The Lyc-demons

"Huh?" Tezznin creased her brows. Thinking now about it, he sometimes wondered what exactly Eliot and Heracles were. It was certainly for sure that they were nothing close to human. "What are you?" She felt curious to hear what the man had to say.

"Tezznin, that's something I will say, is a bit complicated to answer." Heracles chuckled and stared at the girl in amusement. The girl remained silent with a frown.

"Tezznin you see, we were originally lycans. Born strong and as great men of honor. According to the inscriptions on the tablet from the primordial era, our ancestors were purely born lycans with the moon family being the only family that was blessed with Supreme Alphas. However, along the line, the unusual happened. An Alpha was born from a different family. The moon family by then had an Alpha, a ruler over the clan and so there was a power struggle as to who could reign. The elders suggested that we split and go separate ways with each Alpha to his own colony but the subjects were in opposition of the proposition. And so the elders were forced to declare a duel to death of both Alphas." Heracles explained to the girl whom was now listening intently. He continued.

"On the 44th night after the eleventh week, the fight took place, with the Alpha from the moon family emerging victorious. He went by the name Adramalech. A year after, Adra found his Luna in something that we deemed forbidden. He found his soulmate in a demoness. A demoness of chaos whom was known as the black viper but Adra called her Shayla. The elders by then objected to the union and for the longest time, they thought Adra killed the love he had for her but any reasonable lycan knew all too well how impossible that was."

"Impossible?" Tezznin cut the man off with a look of interest spread over her face. She smiled a nervous one and urged the man to continue.

"Yes impossible. Because when an Alpha finds his Luna, they are bound to be soulmates for life such that both feel each other's emotions and share a link far superior to the kind of union you humans have. It is a feeling. A connection that is so great that if one died the other would be ruined and tormented for as long as he or she lived. They sometimes even commit suicide." Heracles explained with a hint of amusement in his voice.

"That's insane." Tezznin whispered with her brows knotted.

"It is. Anyway, one night, Adra came home with a child to his chest and Shayla to his side. The union we feared most had happened without warning. Leaving the elders no choice but to welcome in their homes a child of a mix breed. A mix breed of both Lycan and demon blood. However as time went on, Adra's relatives began to walk in his steps as some had also found their mates in demons and it eventually transcended unto the people as well. The mystery until date is that only those of royal blood possess the strength and powers of both their demon and lycan side. In our kingdom, our subjects even though some of them are of mix blood, they only possess the powers from one side of their bloodline. That explains why Eliot, his father and I can do the things we do. We prefer to call ourselves the royal-lycan demons or the Lyc demons in short. Heracles explained and walked to the bed and sat down.

.......

"Are you really sure about this Heracles?" Tezznin asked when the man loosened his grip around her waist. He had currently teleported them himself and the girl to the royal lycan-demon kingdom located south of the West lands. A gigantic gate screaming of wealth greeted her as she turned to it. It was shockingly enormous. Her jaws dropped. "OMG." She whispered to herself. Heracles chuckled knowingly to himself at her eyes bubbling with intense captivation.

"Welcome to the Royal kingdom of the moon family. One of the most affluent and influential realm of all the seven kingdoms." The man announced with pride and gestured for her to come along with him. Entering through the gate, more astonishing views greeted her.

"Oh…my…God." Her eyes puffed almost as though screaming to come out of their socket. Everywhere was something magnificent to look at. She thought in intense enthrallment. Her gaze followed the people, as they moved about dealing with their daily affairs in what seemed to be a market square. From the children running across the street, the bakery shop to her right, the fruit and vegetable store, cold store, the bright crystal blue sky to the boutiques in a linear formation to her left. It felt serene. Her gaze wondered off to a group of men gathered before an eatery deeply engrossed in the game of chess with some woman serving drinks from table to tables. The girl's mouth fell open at the realization of something.

"Heracles." She called, still staring at the people.

"Hmm?" The man hummed.

"Is…is…everyone here this…this beautiful?" Her gaze travelled to the man standing beside her. Suddenly Heracles' laughter echoed causing a few heads to turn their way. She frowned. "What's funny?" She failed to see the joke in what she said.

"Trust me Tezz; this is only the first coat of the cake. Wait until you eat further into it. These are only the commoners; the beauties are in the palace itself." The man assured still laughing slightly to himself while he shook his head.

"For real?"

"Mmhm. You'll see." Heracles nodded with a very mischievous grin over his lips. The duo walked through the moving bodies of the busy market. She observed the superb sanitation of the place with a number of colour coded bins at vantage points to the shops, salons, gyms, and super markets along the streets of the vast neighborhood. Then nearing the central part where the castle itself was situated, she scanned the houses beautifully aligned with big gardens adorned with flowers none the likes of what she knew. She felt as though she was walking in an estate from the future. A future where everything was perfect. All the while as they moved, people kept bowing to the man. "Zelloy." They would say and touch their foreheads. She observed them keenly, feeling intrigued by a completely new tradition and a different culture.

"I presume Zelloy means greetings." She said to the man whom only stared ahead and nodded in affirmation. Up ahead, Tezznin could not help but grip Heracles suddenly by the arm.

"Heracles. Is…is… the castle." She whispered in disbelieve. "Suspending in the air." Without warning, she run to it still in puzzlement and cautiously stood under suspending structure to see if it was being held up by anything. "Oh my goodness. There's nothing holding it in place. It really is suspending. Ha." She turned to the man and then back to the guards dressed in black attires with spheres in their left hands, standing as erect as they protectively guarded the area. She could not tell if they even felt tired at all. She frowned. "Zelloy." A chorus greeting came from them suddenly. She flinched as they stood at ease for a few seconds then back to attention again. All the while hitting their spheres against the ground.

Heracles fondly laughed with his head bent low in amusement at the girl's behavior. "Tezznin. That is the most impressive feat done by our leaders back then in all of our history. It was done to keep enemies from reaching the palace easily. It was actually a defense mechanism for us as well. "Heracles explained and pointed up at a very large stone tablet at the entrance of the palace gate. "That tablet carries information you could possibly want about this kingdom."

"But doesn't it mean enemies who manage to infiltrate the palace will get information's to use against you?" Tezznin creased her forehead.

"That is the most intriguing part of their feat. Only the Alphas' or kings blessed with foresight can see through the tablet and access the information on it.

"Wait. Does that mean if a king is not blessed with foresight, he cannot see it?"

"Yes." Silence reigned while the girl slowly tried to process what was just told to her. "That's insane." She whispered with a disbelieving grin.

"Tezznin. Lord Asmodeus must be waiting for us now. Kindly come with me." He said stretching forth his beefy palm to her.

"Are you going to teleport us there?" her voice rang with a hint of disappointment in it.

The man sighed. "Yes, but I suppose you want to know how people get up there don't you?" He asked with a knowing smile.

"Of course. What if I can't materialize myself? I'm human after all." She pouted her lips with arms folded and watched the man walk to a metallic pole a little close to where she stood and tapped a few buttons on it. Not long after, a flying black stallion with gold rings adorning its head and the braids of its shiny silky hair landed with a carriage.

"Wow." Tezznin's eyes bulged. "Don't tell me we're going to ride on that." She turned to the man and to the young man who climbed down the carriage whom she thought was unbelievably beautiful.
