Chapter 2: The history is approaching!

[Director S.O.R.T POV]

"Oaahh!" I yawned; another morning at work. Normally, I wouldn't complain, but this time, it was particularly exhausting to get up. I glanced at my watch, which read half-past four in the morning. I got out of bed and headed for a shower.

After the shower, I began shaving. Looking at my tired and wrinkled face, I realized I was getting old.

Walking to my office, I saw my recruits full of energy. Yes, youth.

Entering my office, I powered up my computer and reclined in my chair, thinking, "Perhaps it's time for me to retire and let someone else take over."

While pondering who might be a suitable candidate, a notification on my computer interrupted my thoughts.

"You have a new message," a robotic voice spoke. Clicking on the message, the robotic voice sounded again.

"Second report from the military facilities. Agent's name: Tom.

So, it was from Tom, one of my agents undercover in the secretive facilities on Isla Ibis.

The screen opened to reveal Tom's face as his voice began the following report: "I have successfully infiltrated under the guise of a researcher, as planned."

"I have not encountered any information regarding top-secret development of new-type weapons, but I have discovered that there is an unexpected individual at this facility."

"The man is Dr. Kirk, the leading authority on our nation's energy research. Dr. Kirk was alleged to have died in an accident during the course of an experiment three years ago."

"The reports were premature, and it appears that he is currently working as the head of a non-weapon project at this facility."

"The experiment is in the late stages of development. Regarding the staged accidental death, it appears that this country is somehow involved."

"I recommend that necessary action be taken immediately."

"So he wasn't dead... I had my suspicions, and I was right; his supposed death had been orchestrated by another country." Hurriedly, I dialed my boss on my phone.

"Director, any reason you're calling me first thing in the morning?" My boss's voice sounded slightly groggy.

"Yes, boss, you see, I've just received a report from Tom, and it contains crucial information." I proceeded to send him the report.

After a few minutes, the boss spoke again, but this time with great seriousness.

"Prepare a team for a recovery mission," he ordered before hanging up... Well, I need to let Gail and her team know to get ready.

[General POV]

The conference room was shrouded in darkness, illuminated only by the faint glow of presentation screens. Several individuals sat in silence around the large rectangular table made of dark oak, each bearing expressions ranging from concern to seriousness.

Seeing that everyone had gathered, the person who identified as the chief decided to speak: "As we all know, the undercover agent we sent to the secretive scientific-military facility located on Isla Ibis has uncovered disturbing information."

One of the people in the room responded with a tinge of concern in their voice: "Have they developed a new weapon that will propel them to economic supremacy?"

In response to their concerns, the chief merely shook their head and spoke with a serious tone "No, the undercover agent discovered that the research being conducted was not focused on the creation of military armaments."

Observing the somber expressions of the others, the chief continued, "Apparently, Dr. Edward Kirk is alive and is currently working on his third energy project, serving as the chief scientist at the facility."

"Impossible!" Another person in the room exclaimed incredulously. "Didn't that bastard die three years ago in that experimental accident?" Everyone else nodded, believing that Dr. Kirk was dead and his third energy data lost.

Seeing that everyone had calmed down, the chief decided to speak again, this time with a voice tinged with seriousness and a hint of irritation.

"That's correct. It appears that this bastard colluded with another country after we shut down his laboratory, faking his death to continue his project on Isla Ibis."

"So, this meeting is to inform you that we will take action and send our special forces to retrieve the third energy data. Any objections?"

Everyone shook their heads, all being in agreement with their chief. It's not as if they were brave enough to contradict their leader.

"Very well. I'll send the report to the director of the special forces for immediate action. You may leave." Upon hearing their chief, everyone stood up and departed, bidding their farewells.

[Regina POV]

My mornings usually began with the piercing sound of the alarm clock, jolting me from my slumber.

In an instant, I was wide awake, with all my senses alert and ready for the day's challenges.

Reaching for the alarm clock, I pressed the snooze button, taking a few moments to observe. The room was dimly lit, and the digital numbers on the clock read Five o'clock in the morning.

It was early, but for me, early mornings were routine.

I knew that in my line of work, one had to be prepared for the unexpected at all times.

I got out of bed and quickly dressed in my standard-issue tactical gear, a uniform that had become a second skin to me over the years.

As I laced up my combat boots, i wondered "¿will there be anything exciting today?"

Leaving my austere quarters, I headed to the facility's cafeteria for a quick breakfast.

The sound of my boots echoed through the empty corridor. I was usually one of the first to arrive, a habit I had developed to enjoy a few moments of peace before the chaos of the day.

Sitting at a small table, I savored a simple meal of scrambled eggs and toast.

As I finished my breakfast, my communicator beeped, breaking the silence I was enjoying. "They couldn't have picked a better time," I said to myself with a playful tone in my voice.

Checking the message, my expression went from a playful smile to a serious one. It was time to gather with my team.

Who would have imagined that my day was about to become one of the most dangerous and, at the same time, one of the most intriguing? An anecdote I would share in the future.

....

[Meanwhile, our protagonist]

"Damn it, just die, you cursed smallfoot!" I fired two shots right into the head of the damn velociraptor that entered the lobby, letting out a sigh of relief as I managed to kill it.

"Oh, hell!" Fortunately, I'm starting to regain the memories of my self from this world...

I can only say that the bastard created something that can help me, so with my goal in mind, I head to the weapons testing room...

"I need to be careful, I only have 13 bullets left." Alright, time to move...

Beep!

"What's that sound?" Turning around, I see that the door with a special lock is beginning to open...
