Chapter 14

RURI'S P.O.V

Two guards were chatting outside of Base gate, when suddenly a vortex opened up in front of them and saw a man fall out and was all bloody and breathing heavily.

The guards took a defensive position and approached the man and when they saw the face of the figure they were surprised, "Ruri sir!!!??? Quick, call for a medic and tell madam Oboro what happened here!!!!" The guards screamed before attending to Ruri on the ground.

A FEW MINUTES LATER

Ruri slowly regained consciousness, his vision blurry as he tried to make sense of his surroundings. The voices of the guards echoed in his ears, their urgency evident. He groaned in pain, his body aching from that stupid human.

"What... happened?" Ruri managed to croak, his voice weak.

One of the guards knelt down beside him, concern etched on his face. "Sir, you suddenly teleported in front of Base all bloody and bruised. We're not sure how or why, but we're getting you help. Just hang in there."

Ruri nodded, his mind racing with questions. How did he end up in this state? It was that human right? He tried to recall the events leading up to him teleporting away, but his memories were hazy.

As the guards tended to his injuries, Ruri's thoughts turned to the mission he had been assigned. He had been investigating a series of rogue demon occurrences, trying to uncover the truth behind the mysterious mass killings of rogue demons that seemed to be emerging. But now, he found himself on the other side of the equation, a potential threat to the very organization he had sworn to protect.

Madam Oboro, the leader of the organization, arrived at the scene, her expression a mix of massive killing intent and anger. "Ruri, what happened?" she asked, her voice commanding and one second away from killing everyone in sight.

Ruri struggled to sit up, wincing in pain. "I...it was this fucking mongrel of a human!, Madam Oboro. One moment, I was investigating, and the next, I found myself fighting a human but I never thought I would end up like this, it's disgusting...I feel disgusting!!!!!."

Oboro's eyes narrowed, her gaze piercing. "A human!!??? How is that possible???? We need to find out who is behind this. Ruri, you must recover quickly. We cannot afford to have any weaknesses in our ranks."

'I have to inform Sir Edwin about this immediately.' Oboro thought as she was walking down the hall.

Ruri watched as Madam Oboro disappeared down the hall, her footsteps echoing in the silence. He knew that she would not rest until she found out who was responsible for his current state. But as he lay there, his body battered and broken, he couldn't help but feel a sense of shame. How could he, a powerful demon, be defeated by a mere human?

The guards continued to tend to his injuries, their movements gentle yet efficient. Ruri could sense their concern, their loyalty to the organization shining through their actions. He appreciated their dedication, but he couldn't shake off the feeling of humiliation that washed over him.

"Sir, we've called for a medic. They should be here soon," one of the guards informed him, his voice filled with genuine worry.

Ruri nodded weakly, his mind still clouded with confusion. How had he underestimated the power of a human? He had always prided himself on his strength and abilities, but now he found himself questioning everything he thought he knew.

As he lay there, lost in his thoughts, Ruri couldn't help but wonder about the mission he had been assigned. The rogue demon occurrences, the mass killings, they all seemed connected somehow. But now, he was on the other side of the equation, a potential threat to the organization

The sound of approaching footsteps snapped Ruri out of his reverie. He turned his head to see a medic rushing towards him, a sense of urgency in their eyes. They quickly assessed his injuries and began administering treatment, their hands moving with practiced precision.

Ruri winced as the medic's touch brought both pain and relief. He knew that his recovery would take time, but he also knew that he had to regain his strength as soon as possible. So I can personally find that damn human and torture him and make him my test subject. Besides, the organization needed him, and he couldn't afford to let them down.

OBORO'S P.O.V

Oboro's mind raced as she made her way towards Sir Edwin's office. She couldn't shake off the feeling of anger and frustration that consumed her. How could a mere human overpower one of their strongest demons? It was a disgrace to their organization, and she has to get to the bottom of it.

As she approached Sir Edwin's office, Oboro took a deep breath to steady herself. She knew that she had to present the situation calmly and objectively. She knocked on the door and entered, finding Sir Edwin engrossed in his work.

"Sir Edwin," Oboro began, her voice firm and composed. "I have urgent news regarding Ruri's condition and the involvement of a human in his injuries."

Sir Edwin looked up from his desk, his expression serious. "Oboro, what happened?"

Oboro nodded, her eyes filled with anger. "Ruri is currently receiving medical treatment, and the prognosis is positive. However, we have reason to believe that a human was responsible for his injuries."

Sir Edwin's brows furrowed in concern. "A human??? How is that possible? We must investigate this matter thoroughly. Do we have any leads?"

Oboro sighed, her frustration evident. "Unfortunately, we don't have much information at the moment. Ruri mentioned that he was investigating rogue demon occurrences before the incident. It seems that these occurrences may be connected to the human involved."

Sir Edwin leaned back in his chair, deep in thought. "We cannot afford to underestimate the power of humans. They may not possess supernatural abilities, but their evolution can be something....we must gather more information and assess the threat level."

Oboro nodded in agreement. "I have already ordered a thorough investigation into the rogue demon occurrences. We need to find out who is behind this and their connection to the human. We cannot allow our organization to be compromised."

Sir Edwin stood up, his expression resolute. "Oboro, I trust your judgment in handling this matter. Keep me updated on any developments. We cannot let this incident go unpunished."
