Princess Vittoria Olympia of the Romana family of Olympus

"Olly," Alexandré entered the living room followed by Campbell with a look of pure worry and stress. He did that unattractive thing of having wrinkles between his eyebrows as he twisted his upper lip. He always did look slightly constipated when he was worked up over something.

I folded my arms over my chest not entirely pleased to see him but also relieved I was not trapped alone with Campbell. He tried to hug me but I pushed his head back with a scoff, "Don't act like a concerned older brother."

"You are ridiculous," he gaped.

"You're the one whose ridiculous! You had me cycling through the streets of Monaco like a psychopath Alex!" I protested as I raised my hands, "Then you let me become so desperate that I was willing to jump in the car with him."

"It's not what it looks like," Alex held his hands out to try to calm me down, "If we didn't do all of this Pa could have gotten to you before I could. I offered to get you from Monaco myself hoping you would react the way you did."

My brain short circuited for a few minutes as I raised my eyebrows then looked to Campbell who poured himself another glass of whiskey. Clearly he was hoping he could get drunk enough to pass out before we continued this conversation any further.

"What do you mean you planned for all of this to happen?" I frowned.

Alex looked back at Campbell as if questioning rather now was the right time to tell me. Once upon a time they had been the closest of friends but that quickly changed after he had cheated on me. From there they only met at events since it was the diplomatic thing for two future Kings.

"May you please give me a moment with my sister Campbell?" he looked back to the blonde haired man, who simply nodded, grabbed his glass then left us alone, "Sit down for me Olly."

He patted the space next to him. For a moment I almost negotiated saying no and storming out, but that would mean I would have more unanswered questions to think about. With a huff, I sat down next to him. "Tell me what's going on Alex."

"You've been extremely busy since you left home," he chuckled, "Each time I have to negotiate with Pa to let you go. Obviously sometimes we don't see eye to eye and he calls you back home for a few months but eventually lets you go. However last time with Pierre there was a mess in the Palace, Vittoria."

"Did everyone really expect for me to say yes?" I gaped, "Pierre is literally the most boring person alive Alex and I'm not exaggerating."

"His family however is not," he sighed.

"What do you mean?"

"They are one of the investors in our country Vittoria and it was a huge celebration on their behalf when you acknowledged their existence. Even though you are richer, they help us greatly when it comes to the mineral aspect of our country."

"And?" I shrugged, "What does me dating him have to do with the Palace?"

"That means our family would gain a lot if you two married. Pa didn't expect you too but the way you ended things kind of took things over a boiling point."

"So what does that have to do with me?"

He let out a deep sigh before he looked into my eyes, "Because of your outburst last night, Pa has arranged your marriage to Pierre when you get back. He finalized everything yesterday and when I found out I offered to retrieve you myself. I knew it was wrong.

I wouldn't want to see you marry Pierre because I knew how much you hated him. Therefore I had to make a plan with Campbell to completely throw Pa off."

"And me being an emotional mess fell right into your trap," I chuckled as I leaned back on the couch.

"We knew if you ran away it would buy us time to think of a plan."

"And why can't I just talk to Pa and tell him I don't want to marry Pierre? Surely he can't force me to."

"That's the thing. He doesn't want you to marry Pierre but we desperately need this power move."

That confused me even more, "What do you mean?"

"The economy hasn't been great Tory. Especially with the taxes of importing petrol and minerals in the country things have taken a deep nose dive. We needed Pierre's family's connections to help us get back on our feet."

"Why hasn't Pa told me any of this?" I gasped, "I could have tried to help. Dammit I have enough money and connections to help."

"But not in the engineering and minerals sector Vittoria. You're more into media, fashion and beauty. Plus you belong to the royal family. Your net worth already sort of belongs to the country.

Outside of that I found out that Pierra's family wanted him to marry you since they truly are not doing that well financially. With your money it can add as an investment. Once you were married, Pierre was planning to divorce you."

"That scum bag," I frowned, "I knew there was something wrong with him from the get go. I didn't even know his name when he popped up. Did you tell Pa about this?"

He shook his head, "He has enough stress on his plate already. I decided to deal with things myself this time around."

"So then what's the plan?" I frowned, "If we present this to Pa surely I won't be forced to marry."

"Even if it isn't Pierre he will arrange with another. It's the only solution right now," he sighed.

"Then what am I supposed to do?" I panicked as I felt my face heat up.

"I have found a more suitable future husband for you that I know will treat you well and that is also willing to marry temporarily to help themselves and our country."

"Who is it?"

"Campbell."
