White Knight

( Ran's POV)

Up untill now, a lot of things changed....the heroines changed their behaviour towards me.....the main character actually started using his head instead of his hands...but none of them were pleasent surprises....well

except for one...

"you need help?"

after I was told by the forth heroine, that someone stole the auction goods.... I tried to find them everywhere....thanks to her thinking ahead of time, she installed tracking devices on the items....soon I found the guys who had robbed the items, I fought then head on.....bad move, they almost overwhelmed me.

I would've died if not for another vigilante like me... I tried asking his name..

"I think we'll have enough time for introductions...but first... let's finish these guys off.."

soon, we both took care of the whole gang..

after that, I introduced myself as White Knight...and he said his name was Grey Knight.

"wow... you're sense of naming is..... pretty unique.."

I would be lying if I say I never heard of him..

I heard about this a lot of times from Jia Li, about how a hero named Grey Knight saved us when we got abducted.

he asked me if I wanted to work with ....but I didn't gave him my reply and just told him I'll think about it.

after that day, at first I didn't wanted to get involved with others.....but, before I knew it, we both started fighting against crime at nights.... I don't know why but I felt some sort of brotherhood with him....soon I found out that he's looking for a man named Tai Long.

"so.... who's this Tai Long you're looking for??"

and his reply....

"he's a giga Chad."

and now here I am, waiting for him at the same place where we had our conversation when we first met.

this place has become our meeting spot....but today he's unusually late.

"is he not coming today?"

as I was waiting for him, I noticed two shadows behind me...

I thought he finally found the man he was looking for and that's why he came late.....but when I turned around, the ones who came weren't them.....

<host!! be careful!! I can feel a really strong blood lust from them!!>

"w....who...are you-??"

before I could finish my sentence, the fat one moved forward and try to stomp on me but I dodged, as I was in the air, the other one immediately got behind my back and attacked, but I dodged it as well....to be fair I wouldn't be able to dodge that attack but...before he attacked me, he shouted from where he was about to attack.

"argh!!"

after his attack failed, I kicked him on his face and got ready for a punch but before I could connect my punch, the fat one grabbed my hand, and the one who got kicked by me kicked me the same way I did...but his kick was surprisingly weak..... still because of it I lost my balance and fell on the roof floor.

"that's how you do it!"

at this moment I realised..... I'm fucked..

(Xin's POV)

as I came out after dressing up in the same outfit as yun Jun did, we both went to hunt Ran.

"you know Xin, at first reaper was going to be my partner to ....catch this bastard....but after you came, I said that this is a good way to prove your loyalty, that's why I asked for change in partner .....and the HQ gave the permission.."

<host.... you're not actually thinking of hunting down Ran, right?>

'no....but if Tai Long didn't show up, things might get out of hands..."

"Xin!! look there he is!!"

as Yun said that, I looked at the same spot where I always meet Ran.

"..... let's attack him.."

"as you say Xin!!"

and with that, we both stood behind him.

when he noticed us, he was shocked...

"I'll take him out!!"

Yun Jun said as he jumped on Ran and tried to stomp him with his feet.

of course, he dodged it, as he was mid air, I got behind him..

'please notice this Ran!!'

"try dodging this!!"

and he dodged it and even kicked me on my face.....

"argh!!"

...but before he could connect a punch, Yun Jun grabbed his hand.

'shit....'

I didn't want to get any suspicion on me so I kicked him while lowering my strength a little.

with that kick, he fall on rooftop floor..

<host, you do realise that it will all be meaningless if Ran dies now!!>

I remember how system told me that if Jiang Ran dies, I won't be able to complete the novel, hence I'll have to keep him alive while also staying alive.....

soon Yun Jun came near me and whispered in my ear,

"yes!! me finally did it!! go team!!"

"we shouldn't be celebrating this soon, I'll have some things I need to discuss with him...."

'I need to waste as much time as possible, acting like a cliche villain, waiting for the main character to power up...which is quite ironic in this situation....'

" why are you doing this you fucking Clown?"

I said in a deep voice expression..

"eh....why are you speaking like that?"

and as I imagined, Yun Jun as asked me my reason for speaking in a deep voice... I looked back and said..

"shhh.... I'm trying to intimidate him here.."

"oh oh I see..."

then I put my focus on Ran and asked again but this time he tried to sneak a punch....

I knew Yun Jun will try to cover for me so I gestured him to stop while easily evading Ran's attack.

he then tried several combos but I dodged all of them without missing a beat..

"it's all useless.."

I said as I punched his stomach with as less power as possible..and he almost lost balance before he tried to use a spinning kick.

"I told you, it's useless!!"

I easily dodged his spinning kick, then grabbed his hand and pinned him down on the ground...

after some time, when Tai Long was still no where to be found, I had to use my last resort..

"you know why I'm doing this?"

I said in a deep voice.

".....eh ...why?.."

I took a really deep breath and....

"(blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah)"

used a cliche third rate villain speech, to pass time...

"(blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah)"

I could hear, Yun Jun calling me from behind..

"uhm.....bro.... Xin.....we should really stop this and take him to the head quarters..."

but I ignored him....

"(blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah)"

at this point I could notice Ran's face who was almost bored with this speech.....sorry but you have to endure this .....this is for your own good...

and just when my speech was about to end..

"that's quite a nice speech you got, boy.."

finally I heard the same husky and deep voice that I was waiting to hear...

"but, I'm afraid you have to stop now."

in front of me was a middle-aged man, who is over 6feet and had muscles but what stood out of him the most was his godlike jawline....

yes after all this time he finally arrived....

"Yun Jun..... let's get out of here...."

Tai Long has finally arrived in a not so epic way.....but whatever..... I'm glad that he atleast showed up....

"I'll handle boss!! so just go!!"

.. and with that both of us bolt out of there.

few moments later....

just as we entered the head quarters, reaper grabbed my neck and pushed me to the wall..

'just what the hell is wrong with this guy!!'

"why did you failed to capture the target!!"

and then he looked at Yun Jun...

"and I thought I made it clear that I'm you're partner for this mission!!"

hearing that, I also looked at Yun Jun, who didn't look me in the eyes.

'fuck!! did he lied about taking permission from the HQ!!'

but before things get more chaotic, I grabbed reaper's hand and with enough force, pull myself out of his grip.

even reaper was surprised...

then I looked at him in his eyes..

" if he didn't wanted to go with you, there must be a reason..and well looking at what just happened now, I can clearly see it!!"

'I did lost to reaper before but I'm no longer that weakling....the only reason I lost back then was because I was weak....but now I am strong... I'M STRONGER THEN HIM...I CAN EASILY WIN AGAINST HIM!!! I CAN KILL HIM!!

I WILL KILL HIM!!! I'LL GUT HIM DOWN AND FEED HIM TO PIGS!!!'

<host!! you're losing control!!>

I started to feel my body hot and my mind full of murder!!! with the hell is going on!!

but before this continued, the same women who called me traitor earlier calm the situation down....

then before I realised, I was finally back to my senses...but that was until reaper punched me on my face.....making me unconscious...

before losing consciousness, I heard something that reaper said....

"what a monster....."

it was only for a brief moment but I felt fear in his eyes....

After some time I was now inside the same room and infront of me was boss Chow on the screen..

"now then Xin, how come you not only didn't finish the job....but ran right here .....there has to be a good explanation for this....right?"

while saying this his face became scarier then an orc....

'well don't worry, I have a good explanation..'

"Tai Long...."

his expression changed...

"what....?"

"Meng Tai Long was there, so we ran away.....did we do wrong master Chow.."

Chow was a evil villain, he was ruthless, cruel, selfish...but whatever he was .... hypocrite wasn't on the list....

"no.....no did well.... you're dismissed..."

"uh....master?"

"....yes?"

"can I go back to my apartment now.... I need to act in order to get close to the Su family...."

"ah....right, go..."

haha he's still shocked after hearing that name.....well in the original novel, he had a fight with Tai Long, that is after his daughter burnt in the ashes.....and that's when Tai Long showed Chow what true fear is... he's literally traumatized.... whatever, I should probably get out of here....

and with that finally this chaotic night came to an end.....and tomorrow is my paid holiday so after a long time..... I can finally relax.....

.... I should just stop having these delusional thoughts now.....

in the morning, someone rang my doorbell...and when I checked who it is, it was none other than..... Yun Jun....guess I haven't earned their trust yet.....

I thought I would die, but apparently, one of those two guys was quite dramatic...and this gave enough time for my saviour to appear..

when I asked his name, he told me his name was Meng Tai Long, apparently he was the same guy Grey was looking for.

"you alright boy.?"

"....ah...yeah..."

"what was he saying to you, was he revealing his plan?"

I decided to just straight up tell him..

"oh no he said something like(blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah)"

"okay stop please!!"

I don't know why but now this whole thing is stuck in my head... I need help.
