Chapter 2 – First Encounter

Time passed indefinitely. Griffin opened his eyes, but what he found was himself in a dark place. It's too dark to see anything. Surprisingly, Griffin could still see his own limbs. And even more strangely, he was currently floating, in mid-air.

"Am I dead?" Griffin said in his mind.

But the death he imagined was different from his current state. He just knew that after a person died, he would be in a place that was all black.

"Finally we meet," a voice echoed throughout the place.

Griffin was startled and looked around, trying to find the source of the sound. Surprisingly, he couldn't find anyone there.

"Who are you?" Griffin asked as he looked around him.

"You'll find out soon enough."

Again the voice echoed without showing its form.

"Griffin Houston, I will give you the power to protect those around you. But one day, the time will come when you have to pay me back."

Griffin who heard it became even more astonished.

"Power? What do you mean?"

"You don't need to ask now, because you will find the answer soon. And don't try to run away, for your destiny is already tied to this world."

As soon as the voice disappeared, Griffin began to see something in the place shrouded only in darkness. He could see a light. At first it was just a small white dot, but it got bigger and bigger. Until Griffin found out that it was fire.

Unbeknownst to him, the fire had grown so big that it filled the entire place, including Griffin's body. But strangely, the man didn't feel any pain at all.

Not long after, all those flames swiftly entered his body. Then it disappeared, as if the flames had never existed.

Once again, all Griffin saw was darkness.

This time he opened his eyes, again. But now he was in a different place. When his eyes opened, the first thing that greeted him was the bright sunlight. Too bright. Griffin could also feel the warmth of the hot sun touching his skin.

He who was originally in a lying position tried to sit up. His right hand held his aching head, while his left started to feel something strange around him.

His eyes began to look around. It was then that Griffin realized he was no longer in the city where he lived. He was above the ground, precisely in the middle of the forest, with various tall trees that he did not know what kind.

"I'm not dead yet?" Griffin muttered to himself.

After all, this place didn't look like the afterlife world he had often heard of or read about in books.

Then he thought of Evelynn.

"Evelyn?" Griffin called.

But no one answered.

Griffin immediately stood up and looked around, he called out once more.

"Evelyn?!"

Same, no one answered him, only the sound of the wind could be heard around him.

Griffin started walking around to find his little sister. Even though he didn't know what place this was, there was still a possibility that his sister had fallen into this place too.

[Congratulations, you have entered another world]

Griffin fell silent as he looked at the blue screen with white writing in front of it.

"What is this?" Griffin thought in surprise.

He tried to look sideways, and the screen followed where his eyes were looking.

"Did I hit my head too hard?"

Griffin patted his head several times. Maybe there are some nerves in his head that are disturbed.

Griffin couldn't say anything else when he saw another screen appear in front of him.

He thought of one thing and muttered to himself.

"Don't tell me I fell into another world and have a game-like system?"

Griffin had no other conclusion in the situation. In the past he had played some games and watched a movie when someone fell into another world. And these conditions are quite similar in all aspects.

Griffin suddenly laughed to himself while holding his head.

"Hahaha, that's ridiculous. How could I think I fell into another world."

Without him knowing, something suddenly fell and hit him.

Griffin once again fell and lay on the ground.

"Ugh, what is this?" He muttered softly.

He could feel that what hit him was neither too big nor heavy, instead it felt soft.

It was only when he looked carefully, that a woman was lying on top of him.

"He-hey, are you all right?" Griffin called softly without shifting the position of the woman above him.

A second later, the girl moved. She held her own head in pain before her gaze finally met Griffin's.

In that instant, Griffin was mesmerized, he had never met a girl as beautiful as this. Her long blue hair, wavy, looked so beautiful when the wind blew. And her blue eyes sparkled more than any diamond in the world. Her appearance was like that of a fairy from a fairy tale, so enchanting that it was impossible for anyone to take their eyes off her.

Griffin, who saw this beautiful girl for the first time, was also pensive for a moment. His eyes could not be taken away when he saw someone whose face was like an angel.

Not long after, the girl immediately got up in a hurry. At the same time, Griffin woke up from his daydream and stood up as well.

When Griffin just got up and brushed off the dust that had stuck to his body, the blue-haired girl pointed her sword at Griffin. It was then that Griffin realized that this woman was holding a one meter long iron sword. Luckily this sword didn't stab him when this woman fell into his arms.

"Who are you?" The woman asked suspiciously.

She stared intently at Griffin, ready to stab him at any moment.

"Hey hey, calm down. What are you doing pointing that sword at me?" Griffin immediately replied when he saw the tip of the sword pointing at him. He panicked quite a bit when he saw a 1 meter long sword pointed at him.

"Are you from Boaren?"

"Boa- what?"

The woman looked Griffin up and down. The man in front of her did not have a weapon or carried anything else, causing the woman to lower her sword back.

"Who are you?" She asked once again.

"Shouldn't you introduce yourself first before asking who I am?" Griffin replied without hesitation. The woman in front of him was indeed dangerous, but he didn't mean to be polite to an obscure person like this.

The woman was silent for a few seconds before answering. "Isabella Harriet"

"Griffin Houston"

"Are you the one who got lost in the Natorn territory?" Isabella asked right after Griffin said his name.

"Nator?"

Once again, Griffin put on a confused face.

Seeing Griffin's reaction and his clothes which were only trousers and a black t-shirt, Isabella thought of one thing.

'Wait a minute, don't tell me you-"

They looked in the direction of the voice. A rabbit jumped out behind the grass, staring at the two of them from a few meters away.

"What's this?"

Griffin didn't know what else to say. Especially when he see something above the rabbit's head.

"Okay, now it's more and more similar to the game I used to play." Griffin said again in his mind.

Now Griffin didn't know what to think. Now a screen containing a quiz appears in front of him. And once again, this was similar to the games he had played in the past.

But what confused him was the "Normal Fire Bunny". The rabbit in front of him looked normal. He had never found a rabbit size as big as a cat, but there were no signs that indicated the word fire. The rabbit's body is clean with a very beautiful white color.

A second later, Griffin's mind changed when he saw the rabbit suddenly burn. Its cute face quickly turned ferocious with it teeth becoming long and sharp.

At the same time, several rabbits that were burned by the fire also came out from behind the grass. They quickly jumped at Griffin and Isabella.

Griffin who didn't know what to do quickly hid behind a tree. Several rabbits kept jumping up and grabbing him, but Griffin's quick movements managed to dodge them all. Griffin was sure that if attacked by one of them, the pain would be nothing less than the pain of being stabbed by a knife.

Meanwhile Isabella gripped her sword and dashed forward. She quickly slashed at one of the rabbits that jumped at her.

"Catch this!"

Isabella threw one of the swords that was originally at her waist.

Griffin immediately grabbed it. Luckily he managed to hold onto the hilt of the sword.

But now the problem was, he had never used a sword in his life.

Isabella's movements were very fast, cutting the bodies of the rabbits. They quickly split into 2 or 3 pieces.

Griffin felt he could do nothing now. Until one rabbit ran behind him.

Griffin, realizing that there was an attack behind him, immediately raised the sword in his hand and turned back. He took a step back and slashed forward. The heavy sword managed to slash the Normal Fire Bunny in front of him.

Griffin breathed hard. It was the first time he had faced a situation like this. He had often fought and faced near-death situations, but this was the first time he had seen magical creatures with a strange woman.

Behind him, Isabella had finished killing the more than 8 rabbits that had come. But she didn't sweat or look tired. It seems that girl is also a monster.

There was the sound of footsteps coming from something approaching.

A few seconds later, something large moving swiftly crashed into the surrounding trees.

Griffin could finally see what was coming their way.

A monster shaped like a dog, but with a height that reached over three meters. The appearance was so terrifying, showing that they were currently in danger.
