Strategy Game Omega Blue (1079 words)

Invade worlds and take it over, that is her mission and Omega Blue didn't bother to question those orders.

Her ship loaded with a single MCC (Matter Currency Converter), two 3D printers and 20 worker bots additionally to the energy reactor of her ship were the start of this campaign.

Not one to start slow Omega immediately sent out half of her bots to scan the ground for any valuable resources while the other half started to dig up the ground around the ship and throw the dirt into the MCC in order to start accumulating MC (Matter Currency).

The bots are made up from a spherical midsection with four spider like legs and two agile arms with multifunctional hands attached to them.

It is entirely silver in color except for a few circuit like lines which glow with neon blue light.

As soon as enough MC was generated, Omega fired up one of the 3D printers which starts printing a miner bot.

The 10 bots running around and scanning the ground for resources have come over a couple of ore depos and marked them on an expanding map in Omegas field of vision.

With enough resource points discovered for the moment Omega recalls half of the scanning bots to aid the ones shoving dirt into the MCC of the ship.

By the time the five extra bots arrived back at the ship the first mining bot was finished and read to go.

The ground design is almost identical to the standard bots, its legs are longer and instead of two arms it has a drill at its underside.

This drill will allow the bot to easily dig underneath the ground, but of course this isn't everything, no, any minerals in contact with the drill will get attracted trough electromagnetism into a collector at the intersection between the drill and the rest of the bot.

Once enough of a mineral got collected the bot will compress it into a cube and eject it before continuing its work.

Its first target is a small gold depo a bit farther away from the ship to the north.

The MCC is able to turn any matter into MC but materials like gold or other ores have much higher value than just random dirt and rocks.

Because of that it is much more efficient to target the more valuable resources first in order to build up a big enough foundation to later successfully start the snowballing effect.

For the next few days Omega did nothing else but to increase the amount of mining bots and sent them all to the same ore depo.

Five of the dirt collecting bots got reassigned to haul the mined gold into the MCC of the ship.

Once the depo run out of resources the whole troop of miners and haulers went to the next one.

This continues till Omega got 20 miners running around together with all the other bots including the remaining dirt collectors an excluding the five that still scan for resources.

With 40 bots working nonstop Omega approached her current limit.

Each bot required energy which he drains directly form the network (Reactor),and the single reactor in the ship can sustain a maximum of 50 tier one bots.

Reaching this number, Omega shuts off the 3D printer and stopped producing more miners, letting the MC accumulate in the ship's storage.

With 20 tireless miner bots draining the ore depos dry and 15 other bots hauling them into the MCC, the storage of the ship soon approached its maximum capacity.

As soon as the cap was hit, Omega used up almost all of it to turn the spaceship into a beast of a truck.

A container like body of silver and neon blue color with two sideways attached metal bares on each side on top of four wheels and two tracks in the middle.

This change actually did nothing but turn the spaceship into a ground vehicle.

Omega did this because even though a spaceship is a high tier vehicle, it needs lots of energy and this would mean she needs to abandon half of her bots as she can only load 20 on the ship, she could throw the rest into the MCC, but this would waste the time she spent to build them.

A truck is a low tier vehicle and only uses around the same energy as ten tier one bots placing her current energy expenditure at a satisfying maximum.

Now mobile, Omega could eliminate the time needed for the hauling bots to carry the resources to the spaceship.

Also, every time the depo is depleted, 20 bots could enter the truck while the remaining twenty grab the bares on the outside and ride along.

The increase in mobility drastically increased efficiency and Omega once again approached the storage limit.

Looking at the map which has increased in size thanks to the five bot still running about scanning for resources, Omega recalls all five before firing up both 3D printer with the task to start building tier 2 drone bots.

Those bots have double the energy cost, but they also have much higher mobility and efficiency.

Omega intends to sacrifice the 20 tier 1 hauler bots for 10 tier 2 drone bots.

Later she would do the same with the miner bots, replacing them with tier 2's.

The production of a tier 2 bot takes double the time for tier 1's, but Omega wasn't worried, the current efficiency was acceptable and with each tier 2 bot the efficiency would increase a bit till all tier 1's are replaced, then a big jump in efficiency will happen because once all bots are able to fly, her mobility will explode.

More mobility meant she would find resource depos faster, the miner bots would arrive faster, the hauling bots would transport the resources faster which meant MC would be produced faster.

The weak point of this strategy is the lack of increased mining speed of the mining bots, but that isn't much of a problem too as with higher mobility Omega could be pickier with the resources she targets, focusing on the more valuable ones instead of lesser.

It took three days till all the bot got replaced by tier 2 versions of themselves, their numbers got reduced half, but in turn 20 flying bots swiftly travel around the area and plunder the natural resources of the land, a fair exchange in Omega's opinion.
