RURI'S P.O.V

Ugh, just when I thought I could have the whole day to myself so I could read but no~~ I have to go investigate some stupid tragedy about someone or something killing rogue demons that we don't give a fuck about, and who must do it? Oh of course they can choose anyone else in the whole facility butttt they chose me~, Ruri thought.

Ruri is known as a bookworm, he is an intellectual and unfazed by most things outside of books. He values those that help him in his pursuit of new literature and those that have a similar interest, which he at times even will l compliment in a roundabout way.

However, regardless of his almost harmless behavior if not erratic curiosity, he can give of a treating pressure. Should somebody try to interrupt his reading, he will react with extreme violence.

As Ruri reluctantly gathered his things and prepared to leave for Maesaki City, he couldn't help but grumble to himself. "Why do I always get stuck with these mundane tasks? I should be delving into the depths of ancient texts, not investigating some petty demon killings."

He sighed heavily, his annoyance evident in his voice. "But I suppose I have no choice. Oboro won't let me hear the end of it if I don't complete this assignment. And who knows, maybe there's something interesting hidden within this seemingly insignificant case."

He casted a teleporting spell and got sent into a alley in Maesaki City, hoping no one saw him but if they did , he would have to get rid of them.

Ruri made his way to the forest, his mind already drifting back to the books he had left behind. As he walked through the forest, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The atmosphere was heavy, and the silence was deafening.

"Great, just what I needed," Ruri muttered sarcastically. "A creepy forest filled with rogue demons. This day just keeps getting better and better."

He cautiously continued his journey, his eyes scanning the surroundings for any signs of danger. Suddenly, he heard a rustling sound behind him, causing him to jump in surprise.

"Who's there?" Ruri called out, his voice filled with a mix of curiosity and caution. "Show yourself!"

After a few seconds an annoying voice came behind the bush, "Hi there!!" As the figure appeared out of the bush.

Ruri's eyes widened, "A human!!?? In the forest at night!??"

SATORU'S P.O.V

Satoru was trying to fall asleep on his makeshift bed when suddenly the system warned him that an incredible threat had entered the forest. He groaned in frustration, knowing that he couldn't ignore such a warning. Reluctantly, he got up and grabbed Solã, preparing himself for a potential confrontation.

As he made his way through the forest, Satoru tried to move as quietly as possible. He didn't want to alert the threat to his presence. However, in his attempt to be stealthy, he accidentally stepped on a twig, causing a loud snap.

"Who's there? Show yourself!" a voice called out from behind a bush. Satoru's heart skipped a beat as he realized he had been discovered. He took a deep breath and decided to play it cool, pretending to be a normal harmless human.

Stepping out from behind the bush, Satoru put on his most innocent smile. "Hi there!! I was just taking a walk in the forest. I didn't expect to run into anyone."

The person eyed Satoru suspiciously, clearly not convinced by his act. "A walk in the forest at this hour? Don't you know there are demons out at night??"

Satoru chuckled nervously, trying to maintain his composure. "Oh, no, not at all! I know these woods like the back of my hand, I always avoid them. I just enjoy the tranquility of nature, you know?"

"System who the hell is this guy that looks like the evil version of Peter Pan??" Satoru thought nervously as he was conversing with the man in front of him.

The system scanned the man in front and answered, "This is no man but a demon Satoru. His name is Ruri, a high ranking member of N.O.M.A.D.

Satoru's eyes widened in surprise as he processed the information. "A demon? And a high-ranking member of N.O.M.A.D? This is unexpected," he thought to himself. He quickly turned to the system, his curiosity piqued.

"System, tell me more about Ruri. What is his history? How did he become a member of N.O.M.A.D?" Satoru asked, eager to learn more about the demon standing before him.

The system processed the request and began to relay the information. "Ruri is a demon with a unique set of skills and abilities. He possesses an extensive knowledge of ancient texts and has a deep passion for literature. His expertise in deciphering ancient languages and uncovering hidden knowledge made him a valuable asset to N.O.M.A.D."

Satoru nodded, absorbing the information. "So, he's not just a bookworm, but a highly skilled individual. That explains his reluctance to be involved in this investigation. He must prefer the comfort of his books over the dangers of the outside world."

As Satoru contemplated Ruri's role within N.O.M.A.D, he couldn't help but wonder about the demon's motivations. "System, is there anything else I should know about Ruri? Any particular traits or tendencies that I should be aware of?"

The system processed the request once again before responding. "Ruri is known for his erratic curiosity and can become extremely violent if his reading is interrupted. He values those who share his passion for literature and may even compliment them in his own unique way. However, he can also be quite dismissive and sarcastic towards those he deems unworthy of his attention."

Satoru nodded, taking note of Ruri's unpredictable nature. "Thank you, system. This information will be useful as I navigate this investigation with Ruri. I have to pretend I'm just a useless human and must be cautious and ensure that our interactions remain on a positive note."

"Ummm, are you perhaps lost? Why are you here?" Satoru asked pretending to be nervous.

Ruri eyed him for a second, "Hmph, none of your business mongrel. Get out of my site before I use you as bait for the demons." He said disgusted.

"Okayyyy, I'm going now but I hope you make it out.....emo Peter Pan." Satoru responded but the last part he whispered.

RURI'S P.O.V

As Satoru was about to walk away, "Wait." Ruri said with killing intent. How would a pathetic human survive in these woods with thousands of demons walking around, and it looks like this isn't the first time his done this? And how did I not sense him when I got into the forest but only when he made a sound behind me?? Something isn't right here, how dare this mongrel lie to my face!!!! Ruri thought.
