Mass destruction

Ray woke up around 8 am. When he went downstairs he saw all his relatives and friends who woke up way before them.

They were sitting in the living room with a grim look on their face.

Men were at least could mask their fear but some women were softly weeping. Despair, anxiety, fear.. all those negative feelings were written on their face!

Ray could understand some of it but he still asked, "What happened?"

"Police came half an hour ago to check things. Z City and its surrounding cities were destroyed yesterday by that meteor. The criminal investigation department still can't make sure what it was! The meteor was ruptured from the middle! Moreover, the adjacent cities to it were massacred brutally with no soul left. More than 15 million people were murdered! They found numerous big spiders yesterday and they have no records in the data of the government. " replied Ray's dad grimly as he showed them pictures of large spiders too.

They were taken by brave photographers who went with the police for investigation.

Ray took the photographs and silently asked the system, "What are these creatures? They look more powerful than mutated demons I encountered."

*Zergs! They are the lowest level zergs. They are outer galaxy beings who believe in destruction and massacre. The meteorite before was a protective shell to bring the mother to zerg to Earth.* replied system.

"Zergs? They look like mutated insects!"

*Yeah you can assume them as mutated insects. But they devour to mutate. They can devour machines into living beings and gain their extraordinary characteristics and assimilate them into the newborn zergs. Moreover, they have a very high reproductive ability!* explained the system.

It continued saying, *Each of them listens to the queen who is the leader of every zerg tribe! The lower zergs massacre and give the energy of living beings to the mother zerg for it to evolve and reproduce more!! What you are seeing is the spider zerg tribe! They have razor-sharp fangs and claws and every one of them is highly poisonous. Moreover, they have 8 hearts. So to kill them the only way is to behead them in one strike or destroy their head!*

Ray was astonished and then turned grim too.

"This is problematic now!" said Ray mentally.

*You should quickly level up. The more zergs kill, the more powerful they become. The blood and life force of every living being is the source of strength! This is also the reason why every race hates the zergs but they can't eliminate them! The only way to eliminate them is to kill the mother zerg but it is highly intelligent and protected by other zergs. So you should level up to kill them quickly or else there will be an endless stream of disaster in future!* warned the system coldly.

Ray nodded as he handed the photographs to his father.

"Maybe I can kill them to level up," thought Ray.

*Don't even think of it right now. Be at least level 4 to face them. They are not like those mutated demon beasts whom you encountered. They inherit part of their memories from their mother, so they have brutality and bloodlust in their blood! Every living creature is its enemy. They are like genetically coded killings machines with data input that you humans made for the war! You will die if face them at present. You still haven't adapted to killing techniques!* replied the system coldly as it poured cold water on his thoughts.

Ray clenched his fists. In short, he was still so weak!!

As Ray and others were discussing things, his Uncle came back from the military base. He looked at them and shook his head as he took off his cap!

"All communication systems are disrupted thoroughly! Satellites are not working! We can't contact other bases. The carrier eagles somehow became genetically mutated and uncontrollable too. They were killed and are being tested in labs. Officers and soldiers went to other cities via military jeep. Some of the survivors came back and reported things. The situation is not good at all! " replied Lucas's dad as he sighed.

"You guys probably have heard about Z city and its adjacent cities of B state. The whole state is devasted right now! 80% population is massacred by some mutated spider species. Blood is flowing like a river and corpses are piling up like mountains! The Military already sent people but they died pathetically too!" he replied as fear flashed past his eyes.

"Humanity is doomed! " he said as he bitterly laughed.

The rest of the people became pale with fear!

Ray's mother and Leo's family wept the most.

The others consoled them but it was of no use.

Ray's mother's maternal family and Leo's father's family was situated in the B state! They can be considered to be dead by now since the calamity struck!

Ray hugged his mother as she cried.

Ray and Leo looked at each other and saw the sadness in each other's eyes. They wanted to cry too but they held back in.

It was only after lunch that Ray told his relatives about spiritual root and cultivation. He patiently told them the cultivation levels and also told them that he found it by chance previously but didn't believe them since the world was normal before.

Now that the calamity struck, he gained an exceptionally strong body that he believed these things.

The relatives were suspicious but they were shrewd enough to not ask about the secrets. After all, they were now in the same camp and Ray was their son's best friend too. They believed in their judgement that Ray would never backstab his friends who were sworn brothers to him!

They were confused about how to cultivate and activate their potential when Ray assured them that he would soon give them a cultivation technique to help them cultivate with demon beast cores.
