CHAPTER 24

Selena's butler led them into the mansion, Trina and Gowon couldn't help but exclaim in amusement as they stared around.

"Trina".Selena stood up and embrace them leaving Gowon bewildered. "You must be Gowon, Trina's told me a lot about you...am-

"Selena,am a big fan of you,I love your designs they're the best".Gowon said nervously.

Selena laugh briefly and requested for them to seat opposite her as a maid place a cup of coffee before them and left.

"Why did you call me here? Is Asher ok?Why did he not show up at school?".

"His probably upset. ..did he ever tell you why he hates our father?".

Trina shook her head."He doesn't trust me a lot".

"What his father and the girl he once loved made him to not trust so easily. ..after he got over his friend death. .our father tricked him and got him engaged to Alexia....our father never cared for us nor our mother,he brought ladies to the house even in front of us and we watch our mother go through emotional breakdown. We loathe him a lot then out of nowhere he got Asher engaged to the girl he hated and he hated him more...Am telling you this so you can understand him especially when he shut himself in the house for a long time".Trina only nods unable to say a word.And there she thought he had a perfect family. Precisely no one had a perfect family.

Finally it was the night of the party everyone was excited about.They all got dressed in their best cloths.

The party was held in a club with loud music that filled their ears,drinks on everyone's table and people dancing on the dance floor.

Trina,Gowon, Madison and Teddy walks into the club and sat at a corner as a waiter place four bottles of bear before them and left.

"Have never been to a party before".Ted said and took a gulp of his beer as Gowon watched him,she couldn't believe he was trying to get her jealous by sticking close to Madison or the other way to make her and this so called Reuben jealous thanks to Trina who told her that Madison was high heels in love with Reuben and she figured the rest out.

"Try not to get drunk".She winked at him and sip her beer.

"Boo!!!".Asher screamed causing Trina to jump like a startled cat almost upsetting the table.

"Hey!!!!".She elbowed him on the shoulder.

"Ouch!".He cried out in a feign pain.

"It didn't hurt that much, you sissy".She giggle as he sat down next to Ted.

"Whatever! You must be Gowon the rebel".He smiled.

"At your serves" .She said.

"S..E..R..V..I..C..E".Trina corrected. "Service not serves".

Gowon glared at Trina before saying."Yh,at your serves".She repeated her mistake on purpose to annoy Trina and gladly it did and she stick her tongue at her.

Asher could not help but laugh at both of them foolishness."Glad to finally meet you,your crazy friend sings your name non stop".Gowon laughed. "I think she's in love with you".He added.

"Really?".Gowon nudged her as she turns red.

"Shut up!".She snaps.

"Hello Madison and to you too Ted" .He greeted and sips Ted's beer.

"Hi".They both said.

"Where is Reuben?".Madison asked as Asher signal for a waitress to bring a bottle of brandy and five shot.

He averted his attention to Madison and smiled cheerfully.

"With Linda of course but don't worry he will come here in no time to see you, trust me"He winked at her that made her blush.

"Hmm".Gowon lean in and empty her bottle and decided to play along. "You look so flushed Madison,do you happen to like this Reuben?".

"What no?".

"Really?but he speaks a lot about you" Asher says as the waitress place his order before him blushing. "Poor Reuben will be devastated to hear this-".

"Hear what?".Reuben chip in as he and Linda sat beside Gowon who flashed her a mischievous smile causing Linda to shriek in fear.

"Hi Reuben, we were just talking about you".Trina said as Asher handed a half filled shot glass to Trina,Gowon,Madison and Ted.

"What about mine?".Linda smiled seductively.

"You have a boyfriend don't you?".He said coldly and lean in and sip his brandy.

"Geez!Asher she's my girlfriend alright" .Reuben said filling the shot glass.

"Sorry".He apologize. Asher never liked Linda and he knew she doesnt love Reuben a bit but for the sake of his friend he had to keep shut and tolerate her.

"Is no problem" .She smiled and emptied the shot immediately. "Taste nice. ..Can you pour some more for me?".She asked Asher as she licks her lips seductively. Trina clenched her fist in rage as her throat went dry with jealousy.

She was about to speak when Gowon laughs and twirl the content of the brandy which was in her shot glass before she sips it as everyone stared at her puzzled.

"Is that how you go around occupying men's bed by seducing them?".Gowon asked nonchalantly.

"What? W...who are you to say such to me?".Linda blink back the tears that was about to well down her face.

"Is enough!!!!!".Reuben slammed the table with his hands."Stop accusing her and who the fuck are you to say such!!!!!".

Linda hand trembled in fear that this psychopath might expose her.

"Why don't you ask Linda how she knows her?".Madison added. "Linda please tell us? ".

"I..I..I don't know her".She stutters in fear.Linda stood up."I.,,I got-".

"You really don't know who I am huh?maybe this will refresh your memory" .Gowon yanked an empty bottle and slam it on the floor next to Linda who had shut her eyes in fear.

"Ohh!now I figured out where I saw you that day my bestie broke your head when you were at Nike's place".Trina added.

"Nike!!!!!".Reuben nods.

"The fake Casanova, tsk tsk. .you should have chosen someone better rather then a cheap playboy" .Asher laugh and sip his brandy as Reuben glared at him before he adverted his gaze to Linda who was tearing up.

"I can't believe you could do this to me!!!!".He yelled and storm off as Linda follows.

"What the heck are waiting for?follow him Madison".Gowon said. Madison nodded, pick up her bag and ran after them.

"Way to go Gowon".Trina gave her a thumbs up as she smiled and stood up.

"Ted we need to talk.come with me".She demanded and walk away as Ted follows.

"Whoo!!!".Asher laughs and took a gulp of his brandy.

"Are you okay?".He heard her ask and he nods.

"Yeah,what happened?".

"Nothing just worried because of your dad".She sip her brandy as she heard Asher laugh."What?".

"That's not how to drink from a shot glass" .

"Is there a way?".She questioned.

"Take it immediately instead of sipping it".She nods and took a gulp emptying the shot glass.

She suddenly choke as Asher laugh harder.

"Gosh Trina! You look so cute".Seeing the look on her face he realized he shouldn't have said that."Sorry".He apologized.

"Asher".They heard Vera call making her way towards them."I didn't know you came if not I would have sat with you...are you going home ?can you drop me home I forgot my car".

"Yeah sure-".

"Don't you have a FIANCE Vera?Aiden is right over there? ".Trina chip in as she receives deadly glares from Vera.

"Aiden is your Fiance? ".Asked Asher.

"Yeah-".

"I think he should drop you off before he rips my head off".He suggested. Vera nods and walk away."So she's the one that stole Aiden from you?".

"Yeah,my cousin. .don't mingle with her she's a snake"Asher shrug.

"She's kind of hot-".

"Hey!".Trina gritted her teeth causing him to laugh.

"Just saying besides she never did anything to me so I can't despise her...come along let me drop you home" .Trina stood up pull her bag on her shoulder and followed him out of the Club.

Madison made her way towards Reuben who was sitting on a street bench staring up at the star.

"Reuben".She called .

"You knew right? ".He ask her without looking at her.

She gave him a slight nod and sat down next to him.

"I couldn't tell you, I didn't want you to be so heartbroken".She snort. "But you still found out,am sorry".

"Is this how love really works?you did this for my happiness despite how hurt you were to see us together ,why do you love me this much?".He questioned.

"Because your different" .She said as she watched him come closer to her.

He was now so close to her that she could pick up the intoxicating smell of cologne that made her dizzy. His hands appears on her face as he pulled a few strand of her hair behind her ear.

"Your beautiful Madison have I ever told you that?".She shook her head unable to speak.

He then lowered his head and buried his lips into hers.
