Chapter 14

They walk the path they have chosen but there is only darkness ahead of them so they had no choice but to keep walking and watch their sorroundings for incoming ambush from the monsters.

"Wait, halt!" Hunter whelm said, she raised her right hand with fist clench signaling them to stop.

They begin to stop walking. "What is it whelm?" Warden ask.

"There is a monster in front of us." She said, she begin to aim at the darkness ahead of them.

"A monster?" A hunter archer said.

"What monster is she talking about?" A hunter warrior said.

"You guys can't see becausd how dark it is but I can sense it from here." Whelm said. "I will shoot a light arrow so light the path ahead of us."

"Please do." Warden said.

Whelm shoot her light arrow illuminating the path, the hunters suddenly saw a giant lizard with red scale and yellow sclera eyes. "Seriously, A salamander?!" A hunter shout.

"Everyone battle formations! Use water attacks if you have one." Warden said.

'Salamander, B-Rank monster with fire attribute and hard thick scale.' Robert thought, this monster is quite tough to kill but it's no problem for them.

They begin to team up against the salamander, first they use magic to close his mouth before he can spit out his fire attack, second attack the salamander with their own ability to penetrate the hard scale of the salamander, third dodge his claws and tail attacks because it will cause you great injury, and last kill him as quickly as possible.

A minute later, they finally kill the salamander. "We got it!" A female mage said.

"Let's go we should keep moving." Whelm said, she begin to take out a blue orb from her inventory.

'Communication orb!' Robert thought when he see what whelm held in her hand.

Communication orb is an item that can be used in a dungeon or tower, modern technology like phones won't work unless they are imbued with mana stone or magic.

"While we continue our journey, i will contact the leader." Whelm said.

They begin to continue their journey and whelm tell Lynch about her team encounter with monsters. They are walk to a cave full of lava below them with long and tall hall fighting more salamander, the tanker use his big shield blocking the salamnder fire while the others attack them.

"Is it done?" Warden said.

"Looks like we have only encounter salamanders on our way." Whelm said. "We haven't encounter any traps, we just need have to keep progressing like this until the end of this cave so we can regroup with the others."

'She is right from we need to regroup with the others also from all the path are available this path is the safest one because there are no traps and the monsters are only B-Rank.' Robert thought.

'I wonder what are the other teams doing right now...' Robert thought.

Team 8 is at the another side of the dungeon are stop looking down at the lava-filled area from the highest floor of the hall.

"Rank A monster 'Lava Golem' that monster is strong with immune to fire attributes" A hunter mage said.

"Do you think we can kill it?" A warrior hunter said, sweatdrop and nervous.

"No, we can't." Ashlin shook her head. "It'll be hard with just the five of us. We need to regroup with the other teams, so let's join them."

"We already lost five members of our team and caliban need to be treated immedeatly." The warrior hunter name henry said, who looks in his mid thirties, blue hair and blue eyes.

"You were right, we encountered many traps and poison arrows so we need to move." Ashlin said.

Caliban is sitting down lean towards wall while panting hard because he was hit by a poison arrow on his shoulder although it would slow down the poison because of his demonic blood.

'CHILD.' Sven immedeatly began to open his eyes.

'M-Marquiss of hell.' Sven said in his mind, he know who is talking in his mind is his sponsor since he is the one who gave him more powers to become stronger.

Flashback

Sven began to remember his days as a hunter, he at first became C-Rank hunter then he fight, raid and train to become stronger until he became B-Rank hunter. He wants more, he up with a dream of climbing to the top but he can't because no matter how much he train and raid, he can't get into higher level.

When he see other hunters became stronger and become high ranker than him making him feel inferior and lost.

Sven is at his home drinking. 'Shit, am i destined to be a B-Ranker? Why can't I become more than that? Am I really doom? Is fate really cruel to me?' He begin to feel frustrated.

Until one faithful day comes to him, a constellation chose him and be his sponsor, gave him more powers and money. That day sven became happy and excited because he was chosen by a constellation with this he became much stronger and became an A-Rank.

But the constellation make a deal with him by eliminating the target that the constellation choose, at first sven was hesitated but later he agreed to obtain more power.

'I want you to kill that hunter name ashlin.' Marquiss said.

'But how, there are other hunters over here beside her.' Sven said in hin mind.

'It does not matter, do whatever it takes to kill ashlin even if it means to kill other hunters.' Marquiss said.

'Alright, as you wish.' Sven said.

'I am waiting and watching for the result!' Marquiss said.

The marquiss and sven ended their conversation. 'I need to kill her quickly so I can gain more power from marquiss.' Sven thought.

"Hey caliban!" He look up see ashlin coming right at him.

"Y-Yes?!" Caliban said. "Is there something wrong?"

Ashlin kneel down in front of caliban. "Are you okay? Do you feel the poison spreading more in your whole body?" She said with worried tone.

"Y-Yes I am okay just feel a little pain but I will survive." Sven reassure her.

Ashlin nod her head. "Just hold a little linger we will regroup with other hunters, then we will take you to a healer to heal you."

"Y-Yes!" Sven said, he smile weakly and make a plan inside his head to kill her.

A shadow began to cover both of them, they look back to see suddenly a big giant red eye staring at them. "R-RUN AWAY!!" Henry shout.

The lava golem spewing lava from its mouth, ashlin's team began to run away along with ashlin carry caliban on her back. The lava golem stop spewing lava and throwing his punch to kill the hunters.

Henry didn't any luck because he got killed by the lava golem fist, the lava golem's hand began to move towards them to kill them. The two other hunters behind ashlin got hit by the lava golem's hand and throw them into the lava killing them.

Ashlin fell kneeling on fours on the ground and caliban was drop from her shoulder lying down in front of her.

"Cough! Cough!" Ashlin began to get up and look at her left.

She see the golem is staring at her with death glare. 'Th-There's no way I cna defeat this golem, my rank is not higher enought to kill it.' She panted hard and grip her staff.

'I am going to die, in a place like this...' she is desperate and want to live but he can't fight back against the strong golem in front of her.

The lava golem was going to spew the lava from his mouth to end her but suddenly the golem got hit on the head by fire magic. The golem and ashlin look who did that and see jason with her arms stretched out casting fire magic.

"Hunter ashlin, get out of there!" Jason take out his sword from his inventory and jump to get on the lava golem's head.

She is stunned to see unknown hunter came to save her.

He begin to use powerful and fast strikes on the golem's head, the lava golem begin to scream in pain and the other hunterd who were with him also began to attack the golem.

"Guys!" Ashlin shout, she is happy to see them arrive in time to save her.

"Everyone focus all your attacks on the golem and avoid his attacks!" Lynch said.

The hunters began to attack the golem with every magic and abilties they have on their disposal, ashlin also join them by casting large roots to apprehand the lava golem so he can't move but the lava golem just brush and burn the roots.

The other teams who are finished the path they take began to arrive and help all the others to kill the golem, jason use his umbrakinesis by turn himself into darkness swiftly move to the golem's leg and engulfing his sword with aura and slash both of the golem's leg making him crippled.

The golem roar in pain and anger, Lynch begin to summon five large eagles and five water horned frogs who are huge with blue skin to damage the golem. She hop on one of her eagles fly towards the golem, the eagles use their wind attribute and the frogs spitting water cannon from their mouth.

"Water Dragon!" Lynch said, she cast two big magic circles from her left and right issued water western dragon roared and hit the lava golem.

Jason move with inhuman speed slashing every part of the lava golem body, he punch the golem's body with his fist imbued with the combination of aura and darkness.

The golem staggered back in pain because of jason's punch. 'What the hell! Did that guy just punch that golem!' Lynch stunned see jason just punch the lava golem with ease.

'Wait... that energy.' Lynch stared and focusing her gaze at jason's hand. 'Is that aura! So this guy is an A-Ranker.' She understand of why jason is strong but what she didn't know jason is C-Rank.

Jason began to deactivate his aura and darkness on his hand began to imbued his fire and darkness ability in his sword to kill the golem with his ultimate attack.

He raised his sword high. "Eat this, you shitty rock monster." He swing his sword down with might intent to kill the golem. "Darkflame!"

Jason's sword start to produce big and long energy darkflame sword soared from the tip of the handle and swing down to split the golem in half.

Tbe golem didn't have time to react and got splited in half, after the lava golem die all the lava on the floor slowly dissapeared making it available for the hunters to walk.

Jason landed perfectly on the ground while holding his sword still engulf in darkflame.

The hunters who watched jason kill the lava golem looked stunned and awe, they can feel the power from that sword attack. 'Amazing! He just kill the lava golem in one swing.' Lynch looked at jason' back amazed.

'Wow, that guy is strong.' Ashlin look at jason, intrigued.

Jason turned around to walk back towards the hunters, the hunters began to gather around jason and praised him of his power killing the lava golem.

"Woah, man, you're amazing!"

"Yeah, you just kill that lava golem in one single strike!"

"You're very strong!"

The hunters keeps complimenting him, Lynch who landed on the ground and cancel all her summons began to talk. "Hey, you!" The sound of Lynch was heard making all the hunters see her.

She walk toward jason direction making all the hunters make way for her, she stop in front of jason. "What's your name?" Lynch ask.

"Team leader!" Tusk ran back to her but he stop to see Lynch is walking her way and talk to jason.

Jason look at her for a minute. "Blaze, my name is hunter blaze." Jason said, he said his hunter codename.

Lynch nod her head. "Hunter blaze, I want to say thank you for killing that lava golem and saving us." Lynch said.

"No problem, after all we need as many hunters to survive as possible if we want to succed on this raid." Jason said.

"You're right, we need many hunters to succed in this raid!" Lynch looked down then look at jason again. "From the way you move and that powerful ability, you must be an A-Rank hunter."

"Well... actually I wouldn't say that I am an A-Ranker." Jason said.

Lynch is surprise of jason words. "Eh, what do you mean?" Jason scratched his head. "Actually my rank is not A-Rank."

The hunters who heard him stunned and wide eyed, they just heard this man rank is not A-Rank but that attack is equivelant to A-Rank hunter or above.

"What does that mean... you are above A-Rank?" Lynch said, surprised.

"No... by the way shouldn't we check the other hunters how many of us survive not asking about my rank!" Jaosn said, he dodge her question and change the subject.

"You're right, now's not the time for that." Lynch agree with jason, now's not the time asking for his rank but continue the raid. "Everyone gather the hunters who are injured and healers heal them as mush as possible, we need every hunter that can still fight for this raid." They begin to to Lynch's order.

"Tusk, gather all the Rainsglades members so i can hear about their reports on each path they took before." Lynch said to tusk.

"Rogert!" Tusk said, he begin to turn around to tell the other Rainglades members to report to the team leader but he is gloomy, anger and jealous.

When he see Lynch talking to jason like someone close to her, he feels angry and look at jason with hatred. 'Just you wait!' He clench his fist.

He also didn't believe that jason rank is above A-Rank, he believe he is the sam rank as him, so he will fight him when no one is around them.

Robert look at tusk with anger on his face began to smile 'looks like the villain is now angry at the protaginist.' He can't wait to see the confrontation between the villain and the protagonist.
