Breakthrough Part 2

In a white space, A young man was sitting down in a meditative pose. Michael was still trying to solidify his consciousness. He could not tell how long he had been here for; He knew that he was still alive since his mind had not collapsed yet. However, he could die at any moment.

Under the severe pressure, Michael worked overtime to follow the instructions from the system and pass the trial. He reflected on all his past memories and tried to define himself.

" I am merely an observer of the Universe. The environment around me and the conditions of birth defines me, Is that correct system?" Michael asked hoping for a response.

[ Why must the observer be separate from the Universe?]

" Because I am just a tiny drop compared to the vast ocean that is the universe." Michael reasoned.

[ What is an ocean but a multitude of drops?]

Michael felt enlightened upon hearing the answer. Slowly a diamond-like object started forming in his mind. This was the core of his mind; It was his consciousness.

When Michael looked inside the core, he saw all his memories and feelings and observations. After a while, the core was fully formed and looked indestructible. Of course, It merely existed in his mind.

The white space dimmed, as Michael opened his eyes again he realized that he could feel sensations from his body. He was back in control of his body and inside the garden in his backyard.

'Thank you, Is this really the end? Is there no more stages?" Michael asked.

[ There is always a sky full of opportunities in the vast universe.]

Michael looked up to the sky and noticed the endless space filled with innumerable stars. He welcomed the thought of going on a journey and exploring the universe. But that would be done later. For now, he was still grounded on Earth.

Michael checked his stats to see if there were any changes.

All of the stats only had a slight increase with the intelligence stat having the highest jump. Michael figured that it would take a long time to increase his stat from now on. He figured he should probably buy the new training materials first before doing anything else.

Recovery fluid (100,000 credits): The advanced recovery fluid needs to be replaced after each use in the recovery tub.

The training chamber was deposited in his inventory. Michael was excited after reading the details; he was getting his own gravity room! He had always wanted to do training under different gravities to simulate a more thorough workout. However, he never possessed the technology to do it.

The Power core and the recovery fluid almost seemed like a scam; the price seemed low but if he had to frequently buy them then the costs would add over time. The pricing reminded him of printer company scams; they always sold the printers cheap and overcharged the ink cartridges. However, Michael knew that the system was not greedy, so he did not complain much.

Fortunately, the whole training chamber came as one isolated giant room, so it was easy to absorb into his inventory. He planned on never placing it in a permanent location and only putting it out when he needs to use it. He was confident in the security of his home but there was no need to take unnecessary risks.

Michael then turned his attention to the genetic potion and the training manual. First, he drank the genetic potion in order to unlock the potential of his body. He woke up feeling refreshed after a two-hour nap. By unlocking the potential of his body he could continue to train without having to worry about roadblocks.

The training Manual was different this time. It included a section to train the mind and offered thought experiments. There were also suggestions on how to best utilize the gravity room. Most of it was common sense, like to gradually increase the gravity; however, there were tips on how to properly use the recovery tub.

Maybe Michael was a training addict, but he immediately deployed the chamber in his garage and entered the room. He set the gravity to five times normal and started to perform the exercises from the manual.

Training in the gravity chamber was a completely different experience. The whole body was placed under the stress from gravity; therefore, it was a more thorough workout. Even if he just focused on his arm, his whole body would still be under tension. Now he understood why the recovery tub was necessary.

He spent two hours training and after that he soaked in the recovery tub. The recovery tub was almost like a jacuzzi. The fluid had a medicinal smell that reminded him of herbs. For every two hours of training, the manual recommended spending at least 30 minutes in the recovery tub.

After he finished the training and the bath he was exhausted. The recovery tub only healed his body, it would not give him energy. Michael ended up taking another nap for an hour.

After he woke up, Michael finally remembered that he did not check the new skills and functions of the store yet. He was expecting big changes since the system kept talking about the supreme tier.
