the darkness." Any idea what is going on?" I bombarded him with questions and his expression was still neutral with no shock or horror.

"Slow down Alpha, I've read about such a case in a book regarding the history of Erebus, the god of darkness."

I frowned and gave him a doubtful look as how is Emily related to Erebus, I mean come on she is just a human girl.

Sofós ignored the look that I shot him and continued on talking.

"In the book, it stated that there was once a small tribe who claimed to be the sons and daughter of Erebus, but there was a legend that among all of them there will be 1 special child to be born from the bloodline of a dragon and god. Apparently, with that belief, many of the tribe members started finding partners from other dragon tribes but somehow the child that was born is defected with either inborn blindness or with scales on their body causing them to look like monsters. In the book, it also states that the special child will have extraordinary powers but it won't appear unless something triggers it."

It was a lot to take in as everyone just stared at Sofós and looked towards Emily and this went on for a few rounds before I questioned him.

"So, you are implying that Emily is the special child? What has this got to do with the chanting?"

"Wait, I have not finished what I was about to say, it also states that the child is considered the light among the tribe of the darkness as Erebus is the god of darkness the child is able to control one's sight. He or she will be able to grant eternal darkness to anyone by taking away their sight and by doing so the darkness will slowly start corroding away the person's life force and soul. That is one of the powers." He explained and as I was about to ask him more questions, Emily's chanting stopped as well as her shaking.

The bed that was under her stopped trembling and everyone's attention shifted to her as if waiting for an interesting movie to start. Her eyes turned back to its normal color and it drooped down closing her eyes, her body was now curled up into a ball as though nothing happened earlier.

"Is this normal? Kale, please help her check if everything is alright."

"On it alpha." Kale went forward and took her wrist into his hands as he finds her pulse and took her heart rate.

Everyone stood at their position silently as they were awaiting Kale's report.

"Everything is alright Alpha, it seems like the Luna simply fainted she will be awake by tomorrow morning." He smiled and said.

I felt myself breathing a sigh of relief and the same goes for Carly and Ricky, after Kale's 3rd times reassuring me everything is alright, everyone left the place as well as Sofós, even though I felt like his words are a little far fetched but he is after all still the wise old man of the pack, I guess I should ask Emily if what he said was true tomorrow morning.
