Ren

Understanding that the starfish survived by sacrificing useless parts of their body as a decoy to entrap prey.

Also understanding this creature had adapted to survive against dumb creatures that didn't know where to attack.

He focused again on the starfish this time he stabbed straight at the core of the starfish, this time blood leaked but the starfish used all of its arms to grab hold of him.

Stuck in its grasp, while the starfish was slowly dying, not panicking knowing he only had to wait out the creature's death.

"Mutant creature stuck starfish killed. Beast soul gained. Eat it's flesh to gain 0 to 10 mutant geno points randomly."

Sensing the starfish's grip give way he hauled the creature the size of a human to the surface before preparing it as a jerky.

Consuming a bit of it while checking the beat soul.

[stuck starfish: beast soul type: sticky shield]

Not understanding how to best utilize the beast soul, he tossed it to the back of his mind, jumping back into the water trying to find similar creatures.

Seeing a mutant sea slug of similar size of the previous starfish. He stabbed, lodging the dagger into the flesh with no reaction, the blade was stuck. Attempting to punch the slug to retrieve the blade his fist also got stuck.

Not in any danger, but figured the sea slug usually fought with poison after catching prey. Luckly this sea slug probably never sees creatures with armor that could disconnect contact with the slugs flesh and his own.

Ren cycled through geno arts and idea to get unstuck. Noticing yin energy could was resistant, evading the slugs trap in little time, Ren was intrigued, now stabbing again with yin energy in his dagger he no longer got stuck, easily gaining the advantage and finishing the creature.

"Mutant creature sticky slug killed. No beast soul gained. Eat it's flesh to gain 0 to 10 mutant geno points randomly."

Ren again carried the creature to the surface, preparing its flesh. Before calling it a day. Not disappointed in not gaining another beast soul.

He gained a few days worth of mutant meat continuing the process for a few days targeting immobile sea creatures, a creature or two a day.

The pressure and resistance of the water helped refine his strength.

Later that week Ren stumbled upon two sacred-blood creatures. What he assumed as a mother and child. The mother being a massive glowing mushroom the size of the house and a smaller mushroom with a purple hue the size of an elephant.

Analyzing the creature's weakness and how the mushrooms would be able to harm him.

Ren concluded the mushroom was layered in spores that periodically morphed into spikes up to the size of swords and like the slug would contain the properties of stickiness.

Using a similar strategy to capture prey with stickiness them kill them with spikes.

Not wishing to get close, but know he had to, Ren located the heart of the creature, before gaining momentum and sending himself up like a projectile toward the heart of the creature located behind the mushroom's domed head.

Sticking his dagger out infused with Yang energy, the spores stuck him frozen while he penetrated the mushrooms heart all while being stabbed with the mushrooms spore like spears, grinding against his armor, but not sharp nor having enough force behind them didn't penetrate his armor.

"Sacred-blood Stickshroom killed. No beast soul gained. Eat it's flesh to gain 0 to 10 sacred-blood geno points randomly."

Killing the larger creature, certainly not having the stomach to consume the entire thing and not gaining a beastsoul.

Ren sighed trying to summon his pet beast soul the nightmare-cat it oddly was fine deep under water, immediately feasting on the dead sacred-blood beast at an incredible speed.

Ren repeated the same strategy with the other sacred-blood creature.

"Sacred-blood sporesword-parisite killed. Beast soul gained. Eat it's flesh to gain 0 to 10 sacred-blood geno points randomly."

[sacred-blood creature sporesword-parasite: beast soul type: sword]

Happy that he finally gained a sacred-blood beast soul after killing three so far on his journey and lucky he gained a weapon type in the form of a sword. Finally not having to keep replacing his z-steel weapons.

Ren wished to take his time consuming the creature in hopes of gaining a few sacred-geno points. Taking half of the remaining day to haul the corpse to the surface fending off weak scavengers and spending the other half turning the creature into a weird mushroom jerky.

Ren had enough food for the next month.

So he again took his time digesting the food and trading in the safety of his hope not having a point of hunting now if he already had food from a previous hunt.

A few times through the month though, Ren was bored and went hunting, killing a few more mutant creatures, hoarding even more meat jerky. Extending the break another month and a half.

Successfully ending with 97 mutant geno points and 6 sacred-blood geno points.

Half a year had passed since he first entered the sanctuary extremely pleased with his progress, but now was time for the more grueling tasks.

Unlike ordinary, primitive and mutant creatures, sacred-blood and super creatures were extreme rarity's.

Often times spending more time searching for them then having chances fighting them.

Most people would hunt sacred-blood creatures in groups and if done the most efficiently after splitting the winnings of the fight would take close to a year or more to collect all 100 sacred-blood geno points.

That was so if a successful hunt occurred every few weeks.

Ren could find a sacred-blood creature underwater close to twice a week but only a few were like the mushroom, slug and starfish, easy unmoving targets.

As much as Ren had proficiently in the (tide) geno art he couldn't catch a sea creature running from him.

He could chase if he used his body strengthening geno arts, but the rate of oxygen consumption was outrageous even with a oxygen recovery geno art coupled with his (consume) geno art for added efficiency still wasn't worth it.

Ren had to settle with sea-ground borne creatures, they were as common as sacred-blood creature sightings on land, and half the sacred-blood creature sightings nearby on land brought rumors he may be able to capitalize on.
