In the forest

As they wandered in the dark forest, it seemed like they had no particular direction. They had exhausted their willpower getting over the hill cliff and so, Su decided they sojourned at an enclosed spot at the entrance of a cave.

The 'Man' really needed this stop; for he had lost so much blood.

Su lit a fire and they sat in opposite directions.

He picked a stick and scribbled on the ground while the 'Man' rested his back on a rock.

The atmosphere appeared peaceful.

Their silhouettes danced as the breeze flicked the fire-light around.

"Your life is worth pretty much huh?"

"I guess so..." the 'Man' gave a little smile

"we have to get out of this jungle"

"we will..." the 'Man' was sure the Royal guards would be out already searching for him, the King would not allow delay on his only son

"those men... will not leave until you're captured, perhaps... killed" Su raised his head and looked into the 'Man's eyes, he wanted him to fully grasp the situation he was in; if he hadn't already

"I know"

"seems to me like you have an history with them"

Silence...

"you should get some sleep. I will stand watch for a while"

"why did you save me?" it was the 'man's turn to look serious; though their appearances were not clear enough in the dark.

"to make myself feel good"

This short reply made the 'Man' give a smirk, 'what a weirdo'.

Su stood guard for a while before deciding to turn in for the night.

As he laid on the cold ground, he wondered how Lu Kang and his masters fared.

The meeting with the Leader of the Dead Owls was due in about 2 days and it was not a show he would like to miss. Currently, Master Lu must have a lot to deal with on his plate.

He imagined how worried everyone would be about him at this moment and hoped he would come out of this ordeal alive.

Most importantly, if he died here, his solo plan to uncover the dark conspiracies surrounding his family's wrongful deaths would surely end here with him.

Thinking of this, he was more determined to get out of this forest alive.

He was still deep in his thoughts and had not even gotten any sleep when he heard wincing sounds from the opposite direction.

He immediately got up and moved closer to the 'Man' who seemed to be in so much pain.
