Chapter 2: Bloody affairs and a dirty job.

" Today's been boring, no drunk horny men to throw winks at us." Susie said, irritated as she wiped the bar table.

" The day is still young and I see some males are headed here." Her colleague responded as she licked her lips.

" They are just boys." Susie said dismissively before plastering a fake smile on her face before the boys got to the bar table.

" Give us two jugs of beer." Kora said as he sat on a bar stool with Samuel, surprise flashed in Susie's eyes after hearing Kora's voice, his deep, raspy voice made her imagine him driving himself into her but he's just a boy, right?

Samuel noticed the look of raw lust on Susie's face and he was surprised but before we could say anything to Kora, a chill went up his spine when he noticed someone looking at him. He quickly turned his neck to see who was looking at him and he saw a beautiful woman with brown eyes, standing behind Susie with a napkin in one hand and a jug in another staring at him as a creepy smile crawled up her lips. Samuel gulped slowly as he held her gaze but Kora tapped him quickly, informing about the beer sitting in front of him.

" You are staring at the bartender, huh?" Kora said with a smile.

" No, I caught her staring." Samuel added as he sipped his beer and he couldn't help but frown a bit, the beer is stronger than the ones he took on Earth.

" Maybe she wants you for dinner." Kora whispered.

" I am just a boy." Samuel quickly responded. On Earth, he spent most of his time reading a lot of books, watching a lot of TV shows, movies and coloring bad caricature drawings he made. He wasn't a social person so he had a few friends that shared his interests and in the twenty two years he spent on Earth, he had never been in a sexual relationship with any lady. Having a relationship with a lady is an exaggeration, he is yet to have his first kiss at the age of twenty two.

" Your words confirm that you have really lost your memories." Kora said before slapping Samuel's head that he dodged at the last second.

" Kora, how old am I?" Samuel asked, hoping Kora knew the answer.

" You are seventeen, we are both seventeen." Kora responded.

" Oh…" Samuel mouthed, enlightened before taking a long gulp from his beer and they finished their drinks in a few minutes.

" So you have plans for the night?" Susie asked Kora as she plastered an inviting smile on her face as she rested on the bar table.

" Yes, I do." Kora said slowly as his trademark wicked smirk appeared on his lips.

" Too bad." Susie said,

disappointed.

" But the plans could change, depending on what intends to change it." Kora said.

" You meant, who?" Susie asked.

" Why wait till night, you could change my plans now." Kora said and Susie smiled before heading to the storeroom.

" Give me some time." Kora said and he followed Susie into the storeroom before locking the door behind them and Samuel raised his eyebrows in surprise.

" What's your name?" The other bartender asked Samuel.

" You should introduce yourself first." Samuel responded.

" Okay, I am Tiana and you are?"

" Dan." Samuel said and he noted her name, he felt that they would be meeting again but they would be exchanging blows when they meet again, not names.

" Why are you here?" Tiana asked Samuel.

" For a job."

" You don't mind if I ask what kind of Job?" Tiana added.

" I can't tell you the details." Samuel said and he felt someone tap his shoulder.

" Let's go." Kora said and he turned to leave the bar.

" See you later Tiana." Samuel said and he left the bar with Kora.

They walked slowly towards a street that had a muddy floor and poorly built houses on the two sides of the street and different people going about their business on the street.

" Some people are following us." Samuel noticed some dangerous looking men following them and these men didn't bother hiding the fact they were following them.

" I know, they work for our old friend that we are going to visit." Kora said to Samuel before entering a huge house that the entrance was guarded by two men.

Samuel noticed different men in the house doing different things like polishing weapons, smoking hard drugs and they were both led to a room where the boss stayed.

" You boys are finally back." A slim man that looked too soft said as he threw a smile at the boys.

" Yeah Iver." Kora responded.

" Finally decided to work for me?" Iver said as he toyed with a slender silver knife on the table.

" Yes, we need money." Kora said before Iver threw a long look at Samuel that made Samuel shiver slightly in his boots.

" Something wrong with you Dan?" Iver asked.

" No." Samuel responded and Iver raised his eyebrows dismissively.

" Join the men downstairs and stock up, I will come over there to give you your mission." Iver instructed and they both went downstairs.

Samuel noticed the weird looks the men downstairs were giving them and the distance that existed between the both of them and the other men.

" You know you are yet to tell me about this job." Samuel said as he grabbed a long knife from the weapon rack before twirling the knife with his fingers.

" I see you are still a fan of knives." Kora said, ignoring Samuel's earlier words.

" Tell me about this job." Samuel repeated but Kora ignored him again, Samuel moved swiftly at Kora before grabbing his collar then he threw him against the weapon rack.

" I am sure you heard me." Samuel said calmly as he watched Kora stand up.

" That's very unnecessary." Kora said as he stood up before walking towards Samuel.

" This is a mercenary guild and this mercenary guild is headed by a fire mage you met earlier and we were employed by this guild to do a mission we will get to know soon." Kora said.

" Okay boys, round up." Iver said and all the mercenaries listened attentively as he alloted missions.

" Kora and Dan. I want both of you to do what you do best. I want you to sneak into a house tonight and steal an item. More details will be given to you." Iver said and he headed back to his office.

Minutes later, they both left the guild and headed to the house they were assigned to rob. The house belongs to one of the most influential law makers in the city and the person would be involved in making a law the next morning and that law will affect the activities of mercenaries guilds. So Dan and Kora are tasked with stealing an important mirror in the lawmaker house and the theft will draw him out of his house tonight where he will be killed by other mercenaries in the same guild.

" Should we break in or sneak in?" Kora asked.

" Definitely sneak in if we can but that depends on the security at the house." Samuel responded.

" I think some people are following us." Samuel said as moved his hand to where he put a knife.

" Really? I can't notice anyone following us." Kora said and he turned to see those behind him before noticing a knife whirling at his left eye at top speed but before the knife could lodge into his skull, Samuel knocked the blade to the ground with his knife.

" Six attackers heading towards us." Samuel said and he reached for another knife in his clothes.

" Plus two nocking arrows on the roof of the house over there." Kora said as he removed a sword from its sheath.

" I will take those on the roof, deal with these ones on the ground." Samuel said and he quickly headed to the assassins on the roof.

" Guess it's now playtime." Kora said and he rushed towards his enemies.
