Ray search the surrounding area to see if there are any mutated beasts or not. Finding nothing, he rushed to his house to inform his friends and relatives.

"Where the fuck were you?' screamed Leo comically.

"Do you even know that we were going mad for you?" yelled Ray's father as he ruthlessly kicked him.

"arh....umm.." Ray was in an awkward situation. He looked at the relatives surrounding him and felt warmth in his heart.

"I was attacked by a mutated beast....." Ray recalled the whole story and they were shocked to hear them.

"Actually the beast meat can strengthen the body. I have carried some meat.. Let's eat it. I will go kill some more .." explained Ray seriously.

"No, you are not going anywhere.." replied Ray's mom panicking as she grabbed Ray's hand forcefully.

"Mom! Times has changed. Let my friends go and hunt. Killing and absorbing their demon core makes you strong. No one will provide you demon core if you don't kill. I have a hunch that this is a calamity. Worse is yet to come. So listen to me, we can't lag behind. " said Ray seriously.

Others were silent but the mothers were reluctant to let their son go to face the unknown. After repeated persuasions, they grudgingly let them go...

They cooked the mutated cat's meat and had a hearty meal in the middle of the night. The meat tasted far better than those of cattle meat. They could feel their body strengthening bit by bit. After having three servings, Ray finally heard notifications...

Ray raised his brow.

"System why didn't I get multiple body attribute points?"

*Attribute points are random. You may or may not get any points from eating demon beasts. You can eat the whole body of demons to get more body attribute points. Anyway with levelling up, your body capacity to digest and consume will increase, so it won't be a problem!* replied the system coldly.

"Ok, next time let's eat smaller demon beasts for now. " thought Ray as he ate quietly.

After eating, Ray along with Nathan, Kai, Leo, Lucas gathered their cold weapons and firearms and ventured for the hunt.

After they made some distance from their house, Ray turned serious and told them about the apocalypse and spiritual roots. Since they don't know when the spiritual roots will be awakened, Ray simply told them to absorb the demon core, for now, to awaken it and wield an element.

All of them understood the gravity of the matter and listened to Ray's arrangements. Even though Ray was the youngest of all of them, they didn't ask Ray the source of information. They knew that every person had their own secrets and Ray was their most trusted buddy! They could believe Ray wholeheartedly.

This time Ray went to another complex where some owners kept pets. He believed that those pets might have mutated too.

As soon as they reached the complex, they felt a bloody stench in the air. They clenched their weapons and walked forward nervously. Lucas was being the scout. He quickly went through the stairs and glanced around to see the surrounding, only then he signalled others to climb upstairs.

He followed the bloody stench more intense on the 2nd floor of the building. At last, he stopped at the door of a particular house. Lucas nodded at others and kicked open the door ruthlessly and moved away.

What they saw was so nauseating and disturbing that it made them want to vomit what they ate before!

A ferocious dog was ruthlessly ripping off the intestine of a man who lay dead on the floor. There were also more than six people dead... Some had their hands or legs torn off, while others had their head removed from their body.

The dog which was ravishing on the guts of the dead man apparently noticed Ray and his company and flashed a bloodthirsty grin towards them. It was an American Pit Bull Terrier but after mutation, it was thrice of its size with sharp claws and teeth. These types of dogs were ferocious kind and after mutation, they had lost their rationality. All that remained in its mind was to kill any living beings!!

The mutated dog growled ferociously at them as it rushed towards Lucas with its bloody mouth open to devour him. Lucas quickly moved backwards and rushed outside the house while Ray shifted and slashed his sword horizontally towards its neck.

*Clang*

Roarr..

The sword hit its neck and the dog bled profusely but it quickly got up and waved its claws at Ray. Ray met the sword with his sword but the force of the claw was so great that he clashed backwards and hit the wall. Ray coughed up a mouthful of blood and he tried to get his feet shakily.

The beast roared with intense killing intent and rushed towards Ray with mouth wide opened and was on the verge of tearing apart Ray's neck when Nathan acted and slashed at the beast's back furiously...

"Vile beast.. die!" roared Nathan.

The blade hit the beasts' back and tore its back and pierced through its organs.

"Grrrrrrrrr....."

The beasts howled madly as it madly thrashed at Ray and his company. They glanced at each other and understood that the beast had gone mad due to severe injury. Kai and Leo kept a distance and kept firing bullets. While Lucas held his blade and gun and monitored if there was any sudden attack outside.

After repeated firing and slashing with blades, Ray finally managed to cut its head from its body, ending its life!

"So it's level 2. No wonder it was so tenacious!!" thought Ray.

Ray finally heaved a sigh of relief. He glanced around and looked at the dead bodies. The dog killed its owner's whole family. How cruel!

"That was cool! I never felt good after fighting! " exclaimed Leo excitedly.

The others looked at him wierdly. Here they were having a life-death battle and now this young master was feeling smug!

Ray shook his head and smiled. That was the same old lively Leo! He walked towards the demon corpse and touched it.

The body disappeared in the shock of others but they didn't ask Ray about it.

Ray nodded at them. " I stored it. Let's move from here. The battle will attract more beasts. "

Others nodded and went outside the room. But as soon as they went to the 1st floor, a black sneaky shadow rushed towards Leo when he was caught unprepared...
