Chapter #15

AN: Man Prototype section of the fic is turning into a badly written drama(I am at #22 at this point and there is no action at all so far.) and I can't extract myself from it. I need to reach to the promised land of Anime quickly.

Soon Zeno reached his class, there was only one kindergarten class in the whole school due to the low population.

He was naturally pissed at Dana who left him outside so he found a place away from her.

[Are you seriously holding a grudge against a six year old?] The system asked.

It was concerned about Zeno's mental health, this world was supposed to be a vacation but so far everything was nothing better than a burning pile of shit.

['I should do better in his next life and give him a some peace.'] The system thought before being surprised at itself getting soft.

'I am still on edge due to listening to the granny category of pornhub for the past two years.' Zeno grumbled as he closed his eyes.

The sound of children playing was better than the horrors of his current home. Zeno doesn't even like children.

[That's fair.]

Some kids approached him to invite him to play but Zeno was blissfully asleep.

Dana on the other hand was observing Zeno, she wasn't invited to play with others.

They lived in a close knit community, Zeno was a stranger that no one knew they approached him just fine since he never got outside the house but her situation was a bit different.

Her mother's alcoholism and her absent father was well known in the neighborhood and most parents told their children to stay away from her and her brother.

'Like my brother said, I shouldn't bother with the opinions of others.' Dana thought to herself while continuing to observe the class.

However much Alex tried to protect his sister, she was forced to mature early.

Zeno's sleep was soon disturbed by the teacher who reprimanded him for sleeping instead of whatever the kids do at kindergarten.

The teacher's words just entered Zeno's ears then left from his other ear.

Still, he was forced to participate in the class activities which were boring for Zeno.

'I should just skip grades. This time I can go straight to college and become a minor celebrity.' He thought to himself while packing his stuff.

On the way out he saw some kids throwing rolled up papers to Dana who just took the hits without doing anything.

Zeno considered the option of letting it happen, he left people to die over a practical joke. Bullying was nothing compared to it.

[But she's one of the main characters(supporting character) though!]

'God dammit benefits would outweigh the effort... Hopefully. Zeno grumbled inwardly while making his way to Dana.

Zeno just took the rolled papers and headshotted the kids. Poor things never stood a chance.

"What's going on here?!" Hearing the cries of the children, the teacher rushed back with fury.

"Well, they were playing fake snowballs with papers. I might have overdone it." Zeno scratched the back of his head while showing the papers.

Teacher was quick on the uptake, she didn't care if the daughter of the town's alcoholic got bullied but Zeno painted the situation as an innocent game that got heated while handling the bullies.

The other kids might not notice but to an adult she can see, Zeno demonstrated he can bully kids back without consequences.

"Be careful next time." Teacher sighed, she can't punish Zeno without getting the other kids into trouble.

She decided to keep an eye on the blonde menace and went to look at the beaten small bullies.

"Why?" Dana asked after the teacher left.

Dana didn't have many friends and some one other than her brother looking after her was suspicious to her.

Alas, Zeno had already left while she was lost in thought. Dana chuckled after seeing herself left in a similar situation.

[So, what's the plan? Are we going to revolutionize the education system to get rid of bullies or something?] System spoke.

'I will use the school time to sleep and go through my past life's memories while looking after Dana. You on the other hand will be handling my body while I am going through the memories.' Zeno explained the plan.

He had no qualms about lending over his body, his ever silent previous life wouldn't let his body be taken over completely.

[No! Don't do that to me man! Us systems are incorporeal beings, giving us bodies is no different than putting us in a meat cage!

The fanfiction where people give bodies to their systems to sleep with them are stuff of nightmares to us.] Surprisingly the system's response was wild.

'Please, you're just going to control my body during school activities.' Zeno reasoned.

[Do I really have to do it?] System asked with a pitiful voice, Zeno could feel it mentally shivering.

'Consider it as punishment for my official amnesia.' Zeno replied with a vicious tone making the system whimper.

{'These two'} Zeno(Ouryuu) was dumbfounded but remained silent.

Dana soon left the class and went to find her brother. She wanted to tell him about what happened today.

Normally the other kids just point at her while whispering things she doesn't hear, this is the first time anyone hit her.

'Big brother would know what to do.' Dana was sure that her brother would take care of it.

She found her brother at the exit waiting for her but one of his eyes was black. Dana didn't know what happened but it appears her brother too got in a mess.

"Brother what happened?!" She was worried.

Dana was just six years old, even though she somewhat matured compared to her peers she was still a child.

She didn't want to lose the only person that cared about her, and as far as a six year old's thinking goes her brother could die from that black eye.

"It's nothing Dana, just had a bad fall. Come on, let's go home." Dana nodded while ignoring her brother's scary expression.

Alex was bloody furious, their good-for-nothing mother got caught blowing some married dude for money and now the whole neighborhood knows it.

He was cornered by some upperclassmen because of it. He was worried about Dana.

'Thankfully she seems okay.' Alex inwardly sighed in relief.

"They threw paper balls at me today." Dana suddenly said.

'Or not...' The sigh got caught up in his throat.

"Tell me everything." Something in Alex's voice compelled Dana to tell everything without skipping anything.

Dana told her brother how she didn't react to the papers and kept going until the kid they met this morning came to help her.

She also told how she didn't wait for him and he did the same afterwards.

"If something like that happens try to talk with your teacher, not that they would care but if it continues, answer in kind but try not to get in trouble while doing so." Alex kept explaining the finer details of how to counter bullying based on his experiences.

He seemed to forget that his sister was just six until he saw her dazed look, she clearly didn't understand anything after he said 'talk with your teacher'.

"Well, what about Zeno? He seemed like he just moved here." Seeing his sister getting bored Alex changed the topic.

"I don't think so, the teacher didn't treat him like he was new to the neighborhood." Dana furrowed her brows, the scene was too cute for Alex yet they didn't have a camera.

"He didn't say much during the introductions either. He just said his name and went to sleep "

"He went to sleep?" Alex asked to keep the conversation going.

"Yeah, he just slept until the teacher woke him up. He seemed really angry about being woken up."

Dana finished her words just as they arrived at one of the forbidden locations of the neighborhood

This was the home of Horny Granny, Dana didn't know why she was called like that but even her mother warned them about this place.

She said young boys get taken in, never to be seen again. Unfortunately they must take this path to go home.

Dana walks this street every day while praying nothing would happen to her brother.

Alex's face got weird once they got to the house of Horny Granny, he heard the stories when he was small.

He realized the truth once he hit puberty, the sounds he heard while passing here still haunted him.

While both the siblings were hoping to quickly pass this place until they saw Zeno sitting on the roof.

He had ear mufflers on his head, he seemed to watch the clouds with bloodshot haunted eyes.

"Brother, what is Zeno doing there? He'll disappear forever if he doesn't get out." Dana pointed towards Zeno.

Alex on the other hand looked at Zeno's haunted eyes and felt pity for him.

"He won't disappear, that story is to scare kids away from this house. Unfortunately for him he seems to live there." Alex would have taken off his hat in respect if he was wearing one.

'No wonder he slept through the class, poor kid.'

"Dana, don't disturb Zeno if you ever see him sleeping." Alex did the only thing he could for Zeno before moving on.

"Okay!"
