This novel is severely underrated, it’s not generic or cliche but it is completely unpredictable. I’ve found myself surprised with the developments a number times and unlike with other novels, I can’t often predict what will happen next. Little details which you originally thought were pretty irrelevant end up weaving together with other plot devices to blow your mind away. The story keeps on getting deeper and deeper, when you think you’ve finally got an idea of what’s happening the author manages to throw a spanner in the works as he dives to another level. Great main character and all side characters have their own backstories and depth. Enemies aren’t stupid and although a lot of characters in chinese novels tend to be small minded, in this novel it’s different. Their opinions can change, they grow as people. The world building is amazing, it evolves with the story and you learn with the main character. The author does a great job of leading you on, when you think you know you just don’t. I’ve stopped at 900 chapters and will be coming back when it’s fully translated. If this novel keeps up the quality and has a good ending it will without a doubt be top 5 novels ever. Only reason I won’t give it first is because other novels shine differently. This is number one for unpredictability, it may be a dull word to describe it with but creating a good story that doesn’t coincide with other stories is a much larger feat than you’d think

This novel is very well written and really pleasing, refreshing to read. Here are a few among great things: Characters are all fleshed out, from MC to his family, buddies, and enemies. People have normal lives, and not everyone is trying to cultivate like other novels, which is great (I hate it when grandfather, dad, mom, brother, sister, cousin, spouse,… of MC all try to cultivate, so frustrated, and for what?) Also, in this novel, old people are wise, not some greedy man-child, they use their lives experience to teach younger people, not just hand out some family techniques. World building is awesome, the info is sprinkled throughout the novel, not dumped on top of reader then be forgotten. MC grows up and has the chance to travel further and further from home, and his world expands with him naturally. Also, things happen for reasons, not because the author said so. MC is very likeable, he is smart, forthright and sly. He also knows patience as well as compassion, unlike most other MC who only knows how to kill and cultivate and care for a very few individuals. Also, he is not arrogant, thanks to constant reminder from his family. MC also doesn’t have any cheat-like attribute or system, so his achievements feel earned and satisfying, rather than being expected or just a matter-of-course. He shows up and gives 110% effort when it counts but very chill normally (which makes hilarious scenes). He also gets beaten around by all sort of things, but totally cool about it. From his upbringing, he respects and cares deeply for his family, friends, through thoughts, and actions (from big to small), unlike other MC who “show” their caring by shoving techniques, cultivation materials that they don’t use onto others (for real? Is that how you want your children to behave?) The pace of the story is super good, a great amount of word each character (I fear for my SS when this goes premium, which is very likely and deserving). There is no rush to go to higher cultivation tier; the story invests time to fully explain what is going on, significant about the current cultivation tier, which make readers feel closer to MC in a way. And there is no forced conflict, not all fights are life-or-death. Sorry for the wall of words, this is my first review, and I really love this novel so far. I hope you enjoy it too. If you like a block-head MC, who goes around killing everyone, steal everything, encounter all sorts of random left behind fortune, compare his d…, I mean his cultivation progress with anyone he sees, but use his secret cheats to beat up weaker people, incurring surprises after surprises after surprises from everyone, this may not be for you. This novel should be required reading for all authors (Whether it's xianxia, xuanhuan, Wuxia, Sci-Fi, etc.) to show what is possible with the format. ToHG puts basically every other novel to shame. I'm continuously blown away by how the plot progresses and unfolds, along with the great character development. The cliche'd "murder-hobos" and ****ty young masters are nowhere to be found, and characters who are supposed to be smart ARE ACTUALLY SMART. ToHG proves that you don't have to make everyone a moron to make the MC stand out. Also, the world building is so good that the MC doesn't have to do the usual "Well, I'm too OP in the mortal world, time to go to a higher realm and reset the power levels". The closest other work I can think of to compare to this novel is Gintama (manga/anime). It also has comedy, tragedy, and super hype battles, and most of all it keeps you guessing as to what's going to happen, since the typical overused tropes don't apply.

I don't understand you people at all, you stopped the novel to start the manga which you don't even update frequently and I'm sure you won't also update till the end. Anytime I reassure myself that webnovel will get better you end up disappointing me the more. I know it's not an easy job to translate but please and please, it's very heartbreaking when you start a nice cultivation book and not finish it... Do you have how hurt we the readers are and how disappointed we become? I don't think so. I've read over 20 books which just got stopped halfway... Like why would you even start when you can't finish? Why? It hurts! I'm even reluctant to start new books because I don't trust you'd ever be able to complete them. Hence why I've been stuck at Level 5 for more than a year now. Notable among these books is the very book, Realms in the firmament Emperor's Domination, Tales of demons and God's, nine sún godking amongst others... Please and please... Pick up those books or the more people download this app and start enjoying it and then get disappointed in the way you cut beautiful works short... I rest my case

If you are going charge spirit stone, charge it for extra chapters you write and not for fucking previously translated work.I have no problem to use spirit stone for extra translated chapter but you r just screwing around charging for earlier done work.

Overall opinion - normal story, that suffers from heavy plot armor of mc, his own plainness compared to his "elders" and lack of story drive to actually be intrested in heavy reading. Most importantly "villain" which is defined as mc role doesnt mean he will be doing evil stuff or smth about being evil. It means that he is inhumanly genious that crushes common sense of this world, hence crushing spirit of his enemies and inducing despair on them - hence evil doer or villain (in their eyes). More precise opinion - Good: 1 - intresting story beginning with right amount of mystery about mc and his current place of living. 2 - good and funny elders with defined character and not som plane "super masters" kinda chars that do nothing but shower mc with good stuff. 3 - good qualuty of translation and update speed which helps in understanding story even with my lvl of english. 4 - good description of mc growth, his character and his struggles on the way of cultivation of power. He actually intrested about stuff going on around him, which helps him to avoid truble instead of brute force his way. Bad: 1 - heavy plot armor, that almost throws all the good stuff to mc. Sure thing he is hardworking, but this story lacks (just like many of same genre) any real pressure on reader since he knows that mc will get good stuff anyway which makes all mystery and potential danger nullified. 2 - mc is too plain and boring when compared to his "elders". Its just mine problem perhaps, but i cant help myself to be more intresded in them rather then mc. Reason? Mc doesnt struggle really hard nor is he achieves his power through death and life dangers. Hes is just gets evr good just by living or walking around and finding som great stuff. I am more intrested in uncle butcher, how powerful he was and what led him to such tragic end, what Granny is tormented by and so on. While mc..... he is just abandoned child and has superior body that allows him to be all powerful? I'd be more intrested if he achieved that himself through surpassing dangers and stuff. Thats why its 1 for char design of mc. 3 - story development.... its just too common. Mc just finds super rare stuff or martial arts everywhere. Or his elders drop som great stuff on him. While mc is quite passive and doesnt do anything really, just walks and PUF - new cave with treasures or som aportunity to learn or get good stuff. I cant be really intrested in this, more so with boring mc (for me atleast). 4 - world building... its neither good nor bad. Its just strange. There is super op empire and super dangerous grounds.... but it all seems unimportant cuz op empire is just som backround stuff while dangerous grounds doesnt really show any danger to mc due to plot armor and instead acts as treasure ground for mc. And even when empire will start to act... its just wont be that important nor pose any danger to mc... Instead it may become another stepping stone for mc. And later there will be even more op group anyway (not spoiler, just common stuff). Thats all. Sorry for bad english.

Creepy, suspenseful, weird but at the same time interesting and likeable. There should be more antihero stories but not the likes "God Of Slaughter" which is completely violent and abusive most of the time. Right now "Deadpool" is making a big ruckus everywhere and people are loving it! So in a way all I am saying is that even if the MC is antihero, he should have his boundaries to ponder over.....

It is an amazing story that has been let down. World building and character creation is amazing while you’ll get a plot that is hard to find in hundreds of wuxia stories. Here’ s the bone I’m picking. From chapter 1138 the translation, character titles, genders, names, laws and dao has been muddled to the stage the story is unrecognisable it is disgusting and infuriating. The amazing story dies at chapter 1137 until translator or updater goes through and fixes it, the story will remain unreadable PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT

This is the best novel I found on Webnovel yet sadly it seems to be cancelled... And right at one of the best parts! I feel sorry for the translator and all of us readers, hopefully one day this will get picked up again.
