Chapter 2

It is already weekend. Paul and I planned to meet at their house this day in order for us to finish our school tasks right away. He had already gave his address to me last Friday .

I got up in my bed and checked the time on my phone. It is already twelve in the afternoon. I brushed my teeth and do a few cardio exercises.

I went to my dad's room and sighed in disappointment. He's drunk again.

Beer cans cluttered in his room and  I picked it up.As I was cleaning the mess my dad made in his room I saw a photo of me,my older brother,dad, and mom . I stared for about a minute at our family photo at dad's bedroom table. Those were happy times.

I do have a big brother his name is Aciel Jace Gatchallian. He resides in Barcelona. He left. Leaving me all alone in this house but I never judged him or hate him for doing that.

He hated my dad for letting mom marry our stepfather. Our stepdad is more understanding and loving husband to my mom. I get along with my stepdad and he is one of the nicest person that I have ever met.

As soon as I finished cleaning up I decided to leave a message on my brother through chat.

Me: Hi kuya! How are you there? I miss you so much!

For a couple of minute my phone buzzed. Kuya replied.

Kuya: Hi Baby AJ do not worry about me I am doing fine here. How about you there in Philippines?

I replied.

Me: I am fine kuya! I have a lot to do this day. Bye. baby AJ loves you.

He never replied back. Maybe he is busy in his work. I checked the time and it is already 1:45  PM.

I took a shower and after that I picked an outfit that I am most comfortable wear. I usually wore t-shirt and jeans matching those paired with my white sneakers.

I put on a little bit of makeup to cover my blemishes. I tied in my hair into a high ponytail so that I will not tuck my hair while doing schoolworks.  I prepared the things that we will be needing then put it my small backpack.

I leave small note at dad's bedroom table that I am going to do my schoolworks and go home right after. I do not want to disturb him sleeping.

I texted Paul  that I will arrive in 30 minutes and never replied. I rolled my eyes. I waited for his reply but he never did.

I arrive at the adress Paul Perez gave I asked few people where Perez' resides then they point at the large mansion at the end of the street. I walked towards the area .

The cream coating of the paint shined as the sun hit it causing me to squint. Uniquely shaped fencing kept the house protected.The slope of the roof is slanting down at an angle.

The windows had red curtains on the other 

side of them drawn to enable sunlight to stream through.When I walked onto the pavements, I spotted a marble fountain on left side of the grass lawn. A sculpture of godess holding a globe in her hand looking up to the sky.Water sprinkled at her other hand. The water plunged slowly towards the crystal blue pool below it,allowing the ripples to form and wave away until they were not longer there.

I walked towards the extravagant house then pressed the doorbell living the 'dingdong' sound. It was a moment later when a sophisticated woman smiling at me that makes her chinky eyes seem to closed.

"Come on in ."she said with her inviting smile.
