Ch 2 - The king's request

Next day-

Sophiala kingdom north block, sunset forest.

He was sleeping that was disturbed by the rays of sun directly over his face revealing his face.

He got up and sat down and hears the steps of horse's feet.

"Lord Karthik, the king summoned you urgently. It's an emergency" The royal guard came down from horse and delivered king's message in respectful way.

His head was hurting so he waved his hand and told that guard to leave and after it that guard stood up at some distance silently. Karthik took off his hoodie and from head and looked at the beer bottle.

"Hey, you guard, do you have beer?" He asked by looking at that guard and then that guard goes near his horse and took out a bottle of royal wine from bag and handover it to him.

"Lord Karthik, King Romanoff has send this royal wine for you. And if you come with me now then royal family will pay for your drinking expenses." The guard says while expecting a humble reply from him but after taking a sip of royal wine he threw away that bottle and caught the guard from neck.

"What the hell was that, You call this beer" He was furious and threatening that guard like tiger. Guard was struggling to remove his hand from his neck. He was also struggling in breathing and his eyes were almost came out from skull.

After sometime he released him and that guard fell on knees and started taking longer breaths. "Sir, forgive me. It was the royal wine only exclusive to royal family."

He look behind with sharp eyes and said in his heavy voice "What the matter, why king want to see me?"

That guard got up and then said "Have you ever heard of Demon king?"

He got surprised because the word demon remind him of Isabella so he then came near that guard and asked him more about this matter.

The guard started telling him the scene and after it Karthik felt a surge of revenge in his blood stream. "Thr demon king Kroos! So the king is gathering all top level hunters and adventurers to defend against the army of demons. Nice task but what's the reward?"

The guard then said "Our kingdom Sophiala is is a resource rich kingdom, so the king promised to give hundred good bars to everyone above Level 100 just after joining royal army. And the one who will contribute mist will get chance to get a special position in royal court."

Karthik then waved his hand again and tell that guard to leave but that guard then said "Sir, king ordered me to take you back to royal court. He wants to meet you urgently."

Karthik think sometimes and then he wears his hoodie and summoned his thunder beast and sat over it. "Shall we go" After hearing this that royal guard sat over his horse and they started journey towards the kingdom.

In the main capital city -

The while city is in panic and doing arrangements to migrate to a safe place, the royal soldiers were marching and keeping the control over crowd and doing war preparations.

"Why all this so soon, don't we have enough time to defeat demons?" He asked the royal guard and on it Royal Guard elegantly replied "The king don't want to involve the civilians in war so he ordered the royal army to transfer all civilians to the East Sophiala and the civilians of our kingdom have only some days to prepare for leave. In your eyes the demons were nothing but the king knows what demons capable of."

On it Karthik took sip of beer and replied "Demons are nothing less than monster if they don't have intelligence and magic power. Just mindless monsters lead by royal demon family. You remind me of her the most beautiful demons I have ever seen."

Karthik leans back while the thunder beast is walking on it's own. The royal guard became slightly friendly with him and asked "Really, you are calling a demon beautiful... My age is twenty seven and I have killed over hundreds of demons and many monsters but still I haven't seen any single beautiful demon."

Karthik then sat down and said "Seriously, don't you know about the demon princess Isabella. She was the most beautiful girl I have ever seen after..." He stopped all of a sudden because he remind of Melissa so he just gulp beer and changed topic.

"Why you stopped talking, you were talking about Isabella, the princess of demons." The royal guard curiously asked and then Karthik replied "I meet her ten years ago and since then I haven't seen her. She is a good girl and also helped me to escape from demon soldiers and also saved me once."

The royal guard put sword in his neck and look at him with eyes full of killing intent and on it Karthik released his deadly aura and slightly injured that royal guard and said "Why you are in hurry to die?"

The royal guard balance his horse and said "I was just kidding, why so serious. Actually you mentioned Demons so I thought you are involved with them."

Karthik came down from his thunder beast after reaching the entrance of castle and the thunder beast disappeared, he started walking in rhythm with royal guard and then he said "I left her because I don't her to suffer danger because of me. And I was just 20 back then and now I am 30 now and in these last ten years I still didn't forgot her. Have you ever loved someone?"

The royal guard became slightly shy and started behaving like a shy guy and said while scratching back of his head and said "Actually, Yes, I loved someone but I don't know she loves me or not."

Karthik then curiously came in front of him and asked "Really! Who is that lucky girl. Come on tell me, I'll help you to impress her"

The royal guard then smiled and said with blushing face "I am glad after knowing you want to help me but that girl is out of my league. I can't marry her can't even dare to see her face. Still I haven't seen her face but I have seen her eyes. Just like the blue ocean which is hiding a lot of secrets within itself."
