Jason stabbed the last goblin in the camp with his sword. Looking around to make sure that that was all of them, he noticed the rest of the wolves doing the same thing.

It had been 1 day from when they buried their kind, but they had hunted 3 camps already and the one they had just destroyed was their 4th. Not that Jason was complaining though the EXP was glorious and he was already at level 30. In each of the camps was a monster bait, so Jason had in his inventory 5 goblin baits and 1 snake, in the camps they fought there were no goblin leaders just normal goblins which the wolves made quick work of.

The best thing about the raiding was that the wolves didn't care about the loot or drops, they only wanted to kill goblins, so Jason had the entire thing to himself. From goblin drops to the treasures they robbed from unsuspecting merchants all of them were claimed by Jason. Currently, he had earned about 15 gold from the last 4 camps, not as much as the first one but nevertheless a lot of money.

The wolves made sure that they got everything and left for the temporary hideout they made near the camp. Jason was able to showcase his skill at the hideout, he created shelters that the wolves started to live in. And now he was going to thank the wolves in his own way.

At the hideout was 5 shelters big enough to fit the entire pack of wolves, Jason had spent a few hours working on them while the wolves were taking a break from their first attack but it was completely worth it, he earned 20 points just from creating them, and he was hoping that he could get a better way.

The wolves were walking around the camp doing nothing, a few were looking at Jason like they were expecting something. Jason dug a wide shallow pit in the ground and went out to look for suitable sticks. He came back a few minutes later with two strikes that had a y shape except the line at the bottom was straight. He stuck it into the ground across from each other and place a metal rod over the pit using the sticks the elevate it.

That's right he was going to start making real food for the wolves, and this time he was going to grind points and Exp for his cooking skill along the way. He put in 5 pieces of rabbit on the metal spike and started to turn the spike with a goblin rag he had washed in the river near them.

Speaking of the river he could already see some of the wolves playing in it. Jason couldn't understand how they went from the cheerful happy wolves to the vicious wolves that made goblin shish kebab.

Jason could understand how they were able to walk around so freely when they were on a quest for revenge, for their fallen comrades and families. If he were in their place he wouldn't be like them instead he probably would hunting the enemies until his last breath no matter where they went.

It was strange and something Jason needed to think over, he now needed to start a fire, but he had no way to do it, maybe he could use mana but currently, he could only emit blue light from his hands nothing else. Jason thought to anything he might have, wait would he have to do it the old fashioned way? ugh.... Jason got up and was about to look for sticks to start rubbing really hard for fire when a sudden hit of inspiration hit him. He yelled to Boops in his head

"Boops my system inventory is accessible here right?"

'yup this is classified as another world so you can take out or store anything if you really want to.'

"isn't everything virtual reality?"

'it depends on what you define as virtual, wasn't the leadership training program technically virtual yet you could interact with everything like the real world, ahh, you know what, just think of the game as a spirit world of sorts and you're able to pull out stuff from your inventory?'

"spirit world?"

'haa I thought you knew stuff like that, think of it as headspace or a place only your soul can access'

"then isn't my would the only one that gets EXP and stuff how about my body that's not in the spirit world?"

'Trust me when I say this, the soul is the most important thing you have, the body can be secondary'

Jason didn't really understand much of what Boops was telling him and just responded with

"mhm okay, whatever you say I guess"

Boops sighed and dismissively told Jason

'Just go and do what you were planning already'

Jason logged out quickly after making sure his avatar was in a safe position. He quickly ran to the nearest convenience store to get a lighter and other essentials things like a foldable shovel, he was NOT digging with a sword ever again. Getting food and water was also important, Jason couldn't think of anything else he needed, with Boops handling the stocks that Jason and the twins got they were set for life by relying on the MH stocks which were skyrocketing because of their breakthrough creation.

Jason saw a small stand with ornamental pocket knives and other pretty looking things like necklaces and earrings. He thought for a moment and then grabbed handfuls of them. Before Jason basket looked like he was looking for supplies to live but now it looked like somebody was trying to survive but found cool stuff and decided to buy those instead.

The price of all of the trinkets and poker knives was pretty cheap and with the idea that Jason just had, it might work.

After ignoring the cashier confused look after checking out everything Jason walked out a question to Boops

"hey, Boops you know how to get firearms in this world?"

'ah, that well sadly this worlds version of firearms are strictly regulated by the government I highly doubt you'll be able to get some even with the money we currently have'

Jason expressed regret at Boops' words

"darn it my genius plan, gone, reduced to atoms"

'ah forgot to tell you Perseus meet this weird dude that had this laser gun thing, he also knew Perseus's name and overall looked kinda shady.'

Jason could have focused on how the dude knew Perseus' name but another part caught his attention.

"he had a laser gun?"

'yeah you still have a chance'

Jason started thinking intensely

take laser gun --> put in inventory --> take out in reality --> do cool stuff with gun

"Boops put 'acquire laser gun' on my memo"

'done'

Jason hurried back because he realized that he was losing time to make food for the wolves. He entered the apartment and into his room, Arjuna was sitting on the couch staring off into space Jason stopped to ask what was happening

Arjuna answered lifelessly

"I think I'm getting overworked "

Jason didn't really have time but he tried his best to explain to Arjuna that he should take care of his help and that he should probably take a break for a bit. Arjuna did brighten up at the thought of a break so Jason patted himself on the back mentally and hurried to the capsule again.

It was in the afternoon already and Jason hurried to start the fire, first he needed kindling which he got from shaving scraps of wood he then added dry pine needles which were found everywhere in the forest thanks to an overabundance of pine trees in this forest.

Not too later, he had a fire roaring in the afternoon sun he placed the rabbits carefully and started to roast them. According to some random book, Boops found cooking rabbits was sorta like cooking chicken. The book said that cooking can vary from 20 to 45 min depending on the size and Jason's rabbit meat was huge about the size of his head. Jason slowly turned the metal spike, while the rest of the wolves who smelled the delicious smell hurried over to Jason.

Jason could spot some wolves drooling and the audible sound of stomach growling was like a symphony in fact Jason was pretty sure he heard some of them in harmony with each other. Never had he been so thankful that his mother's friend had taught him piano and music theory.

The juices of the rabbit meat started to drip off, Jason pulled out the salt and pepper to season the rabbit, he didn't really know what to season rabbit with so he only took out salt and pepper.

Finally, Boops and Jason after looking closely at the meat determined that it was cooked. Jason pulled it out and started preparing for the next batch of meat this time he would season it first.

The wolves all stood around trying their best to patiently wait for Jason.
