Asylum

In the interior motel room Sarah was in the bathroom getting dressed whilst she was doing that sam was on the phone and he said "No, Dad was in california last we heard from him, we just thought...he comes to you for 'munitions...maybe you've seen him in the last few weeks. Just, call us if you hear anything." The voice on the other side of the line said " 'kay." Sam said "Thanks." The person on the phone said "You bet." After he hung up Dean looked over at him and said "Caleb hasn't heard from him?" Sam sits down on the bed and says "Nope and neither has Jefferson or Pastor Jim. What about the Journal? Anything leads in there?" Dean said "No, same as last i looked, nothing I can make out...I love the guy, but I swear he writes like friggin' Yoda." Sam then suggested "You know maybe we should call the feds, fill a missing person's report." Dean isn't impressed with what sam has just said and he says back "We've talked about this, Dad'd be pissed if we put the feds on him.

Sarah came out of the bathroom, before dean says anything else he's phone rings and he goes through the bag trying to find it and sam says to him whilst he's doing that "After all that happened back in Kansas, I mean...he should've been there, Dean. You said so yourself. You tried to call him and...nothing." Dean said whilst looking for the phone "I know! Where the hell is my cellphone?" Sam then says "You know, he could be dead for all we know." Dean said to sam "Don't say that! He's not dead! He's -- He's--." Sam asked dean "He's what? He's hiding? He's busy?" Dean finally finds the cellphone and flicks it open to reveal a text message which says "From Unavailable Subject: 42,-89." Dean then said "Huh, I don't believe it." Sam and Sarah was both confused until sarah said "What?" Dean looked at them and said "It's uh...it's a text message. It's coordinates."

Dean sits at the table and types on the laptop and Sam asks "You think dad was texting us?" Dean still looking at the laptop said "He's given coordinates before." Sam says "The man can barely work a toaster, Dean." Dean looks over at sam and says "Sam, it's good news! It means he's okay, or alive at least." Sam asks dean "Well, was their caller ID?" Dean said to Sam whilst looking at the laptop "Nah, it said Unknown." Sarah then asked as she sat down next to Dean "Well, where do the coordinates point too?" Dean then said "That's the interesting part, Rockford Illinois." Then sam said "That's interesting how?" Dean looked over and said "I checked the local Rockford paper, take a look at this." He turns the laptop around and Dean says "This cop Walter Kelly comes home from a shift, shoots his wife, then he puts the gun in his mouth and blows his brains out and earlier that night Kelly and his partner responded to a call at the Roosevelt asylum." Sam still confused says "Okay, I'm not following what has this got to do with the three of us?" Dean said "Dad earmarked the same asylum, in the journal let's see.... here seven unconfirmed sightings, two deaths -- till last week i think. I think this is where he wants us to go." Sam snorts and sarah and dean look over at him and says "This is a job...Dad wants us to work a job." Dean looked at sarah and then looked at sam and says "Well, maybe we'll meet him there? Maybe he's there?" Sam wasn't falling for it and said "Maybe he's not? I mean he could be sending us there by ourselves to hunt this thing." Dean still looks at Sam and says "Who cares! If he wants us there, it's good enough for me." Sam wasn't so sure and he said "This doesn't strike you as weird? The texting? The coordinates?" Dean says to Sam whilst the whole conversation sarah's been quiet not sure of what to say or do "Sam! Dad's tellin' us to go somewhere we're goin.' " Sam makes a bitchface and he sighs.

At the bar sarah is sitting down at the bar and dean walks in and sits down next to the cop and he says "You're Daniel Gunderson, You're a cop right?" Gunderson simply says "Yeah." Dean then says "Huh I'm uh, Nigel tufnel, The Chicago Tribune mind If ask you a couple of questions, about your partner?" Gunderson says "Yeah, I do I'm just tryin' to have a beer here." Dean then said to the officer "That's okay, I swear it won't take that long. I just want to get the story in your words." Gunderson looked over at Dean and said to him "A week ago, my partner was sitting in that chair. Now he's dead. You gonna ambush me here?" Dean looked back at the officer and said to him "Sorry. But I need to know what happened." Sam then pushes dean aside roughly and then he says to Dean "Hey buddy, why don't you leave the poor guy alone! That man's an officer! Why dontcha show a little respect!" Dean didn't say anything, he just pauses and stares at both of them and then he leaves followed by Sarah. Sam sits down next to Gunderson and Gunderson said "You didn't have to do that." Sam looks at him and says "Yeah, course I did, that guy was being a serious jerk, Let me buy you a beer." He looks over at the barman and adds "Two?" Gunderson simply says to Sam "Thanks."

After a while sam walks out of the bar and see sarah and dean sitting on the impala and walks over to them and dean says "Shoved me kinda hard back there, buddy boy." Sarah smirks and then looks at Sam and he says "I had to sell it didn't i? It's method acting." Sarah says "Well he does have a point dean, it was impressive method acting so what did he say to you?" Sam looks at both of them and he says "So, Walter Kelly was a good cop, head of his class, even-keeled he had a bright future ahead of him." Sarah then asked "What about home life, what was that like did he say anything?" Sam said "He and his wife had a few fights like everybody, but it was mostly smooth sailing and they was even talking about having kids." Dean then says "All right so either kelly had some deep-seated crazy waiting to bust out, or something else did it to him." Sam simply replied with "Right."Dean then asked "What did Gunderson tell you about the asylum?" Sam said "A lot."

Sam, Sarah and Dean jump over the tail chain linked fence at the asylum and entered the building, Sam said "So apparently the cops chased the kids here....into the south wing." He indicates a sign on the door using his torch and Sarah says "South Wing, huh?" Then dean flicks through the journal and he said "1972, Three kids broke into the south wing, only one survived way he tells it one of his friends went nuts and started lighting up the place." Sarah said "So whatever's going on, the south wing is the heart of it all." Dean then asks "But if the kids are spelunking the asylum, why aren't there a ton more deaths?" Sam and Sarah look around and then they noticed the broken chain and sam says "Looks like the doors are usually chained. Could've been chained up for years." Sarah then said "Yeah, to keep people out. Or to keep something in." They looked at each other and then Sarah slowly opened the door and they walk down the corridor.

Dean then says Jokingly to sam "Let me know if you see any dead people, Haley Joel." Sam wasn't exactly impressed and sarah was too busy shining her torch around the rooms and sam said "Dude, enough." Dean says "I'm serious, you gotta be more careful, all right? Ghosts are attracted to that whole EMP thing, you got going on." Dean looks behind to make sure that sarah is still with them and thankfully she is still behind them she looks over at dean and smiles and he smiles back and then looks ahead and then sam said "I told you, it's not ESP! I just have strange vibes sometimes. Weird dreams." Dean then said "Yeah, whatever. Don't ask, don't tell." Sam asked "You get any reading on that thing or not?" Dean says "Nope, of course, it doesn't mean no one's home." Sam then says "Spirits can't appear during certain hours of the day." Dean then says "Yeah the freaks come out at night." Sarah said "Yeah." Dean then said to Sam " Hey Sam, who do you think is the hotter psychic: Patricia Arquette, Jennifer Love Hewitt, or you?" Sam pushes dean gently and sarah laughs.

In another room Sarah, Dean and Sam are looking around and dean then whistles and he says "Man. Electro-shock. Lobotomies. They did some twisted stuff to these people. Kinda like my man Jack in Cuckoo's Nest." He makes crazy eyes at sam and sarah but they ignore him and his smiles fades away and then Sarah asks "So. Whaddaya think? Ghosts possessing people?" Sam said "Maybe, or Maybe it's more like amityville or the smurf hunting." Dean then says "Spirits driving them insane. Kinda like my man Jack in The Shining." He smiles and then sam just looks at dean and says "Dean, when are we gonna talk about this?" He looks at dean and then dean says "About what?" Sam still looks at dean and he says "About the fact Dad's not here." Dean says "Oh. I see. How 'bout...never." Sam was surprised by dean's answer and he then said "I'm being serious, man. He sent us here..." Before they could argue anymore Sarah goes on her own and finds a sign on the floor and picks it up and it reads "'Sanford Ellicott'" She then calls the guys and they come to where she is and shows them the sign and dean says "You know what we gotta do. We gotta find out more about the south wing. See if something happened here." Dean gives sam the sign sarah and dean walk away leaving sam with the sign and with a bitchface.

In a waiting room Sam was sitting on a couch flicking through a magazine, a man opens the door and the sign on the door says "'Dr James Ellicott, Clinical Psychiatry'." Ellicott says "Sam winchester?" Sam looks up and puts down the magazine and says "That's me." Ellicott says to sam "Come on in." They move to the inner room and sam says "Thanks for seeing me last minute." Sam looked around the room and he said "Dr...Ellicott, Ellicott that name wasn't that a Dr Sanford Ellicott? Yeah, he was a chief psychiatrist somewhere." Ellicott looked at Sam and said "My father was chief of staff at the old Roosevelt Asylum. How did you know?" Sam said "Ah. Well, I'm sorta...a local history buff. Hey, wasn't there, an incident or something? In the hospital, I guess. In the south wing, right?" Ellicott changed the subject and said to sam "We're on your dollar, Sam. We're here to talk about you." Sam said "Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah. Sure." The Doctor then asked "So. How's things?" To which sam answered "Ah, things are good, doctor."

The Doctor said "Good. Whatcha been doing?" Sam said "Ahh, same old. I just been on a... on a road trip with my brother and sarah." The Doctor asked "Was that fun?" There was a long pause before sam replied and he said "Loads. Umm. You know, we...ahh...we...met...a lot of ...interesting people. Did a lot of ...ah...interesting things...ahhh. You know? What was it exactly that happened in the south wing? I forget..." Ellicott said "Look, if you're a local history buff, you know all about the Roosevelt riot." Sam then said "The riot. Well, no. I know. I'm just curious." The Doctor said "Sam. Let's cut the bull, shall we. You're avoiding the subject." Sam asked "What Subject?" You. Now I'll make you a deal. I'll tell you all about the Roosevelt riot, if you tell me something honest about yourself. Like, uh, this brother and your friend, you're road tripping with. How do you feel about them?" Sam got a little freaked out and he didn't say anything.

Dean and Sarah was leaning against the window next to the door and they started talking and Dean asked "So what is exactly going on between us, i mean are they any feelings there or is it just me?" Sarah looks at dean and says "There are feelings there dean but i don't know if we should go there because of the Job mostly." Dean looks at her and smiles and says "I was thinking after we've done with the job we should maybe talk about it?" She looked at him and smiled and said "Yeah i like that idea." After sometime sam walks passed them both and they join sam and dean says " Dude! You were in there forever. What the hell were you talking about?" Sam says whilst the three of them was walking "Just the hospital, you know." Sarah asks "And...?" Sam looks at her and says "And the south wing? It's where the housed the really hard cases. The psychotics, the criminally insane."

Dean says "Sounds cozy." Sam said "Yeah. And one night in '64, they rioted. Attacked staff. Attacked each other." Sarah said "So the patients took over the asylum?" Sam simply said "Apparently." Dean then asks Sam "Any deaths?" Sam said "Some patients, some staff. I guess it was pretty gory. Some of the bodies were never even recovered, including our chief of staff, Ellicott." Sarah and Dean was confused and Sarah asked "Whaddaya mean, never recovered?" Sam said "Cops scoured every inch of the place but I guess the patients must've...stuffed the bodies somewhere hidden." Dean simply said "That's grim." Sam said "Yeah, they transferred all the remaining patients and closed the hospital down." Sarah said "So, to sum it up, we've got a bunch of violent deaths and a bunch of unrecovered bodies." Sam said "And a bunch of angry spirits." Dean said "Good times, let's check out the hospital tonight."

A torchlight approaches behind the door, heads are seen. The door creaks open, a young man and woman university aged enter. The Guy said to his girlfriend "Check this out! Creepy...yet terrifying." His girlfriend wasn't exactly impressed and she said "I thought we was going to see a movie." The boyfriend say "This is better, it's like we're in a movie." The girl was still not impressed and showed it by huffing and she said "I can't believe you call this a date." The guy said "C'mon, it'll be fun. Let's look around. C'mon!" They both moved further along the building and the guy jumped and swinging around and says "What's that?" The girl swings around, the guy pokes the girl causing her to jump and he laughed, she wasn't exactly happy with him and the guy said to his girlfriend "Hey look. C'mon, let's check it out." Of course and understandable she was scared and told her boyfriend "I...don't want to go, Let's just go."

The guy was peristened and he said "C'mon!" They both stare at each other and then the guy said "Okay. Okay, you stay here." The girlfriend didn't really want to be on her own in a scary abandon building and she said "W-Gavin.No." Gavin looks to his girlfriend and says "I'll just be a minute, nothing's gonna get ya I promise." Gavin moves into the next room alone. The door slams behind him. He looks at it, grins, and keeps going. In the doorway a female figure with long hair is seen in shadow just as Gavin's flashlight fails. He shakes it and he says to himself "Damn it." He turns around and thinks it's his girlfriend and says "Hey, Sweetie. Couldn't take it, huh?" The girl moved towards him and they made out and his girlfriend shouts "Gavin? Gavin? Where are you?" He pulls back and freaks out once he releases who his was kissing.

Back at the entrance Sam, Sarah and Dean, Sam pushes open the door dean on one side of him and sarah on the other sam is holding a video camera, sarah was holding a flashlight and dean was holding an emf meter. Sarah asks dean "Getting any readings?" Dean said "Yeah, big time." Sam said "The place is orbing like crazy." Dean then says "Probably multiple spirits are causing the haunting..." Dean then says "We gotta find 'em and burn 'em. Just be careful though. The only thing that makes me more nervous than a pissed off spirit... is the pissed off spirit of a psycho killer." Sam, Sarah and dean keep looking and they go into separate rooms, after a few minutes Sam sees an old lady through the video lens; white haired, one eye bloody and hanging out, moving towards him. Sam says "Dean? Dean!" Both dean and sarah run into the room and is rummaging in the bag at the same time and gets out his Shotgun and then he shouts to Sam "Sam, get down!"

Sam throws himself on the ground and Dean shoots the woman, She disintegrates and the three of them looked around, gasped and Sam said "That was weird." Dean said "You're telling me." They all walk out of the room and Sam said to Dean "No, Dean, I mean it was weird that she didn't attack me." Dean said "Looked pretty aggro from where I was standing." Sam then said as they was walking "She didn't hurt me. She didn't even try! So if she didn't wanna hurt me then what did she want?" A noise comes from a room they are passing, Sarah and Dean immediately hold up their guns and Sam flicks on the torch and shines it around the room They approach a metal bed covered in a ragged sheet, on its side. They see the top of a blonde head behind it and they brace themselves Sarah reaches out and tips the bed over, it reveals the girl from earlier on and she is crouching facing the corner and then she spins around, terrified and gasping." Sarah walks to her lowering her shotgun and says "It's alright, we're not going to hurt you. It's okay. What's your name?" The girl replied "Katherine, kat." Dean then said "Okay, I'm Dean, this is Sam and this is Sarah." Sam then asks "What are you doing here!?" Kat says to the three of them "Um. my boyfriend, Gavin."

Dean then asked Kat "Is he here?" Kat looks at Dean and then he says "Somewhere. He thought it would be fun, try and see some ghosts. I thought it was all just...you know. Pretend. I've seen things. I heard Gavin scream and..." Dean then said "Alright. Kat? Come on, Sam's gonna get you out of here whilst me and sarah go and find your boyfriend Gavin." But Kat wasn't having any of it and she says "No! No. I'm not going to leave without Gavin. I'm coming with you." Dean said to Kat "It's no joke around here, okay. It's dangerous." Kat looks to the three of them and she says "That's why I gotta find him." Dean, Sarah and Sam look at each other and sarah and sam just shrug and then dean looks back at Kat and he sighs and says "Alright, I guess we gonna split up then. Let's go." Sam and Sarah wandering around shouting "Gavin...Gavin?"

Kat and Dean went together and she shouted "Gavin...Gavin?" Dean then looks at Kat and asks her "I got a question for ya. You've seen a lot of horror movies, yeah?" She looked at Dean and said "I guess so." Dean turned to face her and he said to her "Do me a favor. Next time you see one? Pay attention. When someone says a place is haunted...don't go in!" As they move on, a dark shape moves across the inside of the window."

Sarah notices gavin on the ground unconscious and she said to Sam "I found gavin he's over there." They both went to him and sam crouches down to shake him, Gavin wakes and freaks out and Sam says " Hey, Gavin. It's okay, we're here to help." Gavin looked at both of them and said "Who are you two?" Sam said "My name's sam and this is Sarah, we found your girlfriend she's safe with my brother." Gavin then said "Kat?" He slowly gets up and says "Is she alright?" Sarah said "Yeah, she's worried about you. Are you okay?" Gavin said to Sarah "I was running, I think I fell." Sam then said to Gavin "There was...There was this girl, her face was all messed up." Sarah said "Okay listen, did this girl... did she try and hurt you?" Gavin looked at Sarah and was confused but answered anyways "What? No, she...uh..." Sam asked "She what?" Gavin said "She kissed me." Sam and Sarah looked at each other and then sarah said "Uh...um...but...but she didn't hurt you, physically?" Gavin replied with "Dude! She kissed me. I'm scarred for life!" Sam then said "Well, trust me, it could have been worse. Now do you remember anything else?" Then Gavin remembered something and he said "She uh...actually, she tried to whisper something in my ear." Sam simply said "What?" Gavin was honest and he said "I don't know. I ran like hell."

Dean and Kat in another corridor, dean leading the way unfortunately the flashlight fades he starts shaking the torch he then said "You son of a bitch." Luckily he reached inside his pocket and said "It's alright, I got a lighter." Kat turns to look behind them and then she suddenly says "Ow. You're hurting my arm." That confused dean and he said to her "What are you talking about?" They turned to each other , realize they're too far apart to be touching, and look down. A disembodied hand is clutching kat's arm. She is dragged into a room, the metal door slamming behind her dean races to the door and struggles to open it. Kat bangs on it from the inside but unfortunately it doesn't budge.

Dean continues to struggle with the door and on the other side Kat says "Lemme out! Please!" Dean says to kat from the other side of the door "Kat! Hang on!" Dean smashes at the door with a metal pipe, then tries to jimmy it open. Inside Kat looking at the door someone stands behind her, breathing heavily. When Kat spins around there is no one there dean continues banging on the door she turns around and this time she sees a ghost. Tall, heavyset, long dark oily hair, his face a bloody mess she screams and backs up to the door...and backs into him. She screams again. Running down the hall was Sam, Sarah and Gavin and Sam says "What's going on?"

He looks at the three of them and then points to the door and says "She's inside with one of them." Kat on the other side of the door said "Help me!!" Gavin simply says "Kat!" On the other side of the door kat slided down the door and she said "Get me outta here!" Sam then walked towards the door and said "Kat, it's not going to hurt you. Listen to me. You've got to face it. You've got to calm down." Dean and Sarah turned to Sam both confused and then Dean asked "She's gotta what?!" From the other side of the door Kat shouts " I have to what?!" Sam then says to everyone "These spirits, they're not trying to hurt us, they're trying to communicate. You gotta face it. You gotta listen to it." Kat on the other side of the door and she says "You face it!" Sam said to Kat "No! It's the only way to get out of there." Kat simply said "No!" Sam then says "Look at it, come on you can do it." She takes a few deep breaths and turns to face the ghost, he leans in close to her face.

It went quiet for a few moments and then Gavin said "Kat?" Dean and Sarah look over at sam and dean says "Man, I hope you're right about this." Sam says "Yeah, me too." Then They wait outside the door in tense silence, he lock clicks and the door slowly opens and kat is standing in the doorway and gavin hugs her and says "Oh, Kat." Sam goes inside to check out the room, he comes back out and shakes his head at sarah and dean and then Kat says "One thirty-seven." Sarah looked over at her and she said "Sorry?" She then said "It whispered in my ear 137." In synch sam, dean and sarah said "Room Number."

Sam, Sarah and Dean crouch against the wall where they can't be heard. Sarah then asks "Alright. So if these spirits aren't trying to hurt anyone..." Dean finished the sentence and said "Then what are they trying to do?" Sam then said "Maybe that's what they've been trying to tell us..." Dean then says "I guess we'll find out." Sam said "All right." Dean then said "So, now, are you guys ready to leave this place?" Kat looked at the three of them and said "That's an understatement." He then looks over to sam and says "Okay, You get them outta here me and sarah are going to room 137."

Sam leads Kat and Gavin down a hallway and Kat asks sam "So. How do you guys know about all this ghost stuff?" Sam says to both of them "It's kinda our job." Kat asks "Why would anyone want a job like that?" Sam huffs a laugh and then he replies with "I had a crappy guidance counselor." Kat asked another question and she said "And Dean and Sarah are they your bosses?" Sam says looking down at her simply "No." Sarah and Dean moves down a hallway and shines his torch on room 137. He pushes against the door, using his weight to push aside the broken furniture blocking it. The room is a mess, filing cabinets pushed over, papers everywhere, the walls stained, They both shine they torches around the room and then they start looking through the filing cabinets.

Sam marches down the hallway and tries the door but it's locked, he tries the other one but it's also locked sam turned around and said "Alright. I think we have a small problem." Then gavin suggested "Then break it down." Sam looked at Gavin and said "I don't think that's gonna work." Then Gavin suggests another idea and says "Break the windows." Kat then said "They're barred." Gavin then asked the obvious question "How are we gonna get out?" Sam then said to the both of them "That's the point. We're not. There's something in here. It doesn't want us to leave." Kat said "Those patients..." Sam said "No something else." Sarah and Dean are still searching the room and then he finds a loose panel and looks over at sarah and says "Hey I found something." She joins dean and dean pries it off and behind the wall is a satchel full of papers and he looks at Sarah and says "This is why we get paid the big bucks." Inside a journal with many notes and hand-drawn pictures of medical instruments, Dean and Sarah pull up a chair and starts reading, looking concerned.

Dean says to Sarah "Well all work and no play makes Dr. Ellicott a very dull boy." Then suddenly there was a noise that made both of them look up. Sam was walking back to Kat and Gavin and he said to them "Alright, I've looked everywhere. There's no other way out." Gavin then asked Sam "So what the hell are we gonna do?" Sam then said "Well for starters, we are not gonna panic." Gavin panicked and said "Why the hell not." Before sam could give Gavin an answer his phone rang and he answered it and it was Dean and he says "Hey." He was on a bad line and he said "Sam, it's me. I see it. It's coming at me." Sam worried asked dean "Where are you?" Dean said "I'm in the basement, Hurry up!" After he hung up the phone he looked at Kat and Gavin and said "Alright, can either of you handle a shotgun?" Gavin said "What? No?" Kat on the other hand said "Yeah, I can." Gavin looks at Kat in amazement and she looks at him and says "My dad took me skeet shooting a coupla times." Sam handed Kat a shotgun and said "Alright, here. It's loaded with rock salt. It may not kill a spirit, but it will repel it. So if you see something, shoot."

Sam searching through the hallway says "Dean!" His flashlight flickers and fades, he shakes and taps it out of nowhere a door swings open he raises his gun and approaches carefully. Sam said "Dean?" A shadow moves behind a ragged curtain, drawing his attention. When he pulls the curtain back there's no one there. He turns....and an old beaten up man with ragged hair and clothes grabs his face. His hands start glowing. He says to sam "Don't be afraid. I'm going to make you all better.

Gavin paces, Kat crouching against the wall holding the shotgun that sam gave her and she sighed and said to Gavin "Hey, Gavin?" Gavin come across the couch to her and he says "Yeah?" She says "If we make it out of here alive...we are so breaking up." He just stares at her and they hear a noise around the corner and both rise she rises the shotgun and asks Gavin "Did you hear that?" Gavin said "Something's coming." Dean and Sarah comes around the corner and they see kat just as she pulls the trigger and they throw themselves around the corner. Kat said to both of them "Sorry! Sorry." Dean said "Son of a..." They come around the corner and they look at the marks left on the wall and then he asks "What are you two still doing here? Where's sam?"

Gavin then said "He went to the basement, You called him." Both Sarah and Dean was confused and looked at each other then back at Gavin and Kat and dean said "I didn't call anybody." Kat then said "His cell phone rang. He said it was you." Sarah said "Basement, huh?" Dean looked around and grabbing some extra weapons and then he said " Alright. Watch yourselves....and watch out for me and Sarah!" They headed for the basement and Dean says Sammy? Sam, you down here? Sam? Sam!" As they turn, sam is standing right in front of them they both jump back pointing their shotguns at sam and Dean says "Man, answer me when I'm calling you! You alright?" Something wasn't right about sam and he said "Yeah. I'm fine." Dean then says "You know it wasn't me who called your cell, right?" Sam then said "Yeah, I know. I think something lured me down here." Sarah said "me and dean think we know who. Dr. Ellicott. That's what the spirits have been trying to tell us. You haven't seen him, have you?"

Sam said "No. How do you know it was him?" Dean then said "'Cause I found his log book. Apparently he was experimenting on his patients, awful stuff. Makes lobotomies look like a coupla aspirin." Sam said "But it was the patients who rioted." Sarah then said "Yeah. They were rioting against Dr. Ellicott. Dr. Feelgood was working on some sort of, like, extreme rage therapy. He thought that if he could get his patients to vent their anger then they would be cured of it. Instead it only made them worse and worse and angrier and angrier. So I'm thinking, what if his spirit is doing the same thing? To the cop? To the kids in the seventies, making them so angry they become homicidal.... Come on, we gotta find his bones and torch 'em." Sam looked at both of them and said "How? The police never found his body." Dean then said "The log book said he had some sort of hidden procedure room down here somewhere where he'd work on his patients. So, if I was a patient I'd drag his ass down here, do a little work on it myself."

Sam said "I don't know, it sounds kinda..." Sarah said "Crazy?" Sam simply said "Yeah." Dean said "Yeah, exactly." Dean opens another door, looks inside then gestures with his head to Sam and Sarah to follow. Sam is giving Sarah and Dean a stealthy, sly look. The three of them enter the room and sam said to the both of them "I told you I looked everywhere. I didn't find a hidden room." Dean then said "Well, that's why they call it hidden.." Suddenly there was a wind draft and he continues with "You hear that?" Sam simply says "What?" Dean and sarah both look around, crouching holding their hands out and says "There's a door here." Sam points a gun to the both of them and says "Dean and Sarah." A trickle of blood dripping from his nose and he continues "Both of you step away from the door."

Sarah and Dean both turn around and dean says to sam " Sam, put the gun down." Sam looks at Dean and says "Is that an order?" Dean says as he protects sarah "More like a friendly request." Sam raises the gun to dean's chest and says "'Cause I'm getting pretty tired of taking your orders." Dean then said "I knew it. Ellicott did something to you." Sam then said to dean "For once in your life, just shut your mouth." Dean said to sam "What are you gonna do, Sam? Gun's filled with rock salt. It's not gonna kill me." Sam shoots both Dean and Sarah in the chests and they land through the hidden door to fall on the floor and he says "No. But it will hurt like hell."

Sarah and Dean are both lying on the floor, coming to and gasping for breath, Dean looks up at Sam and he says "Sam!" He stands over the both of them and dean continues "We gotta burn Ellicott's bones and all this will be over, and you'll be back to normal." Sam looked down at the both of them and says to them "I am normal. I'm just telling the truth for the first time. I mean, why are we even here? 'Cause you're following Dad's orders like a good little solider? Because you always do what he says without question? Are you that desperate for his approval?" Dean says "This isn't you talking, Sam."Sam still looks down at the both of them and says to dean "That's the difference between you and me. I have a mind of my own. I'm not pathetic, like you." Dean says "So what are you gonna do, huh? Are you gonna kill us?" Sam said "You know what, I am sick of doing what you tell me to do. We're no closer to finding Dad today than we were six months ago."

Dean says "Well, then here. Let me make it easier for you." He holds his Smith and Wesson towards Sam and continues "Come on. Take it. Real bullets are gonna work a hell of a lot better than rock salt." Sam hesitates and then dean finally says "Take it!!" Sam points the gun at Dean's face, Sarah held dean's hand and sam said "You hate me that much? You think you could kill your own brother? Then go ahead. Pull the trigger. Do it!" Sam pulls the trigger, the chamber is empty he tries again, and once more dean uses a right cross to knock sam to the ground and they both struggle to get up. Dean moves to stare at Sam and looks down at him and says "Man, I'm not going to give you a loaded pistol!" Sam stares up at both of them but dean delivers a vicious right cross to knock sam out, almost falling as he does so. He pats his brother and says "Sorry, Sammy."

Sarah and Dean begins looking around the room, pushing back ragged curtains with his pistol. DR.Ellicott glides passed dean and sarah but neither of them notice, He sees a tuft of something poking out of the corner of a closed cupboard and moves closer. He opens the door to find a mummified corpse and flinches back from the smell, they both gagged. Sarah says "Oh that's gross."He then salts the body and says "Soak it up." Dean drops the salt container and grabs a small tin of kerosene, squirting the body. In the background his torch flicker, unnoticed. A gurney comes flying across the room and knocks him to the ground. DR. ELLICOTT grabs his face and his hands light up. Dr Ellicott says to dean "Don't be afraid. I'm going to help you. I'm going to make you all better."

Sarah quickly reacted by grabbing the lighter and she set the bones on fire, the doctor let dean go and he quickly crawled away sarah went over to him watching the doctor disappear and then they went to check on sam who was awake and dean said "You're not going to try and kill us, are ya?" Sam looks around confused and says "No" He then raised his hand to push at his jaw and then dean said "Good. Because that would be awkward." It was the following morning and the five of them was outside the asylum and Kat says "Thank you guys." Gavin says "Yeah thanks guys." They watch gavin and kat walk towards the car, then they turn to the impala sam said "Hey dean." Dean looks to him whilst they talked sarah went away so they could talk in private and sam continues "I'm sorry, man. I said some awful things back there." Dean said "You remember all that?" Sam said "Yeah. It's like I couldn't control it. But I didn't mean it, any of it." Dean said "You didn't, huh?" Sam said "No, of course not! Do we need to talk about this?" Dean says "No. I'm not really in the sharing and caring kinda mood. I just wanna get some sleep." But before he gets into the car he went to sarah and sam went into the front passenger seat and let them have some privacy and Dean says "Hey i wanted to thank you for saving my life back there, so about what i said earlier what do you say we give this a go and see what happens?" Sarah smiled and looked at her and she said "You're welcome, you've done the same to me and i have been thinking about it and i'm thinking yeah i'd love too." They held hands and had their first kiss, sam noticed and he smiled and said to himself "Finally."
