Chapter 20

As Emily stepped foot into the cold and quiet mansion, the nervousness in her began to make her feel more clear-headed rather than earlier on when she just got off Alvin's car, she needed to talk to her 'father' and just the thought of it scares her to her very core. She gathered all her courage and made her way to the 'heart' where her 'father' is always at during every Monday to Friday, he even has a private room in it to accommodate his needs.

Every step Emily took the jittery feeling she felt in her belly increased by 10 percent, every creak or knock will easily startle her. Normally it takes about 3 minutes up but because this time around the issue she is going to bring up to her 'father' might cause a huge fight, there is even the possibility of her being blacklisted and homebound for the rest of her life. The more she thought of it the more her heart couldn't handle the thoughts, if she is blacklisted she will never be able to go out to the real world and experience life, even though it comes at the expense of assassinating people as a job but at least I am still able to feel normal for a certain amount of time before I go in for the kill, worse of all if she is homebound, she won't be able to even step a foot out of her house, taking away her freedom, that is the worse kind of punishment.

By the time when she was right outside of the door, she raised her hand up and clench it into a fist about to knock on the door, just as she was about to knock, she stopped her hand and retracted it quickly turning around and ran back to her room without even turning back for even just a look. Her heart was pounding in a rhythm of a song with 220 bpm, once she got into the safety and comfort zone of her room, she crashed down onto her bed and grab onto a pillow, buried her face in it and screamed. . .

"Gahhhh why am I so useless, if I don't do it now I will still have to do it sometime, it is inevitable anyway. . . " After screaming into the pillow and venting her anger on a few other pillows which caused a cottony mess later on, if this is considered a war and Emily's room is considered a battlefield, then her room will be a terrible aftermath with the innards of the 'pillow soldiers' laying all around her bedroom floor.

Miliana's P.O.V

After traveling for quite some time everyone was tired and restless but by shrewd or by crude we managed to make our way to the pack that is letting us stay temporarily. Once we entered the territory, a bunch of warrior wolves approached us and led us to their pack house, everyone simply kept quiet throughout as they were in low morale and many were suffering from injuries. Once we've reached my dad went to look for the alpha but to our dismay, he was not around and his son was said to be in charge at the moment.

A moment later a guy around the same age as I am approached my dad and me as well as my pack, he introduced himself as Alvin and the alpha's son, the one who is in charge at the moment. He had on a look of annoyance but still seem to be trying to look professional, he shook my dad's hand and they both exchanged pleasantries, afterward he looked towards the guy beside him and his eyes dazed over which meant he was most probably mind linking him, soon we had another bunch of warrior wolves and healers attending to the pack members as well as my dad and me.

My mind was mostly filled with anger at first as the alpha wasn't even here personally but who am I to request for such things as my dad is the alpha and even he did not say a single thing furthermore they are helping us as well, but all those anger simply faded away once I saw Alvin as well as the guy standing beside him, they are both good looking and really cute, at least they are eye candy material and I lessened the anger I felt towards their attitude towards my pack. I know this is shallow, even more so when my pack just went through so much but I can't help it when hot guys like them appear, not only are they candy for the eyes but also refreshments for the soul. Soon my pack, my dad and I settled down, we all had a room of our own, I couldn't help but frown even though we've got a lot of help from them but what I want isn't help, I just want Alvin or the guy by his side to be mine. . . But Alvin and the other guy didn't even bother showing us around they've just got someone else to do it for them and left right after as if rushing off to someplace important. . . I guess I have to just leave it for now, since I am already here I just got to make one of them mine before I leave, now I feel like maybe that that attack that got my pack into such a state isn't as bad after all, even though I felt sad about it at first but at least they should be happy that their deaths are able to help me, their alpha's daughter find a guy she fancies. I started planning everything at the back of my mind while I laid on the bed prepared for me, they will be mine soon.

Alvin's P.O.V

I was already at my car waiting for the 2 tortoises to show up as I am feeling very anxious, if not for those 2 slowpokes I will most likely be halfway across town by now and be nearer to the destination, which meant a step nearer to the answers I need. A minute passed that was when I saw signs of Ryder and Ricky approaching me, Ryder was holding onto a large bulky bag while Ricky was seemingly trying to pull him towards the direction of me.

"Ryder what in the world are you holding on to?" I felt the need to ask as I am guessing the bag that Ryder is holding onto should be the reason for their lateness.

"Sorry Al, I tried dragging this guy here as soon as possible, by the time I've reached his room to drag him over, he was still trying to stuff more bags of chips in that bag of his." Ricky seems to have already given up hope on him and simply sighed.

"B-but, but they are chips! It is important to have food on you always!" Ryder retorted. I felt the need to give myself a facepalm.

"Fine, just get on the car will you, Ricky you will take shotgun, I am not sitting with that huge ass bag in the front."

when we were all settled in the car and about to leave, 2 warrior wolves rushed over and stopped me.

"We have guests, the pack members of the neighboring pack is here." Hearing that I felt my annoyance level rising, why must they arrive now out of every other day or time.

"Got it, I will be there soon to meet with their alpha, give us sometime first," I told the 2 warrior wolves and they backed down and went back to doing their own things.

"Ricky you follow me to meet them, Ryder you stay in the car, and please no more trouble," I emphasized no more trouble hoping it will go through that thick brain of his then walked off with Ricky. Even though Ryder is smart and all and does a lot for the pack but his goofy ness can be the death of me at times. Hopefully, Ricky and I are able to get things settled and rush back to the car before any mishaps happen.
