Separation

While they were on their way to farm in the forest road, Wolfe suddenly noticed a military jeep following them with six soldiers looking at them. Wolfe tapped the vehicle telling Otis to stop the truck. Otis stopped the truck in a side and he jumped out of the truck. The other vehicle also stopped on the side, and everyone came out with arms.

"Hello, do you need anything?", Wolfe asked them. One soldier in the middle looked at a device and looked at his comrades and then looked at Wolfe.

"So, he's the one?", a female soldier asked to which the soldier nodded. 

The soldier came forward while everyone relaxed their weapons, and with a salute said, "Captain Wolfe, I am Captain John Marsh. We have orders to escort you to the base this instant". Other followed the salute.

"What?", Wolfe who thought they were the soldiers who saw them leaving the hospital was confused and said further, "I don't understand. Captain? me?".

They looked at each other and murmured among themselves. "It seems like you lost your memory due to the accident. We've been tracking you since then and followed you here. We have orders to bring you with us to the base". 

"I will go with you guys but first I have to go back. I have promised to bring them safely. You can come too if you want. I won't run away". Wolfe said.

"Okay sir. Corporal Swift will accompany you on the truck while we'll follow you on our jeep", Marsh said with a giant man walking towards them.

"Alright", Wolfe said as he started turning back and told others to leave.

Just as he was about to climb the truck, he felt something coming swiftly at him. He quickly moved sideways and found that the man who was behind him had attacked with the handle of his gun. Luckily, he just dodged it, or he would have been knocked unconscious.

"What's the meaning of this?", Wolfe asked looking at Marsh.

"Sorry sir. But as I said, orders are to bring you immediately", said Marsh with a cold look as the man, Swift, lunged at him once more.

Wolfe could see the man coming at him. He avoided the jab and landed his fist in his ribs making him to stagger back a bit before stepping forward and jabbing his face. In an instant the huge man got humbled. Wolfe quickly picked the gun from Swift's hip and put it in his head making everyone alert and picking up their own weapons at him.

"And I said I will come with you after I drop them back to farm safely", Wolfe said coldly.

Silence ensued and the people who had sat down in the trucks were also astonished watching the fight among them. "That's not possible sir. Hand me the gun and please follow us. We don't want any casualty here", Marsh said.

Wolfe came to his senses and thought what would happen if they used their weapons. It would put others in jeopardy. Wolfe waited a bit before calming down and dropping the gun, releasing the twisted hand of Swift. He gave him back his gun and slowly moved towards Otis and Beth.

"Guys, it seems this is where we must part ways. I think you'd be able to reach the farm safely from here without me. Beth, thank your father and brother for me. I wish your brother heals soon". Otis nodded while Beth was struggling to calm her mind. Wolfe started going back to the soldiers when Beth called him from behind.

"Wolfe", she called as Wolfe looked back and said, "take care. Be safe out there", Beth said.

"You too", Wolfe said with a smile, which he hadn't done in so long. They saw the soldiers getting in the jeep with Wolfe in the middle and leaving their sight. Soon after, they also left on the truck.

"So, tell me what do you guys want from me? I know I am not in the army. I was in a lab when I woke up last time", Wolfe said while they were driving away in the opposite direction from earlier.

"We were not told much about you, sir. Just your name, designation and picture and orders to bring you back on the orders of the commanding officer. We would take you to base where you will be escorted to your actual destination after that", Marsh said.

"To another lab, you mean?", Wolfe asked.

 "We don't know anything about that sir". Marsh said.

"Alright, then do you know anything about this pandemic?", Wolfe asked.

"It's classified". Marsh replied.

"It means you do know something". Wolfe concluded. He looked around and saw they were in the city again. Suddenly the jeep stopped, and they saw cars blocking their path.

"Swift, Dillon and Keel, let's go clear the way", Marsh said and took four out of six soldiers with him.

Only ones left were the driver and other watching Wolfe. As they were clearing the path, the soldier watching Wolfe suddenly got distracted with the static sound coming from the radio. Grabbing the moment, Wolfe lynched at the soldier attacking him and making him unable to react. He broke the tracker device, took his gun and K2 Assault rifle, jumped out the jeep and ran towards an alley. The driver brought out his gun and shot at the Wolfe barely missing him. But Marsh suddenly ordered to not shoot.

"Damn it, don't shoot him. He's an asset we need alive. Let's go. You two, stay here with the vehicle", Marsh commanded and ran after Wolfe.

Wolfe after running in the alley saw the 4-meter-tall fence in blocking the way. He kept running sideways, placed a foot on the wall to gain height and momentum, and then pushed off to leap over the fence. Looking back, he saw Marsh and others dumbfounded at his stunt. Wolfe mocked them by showing a smile before running away and disappearing. Marsh ordered his men to go other direction while he and the female soldier used his comrades to leap over the fence followed Wolfe.

Just as they took a turn, Marsh got caught by a walker who immediately bit Marsh. "Goddammit, noooo... Aargh...", Marsh screamed in pain. The other soldier was also surprised to see his senior getting bit by a walker. She quickly pulled out her gun and shot the infected in his head.

"Sir, are you alright?", She asked while noticing other infected coming towards them.

"I... I got bit. Damn that man. I'll kill him. Lane, help me up dammit.", Marsh said while he stood up in the support of the woman.

They started going another way looking for a place to hide from the infected while deciding what to do next.

Just as they were moving, someone called them and told them to come to his shop. Thinking that it was a good option, and the shopkeeper would be able to help Marsh with the injury, they entered the shop. Just as they entered, soldier named Price got knocked unconscious when something hit her head. Before losing her consciousness, she saw Wolfe looking at her while beating Marsh to the pulp.
